  1. I'm pretty close to 80 range and will soon need to make a big decision. As has been pointed out in numerous threads, leveling range into the 90s will be extremely slow if I choose to do it using traditional methods (knives and arrows). If I level prayer to at least 43, I can do chin training and greatly speed up my leveling. A lot of people say that 52 prayer is desirable for pking (and it is my primary objective to create a decent pker). I would hate to spend hours upon hours leveling range with my prayer at 1 and then suddenly decide, "G, I think I'll get 52 prayer for smite now that my range is 90".
  2. Just a small comment - You must have 30 defense to wear the snakeskin boots. :( To the original poster, it would be helpful if you listed the defense and prayer level of your "pure".
  3. The accumulator does not work through the cage.
  4. This is my preferred method. I need a bumper sticker that says: "I brake for ranarr seeds" That's all I pick up (well, snap and kuarm too), the experience is really fast and you don't have to pay much attention to what you are doing (you can watch tv while you do this no problem). Fire giant drops are nice, but the area is usually pretty crowded and you do have to pay a bit of attention as they can hurt you if you run out from behind your obstacle.

A few comments.. As some have already said, start in Ardougne with only three items. I suggest dhide top and bottom and any bladed weapon to cut the webs. Lever, run north, cut webs, and then run west. Cut the webs in the small building just west of the mage arena and then lever to enter the mage bank. You cannot be pked in the mage bank. The first part of the mage arena "minigame" is to fight the 5? forms of kolodian. Grab a couple of prayer pots, some food, and the runes for the spell you will want to use against the forms. You don't need any valuable armour or weapons since you won't be taking damage (protect from magic) and you can only cast spells in the arena. When you are ready to start, talk to kolodian. He is in the mage bank and when you accept his challenge, you will be tellied to the arena and the fight will start. When you kill all of kolodian's forms, you will be tellied back to the bank. Once back at the bank, enter the pool and get a cape and a staff. You cannot be pked in the area you enter after entering the pool. Once you have your staff, you need to cast 100 god spells. It doesn't matter if your casts hit or splash. Equip your staff and runes for 100 casts. If you are worried, take only runes for 50 casts. Take some prayer pots and a little food and be sure to have a knife to cut the webs. Again, you don't really need anything else since you will be using protect from mage. Lever to leave the bank, run east, cut webs. At the entrance to the arena, cut more webs and lever to enter it. When in the arena, position yourself so you cannot be seen by anybody walking in front of the arena. If you see a white dot approaching while you are fighting in the arena, try to get out of combat and log off before they can get to you. I know that I was scared the first time I did this minigame, but it is really nothing to be too worried about. There is no reason to take anything valuable with you at any point besides runes, your god staff, and a couple of prayer pots. Good luck.
  6. About 467k Bronze or about 463k Iron arrows. You really should pick them up, somehow. You can cut the amount to about 117k and 116k if you do. Hope this helps WOW, isnt there a bigger difference? I thought the exact same thing. I range at the ogre cage, don't pick up, and use bronze arrows. Looks like I made the right choice. 1k bronze = 15k 10k bronze = 150k 100k bronze = 1.5 mil 500k bronze = 7.5 mil 7.5 million for 99 range isn't that bad if you ask me. I took the 500k number from peronix's post because I think that his calculations make good sense. If you don't die of boredom firing off 500k arrows, I salute you. If you average 1k arrows per day, it will take you a year and a half to achieve your goal. All of this said.. What is your ultimate goal? If I remember from your other posts, you have 1 defense and 1 prayer (or maybe you did priest in peril so this is slightly higher?). Do you plan on staying at those low levels when you achieve 99 range? Will you ever level prayer to 52 for smite? I mention this stuff because I am in the same boat that you are. I don't have an accumulator because you have to have prayer levels in order to do that quest. Heck, if I knew I was going to get 52 pray for sure, I could just level it now and do chin training.
  7. I am surprised that Jagex doesn't handle the reporting of autoers in the following way. All reports of players being autoers are handled by a script or program that does the following: If a particular player is reported as an autoer, his "autoer flag" is incremented by one. If the "autoer flag" of a particular player reaches 10, this means that 10 independent players felt that this player was an autoer. The player is now flagged as a "probable autoer". The "probable autoer" threshold can be adjusted up or down as needed. Once a player is flagged as such, the case is either examined by a human or is subjected to a series of more careful (and resource intensive) checks.
  8. I'd just like to add that a summer pie will temporarily increase your agility level by 5. Because of this, I was able to start using the wilderness arena at level 47. Keep in mind that one of the obstacles in the arena requires 49 agility.. Aside from the pie, I brought several agility potions with me to counter this. In spite of the annoying pkers, the wilderness arena rocks and I had 53 agility in no time at all.
