  1. They teleport to Lletya. Very convenient. They have 3 charges and can be recharged for a small sum. You can get more of them by killing elves in Lletya - they drop these crystals quite often.
  2. I got Keris recently as well. Is it really better than whip on Kalphites?
  3. Dogs are quite good Slayer exp by the way. Just need to know a good location :-) The good one is inside Brimhaven dungeon - there is a small room filled with 5-6 dogs. They are agressive so the killing goes real fast and they give decent Slayer exp (62).
  4. I never get assigned monsters you don't have access to.
  5. Thank you for the answers! Good point about the berry patch. However it is a longer walk to the castle from there rather than from the fairy ring. But yeah, it looks the best option for me now: I can use Lunar spell to talk to the adviser or I can still user fairy to get there to talk to him, but the Spirit tree allows me to add this additional berry patch to the route.
  6. I am struggling to find a USEFUL spot for my Spirit tree. Currently I have it in Port Sarim, but I realized that I am not using it for anything good. Where do you think is the best place for a Spirit Tree? What are pluses and minuses of each spot? Where is yours?
  7. It looks like similar proportion holds for sharks too. I get about 115 sharks per hour being lvl 79 fishing. A person I know with lvl 99 fishing says he gets the same amount of sharks per hour.
  8. Watchword, great explanation. I agree 100% I am lvl 5 in every skill and also did measurements there. Myths about collector loosing points for people shooting cannon and defender not getting points for not trapping runners are so widely spread now and so wrong that they actually start hurting experienced players! It's time to stop those myths! If an Attacker has time to shoot out runners, he/she should do it 100%. And if Defender allows runners to go through, anyone who is close by should shoot out the runners. Missed runners is one of the most negative factors on overall team performance.
  9. Well, my main money sources are: 1. Miscellania Kingdom 2. Small Time Merchanting (selling occasional stuff like teletabs, potions, dueling rings, bronze bars, magic bows, molten glass etc.) 3. Making and high alching magic longs 4. A little bit of commodity merchanting (for instance, I can buy 1K of sharks for 800K and sell for 1K ea in 100 chunks - stuff like that) I don't cut mages or fish sharks anymore. Too boring and waste of time. And I agree with a statement that Monkfish is better both exp and money wise (though Sharks are easier to sell).
  10. Sharks are closer to the bank and there is no competition over them, while mages place may be crowded and trees cut down. Both are very slow though. I prefer other money making methods.
  11. I killed Dust Devils recently. With my 95 combat (Def - 75) they seemed to be quite easy. I potted up with super att/str and was killing them like 3 devils per lobster, so it was pretty fast. Got a lot of rune arrows from them. As for raising Slayer. If you don't use cannon, then take assignments from Lost City guy - he give more exotic and interesting ones. And yes, skip metal dragons. You won't get wyverns for a while :-). I also skip crocodiles. Never used bones to peaches, so no comments there.
  12. Yeah, we are back to old days when maples were sold to middle level fletchers and all kind of firemakers. I don't expect them to fall in price a lot though.
  13. New 'barbarian' fly-fishing is even faster than Salmon/Trout fly-fishing.
  14. For Cannon-able tasks use Edgeville master. This is for sure! He gives a lot of dagonnath, kalphites, werewolves and trolls - all good for cannon. Lost City master is not that good for cannon as he tends to give more exotic assignments.
  15. All eggs you properly collected are counted as your points. Every egg you broke while collecting is destructed from your points. So be careful! It does not matter what happens with the eggs after you collected them. You can load the cannon and shoot - it does not change the score.
  16. I agree. Sharks are easier to sell. It is hard to quantify/measure this quality though... But, yeah, I probably should add a column to the table 'Is it hard to sell?' or something like that.
  17. Great! I really look forward to seeing your results. Also it would be interesting if you could measure Salmon/Trout fishing in Shilo at 96, so we could compare it with barbarian.
  18. No. Here is how it goes: 1. Take a knife, barbarian fishing rod and 20-25 bait. 2. Tele to the outpost and start fishing. 3. When you have full inventory, use knife on the fishes - it is very quick as you can click on the nearest fish to the knife. For me it is quicker than dropping fish. 4. As a result you get full inventory of roe, caviar and stack of entrails. Drop entrails and fish again using roe and caviar as bait (sometime use a few entrails as well - as needed). 5. Repeat So, you only need a starting 20-25 bait. After than you can stay there forever and fish. No dropping, no banking, no bait.
  19. I tried trawler. It is extremely fun and probably the easiest way to make friends in RS. Plus I got some turtles :-) But not much exp... During successful trips I get only about 800 exp... (in 11 min) And the ship sinks quite often too... Maybe there are like 'trained teams' to do it more efficiently, but I didn't get into one :-) Anyway it was fun.
  20. I think I just provided the figures... Check the blog... They are firm (at least for lvl 79). After all I did spend a few days measuring it all and getting averages. Barbarian fly-fishing came out faster than salmon/trout. However, I did not bank caviar - it would make is slower. I used roe and caviar as bait for the next load.
  21. No... It's a normal blog. Open for everyone...
  22. I was fishing on the 2 spots left of the store. It was closer to the store than to the bank. Strange. It works for me. Maybe it was something temporary...
  23. Any statistic for this vs Shilo fly fishing? yes, you probably didn't look in the blog post... Anyway I was getting about 1400 more exp every 15 minutes on Barbarian fly-fishing. And I didn't even banked Salmons/Trouts. Instead I sold them to the shop which is faster run. However sharks got a good demand because of pkin and cooking and doesn't require any quests. Those are good reasons to still fish them. Sure. But if you have done the quest, there is no sense to catch Sharks. It came as a surprise to me.
  24. I was bumping to this question all over the Help section after the Barbarian update. Some people would vote for the new 'barbarian' methods, while others would laugh and say 'nothing can beat Salmon (Monkfish, Sharks - pick one)'. Well, I ended up actually measuring money and exp I was getting from ALL good methods. Results were quite shocking (at least to me). Just a few bullets: 1. New 'barbarian' fly-fishing is indeed the fastest Fishing exp out there 2. Sharks fishing does not make any sense, because Monkfish gives not just better exp but also better money 3. Harpoon is totally obsolete. Bare hands 'barbarian' fishing gives the same exp, but an additional Strength bonus. Full measurements report and observations are in my blog What is the best Fishing method? One thing though is that I, of course, got all these numbers for my Fishing level (79). It would be very interesting to know if the same proportions hold true for other levels. Please let me know what your experiences are. Also, if I missed some other method or trick, please, point it out. I am determined to get to the bottom of it :-)
  25. You can change what your workers collect using the Kingdom management interface. Just click on the controls at the bars to add/remove workers. I don't know if the harvest time can be changed though. Time for me is 1 PM EST, but I am not sure if it is the same for everyone or depends on the time of the quest completion. Regarding 10%. Not sure what the question is. They take 10% or 75K (whatever is lesser) and instead give you the materials they collect.
