Anybody know any long, action packed books? I like long books, and I like really actiony books. Preferably of the spy kind...
  2. Oddly enough I said nothing of the sort...might be because I wasn't impressed at all. Also, some people can't enjoy a movie because it's "action" and "kick asseyness". Some people do need a coherent story to enjoy a movie. I still don't see why no one is complaining about Sam's death. That was, to be honest, one of the stupidest death scenes ever. Of course when he died I knew he would come back alive, he's the main character, but I thought the key in the bag (can't remember what it was called) would revive him so he couldn't save Optimus. But nope...apparently all good boys go to robot heaven. I know I bash this movie like Vince bashes prostitutes, but I truly don't think this movie should be called "kick [wagon]" because it has enough action and explosions and pretty robots to keep you from caring about the story, I think a movie is kick [wagon] when the action doesn't totally blow (It took thirty seconds to kill the Fallen, which is not kickass, it seems lazy...all the buildup to a half assed robot fight) and the story is good. Though other genres I have different ways I want it, I think that action movies do need to have coherent stories if they want to get across to the hardcore crowd who don't go to movies mainly for the experience, but also for the journey. Eh, this comes from the guy who likes James Bond, so I don't see where I am coming from. James Bond movies can be kinda plot holey. I don't know...ever since I started reviewing movies my mindset has gone from "whatever" to "OMG! That totally was stupid". Damn I better become a movie critic when I grow up or my mind has been permanently scarred forever...

You don't need to, but they're definitely worth playing. Especially if you like going into a game with the COMPLETE background of it. But most of it is explained in Fallout 3 anyway. I played 3 before the first one and I got it. I picked up a 3-pack of Fallout 1+2 and Tactics for $20 at Best Buy recently. Pretty fun stuff. If you're interested then you could look into that. Yeah, I saw that pack at Walmart, but I might look into the first couple Fallouts before jumping into the third.
  5. You've apparently never read something by Archimage.

Should I buy the other ones before I buy Fallout 3, or is Fallout 3 a standalone story?
  7. Someone was too busy watching explosions and robots to listen to the story... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRS90V8BQGo That sums up the movie pretty well.

I can't see the picture for some reason, but because it's an online space game... Allegiance? Vendetta Online?
  9. Most of the slaves were from Senegambia and Côte d'Ivoire. As for how nice they are, Cote just got out of a civil war, and Senegambia apparently has governmental problems. And to sum this up real quick, we were doing a project in school where we had to interview someone we knew about a historic period. Well, let's see what all the black people did: -Segregation -Barrack Obama Election I swear to god that's all they did. It seems like the three biggest events in American history that affect the black community the most are: -Slavery -Segregation -Barrack Obama And it seems like that was all they cared about in school. We start talking about the great depression, World War 2, and the effect it had on stimulating our economy. They don't care, "This is boring, let's learn about segregation" they say. Segregation is as boring to the white folks as WWII seemed to be for the blacks. "This march happened here..." "She did this..." "He talked about stuff..." They seem to focus on the worst stuff they possibly can, perhaps because the white people are supposed to feel bad for something we had no control over since we were kind of born a bit to late to do anything. Also, to the black people in my class, it seemed like they said "Move over Abraham Lincoln, here's Barrack Obama, the first black president!" When we did the project that made us interview people about a historic event, most people picked when Obama got elected and one of the last questions? Do you think he's the best president. "Yes. He will do great things for this country..." So on and so forth. They seem so narrow minded to the fact that he has done absolutely nothing but be a media [bleep]. No, it's because he's black (Which I think some of them should understand he's HALF black, which doesn't actually make him black, it makes him white too...he's multi-racial). I don't know, I'm just taking this from real life experiences. I know tons of good black people, and I'm best friends with one, but it seems that their are tons of ones who don't give a damn and complain because they live in the "hood" and all that crap. It's not like people are making you live there, that's a path you choose for yourself. There is very little racism in the school system (I mean teachers and such don't care, kids can be quite bad) and they can go to college and live in the giant house in L.A if they actually saw past sports and rapping...the easy ways out. I want to be an actor, but I don't sit back and school and say it will happen, because I know my chances of that are slim. I work towards getting good grades and towards my "normal" job. There is no racism above, I am just pointing out plain and simple facts based on 185 days of being in a class with 26 other blacks.

^^^Originality in movies? NO! I don't understand how they made a movie out of Public Enemies, because it's mostly a history book, just written in more of a story format. It still has a whole five page bibliography in the back and tons of actual pictures, I'll figure out what it's about later. I bought Speaker For the Dead, but I'll read that later. Right now reading Rendezvous with Rama, which is pretty good so far.