  9. Imagine what its like for my 60 combat havin' self out there. Everybody wants a piece of me which is why I run the course with my msb and some poisoned rune arrows. I also carry about 5 sharks for a quick heal. I know this isn't the most efficient setup, but I got tired of having to log every time some nerd runs out of food.
  10. Come on man, help yourself a little bit.. tip.it Desert Treasure Walkthrough
  11. You need the ring of visibillity in order to get ghostly robes. In order to get the ring, you need to be able to start the desert treasure quest (so you need all of the reqs for it). You don't need to complete desert treasure, you only need to get the ring. tip.it ghostly robes guide
  12. It is in Brimhaven. Take the boat to Brimhaven from Ardougne and then walk se from the docks. You have to pay about 300 coins to get into the arena. I'm pretty sure that doing laps at the Barbarian course is technically quicker, but the agility arena is much, much, much more fun / entertaining / challenging. I'm normally all about power-leveling, but for some reason, running laps at Gnome Stronghold / Barbarian village drives me batty. If you go to the agility arena at 40 agility, do not go through the "darts" obstacle. When you get hit by the darts, they lower your agility and 40 agility is required to navigate not only the darts obstacle but also the spinning blades (so you'll always fail those two things while you agility is lowered). I learned this lesson the hard way. :) All that said, it's a good idea to avoid those darts in general if you can.
  13. Do you guys take breaks or do you just power through? I gotta say, I hit 78 a couple of days ago, and I'm already burnt out! I've taken to training agility for a bit and then maybe I can bear to see another ogre for a minute.
  14. Right and when they offer you 1.25k, be sure to call them a "n00b" and inform them that mature conversations are worth 1.5. ;)
  15. I just went and plugged some random numbers into the tip.it crafting calc. I entered 30,000 for current crafting experience. This put me at level 37. I entered 50 for the target level. To attain this level, I would have to spin 4756 bowstrings. It would take 16250 bs to get 60 craft. 47176 to get 70. I can easily buy flax for 70ea and can easily sell bs for 180ea. This is a 110 profit per bowstring. There are definitely quicker ways to level crafting, but this method is brainless and profitable. Spin some flax and time yourself and then decide whether the time it would take to achieve your desired lvl is too daunting or not. The timing of this post is funny. This kid is always asking me for free arrows so instead I bought him 2k flax. I was hoping that he would spin the flax into bs, sell, and then buy more flax or use the money to make even more money. He sold the flax.
  16. ... if your gonna post at least post something that counts... and does ignore list really help when your talking to someone publicly? i think not there fore =; Yes it does. If you add somebody to your ignore list, you don't see any more talking from them at all - public or private. If people in the area are talking to said person and you don't like what they are saying, then add them as well. The ignore list is a terrific solution to the "I don't like what so and so is saying" complaint. Heck, I'll even go a step further and say that if people in my area start up a flame war ("you're a noob" "whatever nooblet" "shut up nubcake"), I'll just turn public chat off and talk to my friends privately or in clan chat.
  17. Wow, this is good info. Any advice on the best way to get from 80 - 87 magic? If I remember right, aren't you the guy that got 99 crafting in a ridiculously short period of time?
  18. I range the ogres at king lathas training camp using bronze arrows and I find it to be very good experience. I don't pick arrows up, but I do pick up ranarr and snap seeds when I see them (a single ranarr will buy you 2k bronze arrows, snaps are worth even more).
  19. Pure sets are chaps and vambraces only, no body. This is because pures usually have 1 defense and therefore cannot wear dhide body. Green dhide pure sets usually sell for 6-8k. Prices vary greatly for blue, red, and black pure sets. Edit: Just read the post above mine. You got it right except people selling pure sets generally leave it to you to get your own cowl/coif and leather body.
  20. I think you have the right idea, but I'd change it just a little.. 37-45 fally telly 45-55 cammy telly 55-70 high alch
  21. After reading the posts made to this thread, it's very apparent to me that many of you don't realize how good you've got it living in the United States. There are millions of people who would do anything to come to the US and there are even more who worry from day to day if they will be having dinner. We see a conversation with someone who plays Runescape not for fun, but to try to make money, to earn a living. I've seen websites that sell Runescape gold, it goes for about $4 US per RS million. If you can make 1 million per hour, congrats, you just earned less than a McDonalds employee. Don't give me this, "but one US dollar goes a long way in a country like that" stuff. These people are poor and would give a lot to be in your shoes. Have a little compassion.
  22. This is my new hangout. I use bronze arrows, no picking up. Big fat ogres.
  23. Hmm.. considering whenever I go there theres usually a clan of 1337 speaking pures.. Yes. So why not actually fight them instead of killing trainers? Does a lion kill the strongest buffalo in the herd or the weakest?
  24. Max damage for crystal bow is 25% of your range level when the bow is fully charged. For 70 range, this is 17 or 18.
