range training spots
I went from 40 to 70 range shooting bronze arrows at the hobgoblins near the crafting guild. You lose money doing this, but it's very fast as you don't pick anything up (unless you want to telegrab good rune drops). Lots of people recommend using knives (iron) on experiments. I've ranged moss giants in the past, the iron knives would work well on them as well. Everybody loves ranging the fire giants, but you might want to wait until you get 60 or so range before going there. One last option is get slayer tasks and range them all. I've been doing this lately and it certainly adds a little excitement to things.

i need help with mearchanting
hmmm ok i am trying to mearchant them at the min i got 14k off some one for 14 each and am trying to get a good profit margin Sometimes you just need to just sell for whatever you can and move on to something else. Consider it a lesson learned, paying 14ea for air runes with the intention of reselling them is not profitable. Pay less next time or try something else.

ranging stories
argh those are so annoying! Even worse is when you answer and are then called a liar. Some guy did this to me when asking about my magic level (dunno why he'd ask about magic while ranging) and then when I told him to look it up, he asks, "How?". Sadly enough, when I want to do serious training, I turn public chat off.

Which Prayer book did you choose?
I chose Zamorak first and then completed the other two so that I could burn them to ashes using Flames of Zamorak (with charge) while laughing maniacally.

+++Lots of RANGE questions+++ (pleasure to read, with pics)
I had been power-training range at the hobgoblins, but it started to become a real chore and as I was trudging to the crafting guild to unleash 77k bronze arrows for levels 71-80, I decided to try ranging slayer tasks. I must say, ranging is fun again now that I switched. I hadn't trained slayer at all yet and went from level 2 to 20 on a single hill giant task (it's good to be a newb). I had to laugh (and I just knew this was going to happen) when I got hobgoblins for my third task. :P To the guy who started this thread - Getting a crystal bow is easier said than done. Have you looked at the list of quest that must be completed? Ugh (although maybe you've already done some of them.. :))

bush snakes
Ah-hah, thank you for this info.

63-70 ranged
I like firing bronze arrows at the hobgoblins because there is never anybody there and this means that I can keep arrows in the air nearly 100% of the time. Using this method is a total loss in terms of arrows and drops (none), but it is very fast.

bush snakes
There is no bank nearby. Your best best is to use trading sticks to pay to have your stuff sent to the bank. Long ago, when I decided to try to collect snake skins to make the armor, you couldn't just kill random snakes that you see crawling around that area, they had to be bush snakes. In order to encounter bush snakes, one had to hack at the dense foliage with a machete. When you do this, random stuff shows up. Sometimes it's a snake, sometimes it isn't. The whole procedure proved to be a massive pain in the rear and I ended up giving up long before I had enough skill to make a full set of armor. People charge the prices they do for this armor for good reason. Does anybody know, do you still have to kill the snakes that show up when you use your machete on the dense foliage or have they changed this?

63-70 ranged
I just finished ranging at the goblins to get 70. I didn't keep track of how many arrows it cost me, but I just did some calculations to see how many it will take to get 80. I killed several goblins and kept track of how many arrows it took me to kill each one and then took the average. For me, it was about 7. The tip.it range calc says that I'll have to kill just shy of 11k hobgoblins for 80 range so 7 * 11,000 = 77k bronze arrows for 80 range. This is a high number as I rounded up in my calculations and it will take me fewer arrows per goblin as my range level increases. EDIT: I just used the range calc to see how many goblins you need to kill. Assuming you have 370k exp right now (lvl 63), the calc says you need to kill just over 3k goblins. If I guess that you average 8 arrows per goblin, it will take you 24k bronze arrows to reach your goal.

Kill life's ranging guide
I don't know where the guide is, but I would like to second the assertion that the search function on this forum does work worth diddly. I just did a search for "range" and it came back with 0 hits. Yeah right.

Dark Bows
msb = magic shortbow A whole range of crossbows and bolts can now be created by players. Player-made crossbows range from bronze to rune while bolts range from bronze to enchanted dragonstone and onyx.

OWNED..new bank pic added 3 days after getting haxted page 2
This is exactly what I was thinking and I can only think of one way (the obvious one). Any other ways anybody can come up with?

Good Place to Power Range?
This is kind of a newb answer, but while you wait for better - I shoot bronze arrows at the hobgoblins near the crafting guild. There's never anybody there and there are enough hobgoblins to keep the arrows flying.

Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
So far, there has been a drop, but not what I was hoping for. :) I'd say that santas have dropped ~350k so far.

God Wars Dungeon + Rewards
Where did you hear this? People are selling the shards on the forums now (or at least claiming to have the shards).
-
Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
I was waiting for this. Once they drop 1-2M I'll get 8-10 santas :anxious: I hope so. I'm only a smalltime player (only had a santa and an egg) and sold my stuff before this update hoping to either upgrade to a red mask (if prices drop a lot) or make a little cash. No risk, no reward I guess. :)

God Wars Dungeon + Rewards
I know your question is for mchainmail, but while you wait for his answer, I'll give you my perspective. I'm watching the forums and I'm not ready to say that I've seen a legit sale of the god sword. When people first begin to obtain them, they will sell them on the forums because they will command an absurd amount of money in the early going. I do see offers of 100 million cash for one. I have definitely seen dragon boots for sale as well as steam staffs. edit: *lots* of d boots for sale now, that price should drop with the quickness.

God Wars Dungeon + Rewards
I don't understand what you are asking here, can you rephrase your question?
-
God Wars Dungeon + Rewards
Not to nitpick at all, but dragon boots are selling on the forums for 6 mil right now without much trouble. I do agree that they will drop significantly in time.
-
Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
Lots of selling in the discontinued section of the forums, very little buying. I see a slight drop in santas so far (someone wants to sell for 21.5 mil and will come to buyer's place and world). To me, this is not surprising at all; I'll be interested to see how far prices drop and how long the drop lasts (for all I know it could be minimal in both cases).

Mask
It's hard to predict what will happen with rares, but I do know that a lot of people think, as you do, that they will rise in price as Halloween approaches. Because many people think this is so, those same people buy masks with plans to sell then around Halloween. The more masks there are for sale at any given time, the lower the price. Santa hats did not rise in price as Christmas approached last year.

Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
Couldn't agree more with this. Thanks for the responses everybody!

Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
So you don't anticipate people selling their rares to be able to afford very rare and expensive items? I was on a break from Runescape when 3rd age was introduced; was there any impact on the economy then?
-
Do you think the RS economy will suffer?
There is a lot of talk about the impending "god wars dungeon" and the "fantastic loot" that will be introduced into the game with it. Do you anticipate an across the board drop in prices as people sell their items for cash (to buy god dungeon loot)?

how much is studded G or T? Where can I buy?
For some reason, it is not frequently found for sale on the rs forums. Just be patient and willing to pay a little more than it's worth. When you think about it, 70k per piece is not that bad; you can make 70k very quickly if you try and the time you spend looking for it is time that you aren't spending making money. I recently bought studded body (g) for 60k, I saw no need to get uptight about 20 or 30k.