Wow...how'd I guess? This game was really hard.
  13. Just to point out some things on slavery, black people think it was terrible and bad and all that, but really the pain and suffering of slaves was for nothing, they got freedom in the America's (eventually). But, something I want black people who complain that white people are idiots for doing slavery to know is that without slavery, most of the black population in America would have stayed in Africa. They wouldn't be over here, they would be living in wherever it is that they were found. Most of the black people in America today would probably never have been born because of the harsh conditions of Africa taking a toll on their ancestors who were not picked up by the white folks and shipped to America. So, to tell the truth, I think slavery is the best thing that could have happened to the black community. Without it, they wouldn't be where they are. I would not take slaves purely because I don't think it's right to take a human and make them work for you. Who needs slaves anymore anyway when we have as much technology as we do. I can plow the fields with a machine now.

I'm assuming it's the JoJo's Bizzare Adventure game that you seem to talk about a lot over at the Manga/Anime thread.
  15. And on topic is, Can the PS3 survive ten years like Sony seems to think?
  16. Apparently used to be a player, but I find this website to be as stupid as it gets. http://www.freewebs.com/shinta_himura/runescape.htm When you have nothing better to do with your life, work on a site dedicated to not being funny as you make fun of Jagex. And what's up with all the RS addiction stuff?
  17. They had something on the TV talking about how God gave people the choice between being smart but having shot lives, or having long lives and being stupid. That is why he flooded Earth, not because people were praising him, but because they were too stupid. Well, if that were true the Earth should have been flooded long before our existances.
  18. If you are talking about Optimus, then it is a classic Transformers moment. It happened in the old animated one, as well. No, I'm talking about Sam. He went to robot heaven and then was magically given back life by dead robots. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! Right, forgot about that. What do you expect, though? Transformers never did make sense. It isn't in any way intended to, as far as I can tell. Well even if it is a Transformers movie, I do expect a coherent story...
  19. My favorite type of writing you do, your script kind of stuff.
  20. Vocally they sounded horrible. Everything else was fine, but the vocals were better than some bands, but not as good as a lot.

  22. you mean this right? gamers have an open mind to try every new IP out there not to just close their eyes and play an iteration of the same game over and over Excuse me? I friggin hate the Nintendo Wii. No, I mean hardcore gamers do not want to play Wii Sports. I only have one because I wanted to play Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess. I don't know where the hell you got Nintendo fanboy...I personally think the Wii is crap. So next time you make a guess about a person, make sure you have some proof behind it. I was bashing all three consoles because to me, they all suck. I prefer the company of my Playstation 2. If anything, I'm more of a Sony fanboy since the only console I usually play is a PS2. I got a 360, but I very seldom play it because there are too many FPS games, and I hate those. So as you can probably tell, I'm only saying that hardcore gamers will only play Zelda and Metroid and find nothing else to do with the system. Hardcore gamers are not as open to playing "Ninja Bread Man" or any of the myriad of shovelware titles that plague the Wii console. I was under the impression that you were implying people who play Mario/Zelda/MP are hardcore gamers. God forbid my mom still likes playing Mario games. No, I'm implying that hardcore gamers are more inclined to play Mario Galaxy 2 then they are Wii Eat Cookies.
  23. It's not just limited to the Mobilizing Armies minigame...there are airheads everywhere.

  25. Oh the war for console supremacy begins! I knew it would. PS3-Cool you have Blue-Ray.Yeah, just what I want to do is pay 35 dollars for a James Bond movie that came out 30 years ago when I could pay 35 dollars for one of the ultimate collector edition box sets and get five movies on regular disks, along with all the special features I could ever want. And since when were video game consoles also DVD players? Why don't we also build an Xbox360 into the PS3? And also a built in oven! Cool it has God of War 3 which I would kill to play, cool it has MGS4. But isn't it pretty bad that Square Enix won't make FFXIII a PS exclusive? All the FF games of the past 3 generations have been on the Playstation, but now they decide that because of the ridiculous price and because they will be hitting two different sets of consumers, they will sell it multi. Wow, free online. Cool I can play Uncharted with the two other people who actually play it online? X360-Every exclusive for it seems to be about some sort of Space Marine or some sort of Space Pilot. It's the more hardcore system with the multiplayer. But, it does have more exclusives than the PS3. It is the clunkiest piece of machinery I have ever laid eyes upon, and it's cables weigh fifty pounds. I can't complain too much about this one beside that the games are unappealing to me. Wii-The everyman's console. Gamer's like me only want to play the Mario, Metroid, and Zelda titles, none of the shovelware and other crap Nintendo dishes out on them. I hate every console in their own way. I would buy a PS3 if it weren't so damn pricy. If it got a cut, I would buy it.
