Talk about a Buzz Kill!
With or without the summoning update I'm still paying. These updates may or may not be in the best interest for you, but they were necessary for the game itself.

A (new) Unwritten Rule Among RS Players

Getting Rid of RWT or...
Why is everyone acting like the world has just ended? I mean people are judging a book by its cover and not truly experiencing these updates before they flame them. I for one like the updates I have read about, and in the long run will help RS. The wilderness and not been changed except for size, and probably easier to score some good loot if you have some skills.

A (new) Unwritten Rule Among RS Players
Generally speaking, most RS players like this every man for himself attitude when it comes to playing RS. For this reason people are willing to lie, steal, and call you a noob to get items by scamming or other unfair means (even if you thought they were your friend). What I have described above is not a RWT example, but of how low some RS players have gone to get ahead in game. But with the new updates Jagex has released in effort to stop RWT, it has given the player community a chance to turn into a little less every man for himself, into a community that would help each other even it cost one player a few gp's. As of right now, there arn't really "unwritten rules" of RS, but with the new update one (in my mind) should be the first one. Jagex has implemented a new way items are dropped on death. This gravestone update keeps all lost items upon death for a time dependent on which gravestone you own. No longer if you die (except in the wilderness) can other players take you items. This means people won't root you on to die but instead my try and help. This is the first step in changing out community. My proposed "unwritten rule" would encourage players, whenever they see a gravestone, to repair a gravestone to let the dead player get their items back. I'm not saying wait there 10 minutes and watch the player get their items back, but I am saying take 2 minutes out of your day to repair or bless the gravestone in giving each player a better chance of keeping their hard earned stuff. I know each and every one of you would want someone to do this for you if you died, and same here. So this is just encouragement to let tip.it not only be known for pwning in MSSW, but as a great community of players that would help someone they don't know out.

Something we'd all want, but at a price
They used to have this back in the "good ol' days of RSC." In order to gain maximum xp you would have to be rested by sleeping. During this sleeping you would have to type in a random word or something. I found this rather annoying (as well as other players) and was gotten rid of when RS2 came out. As for the one email per account. It could work, but with read-only email sites out there, like http://dodgeit.com, you can easily set up new accounts without going through a registration process.

It might just work if Jagex shuts down creating new accounts for say two months. In that sort of time gold farmers and bots would move on to the next game. I like the idea. Sure it would hurt the growth for two months, but it would give Jagex and honest players time to turn things around.

What is needed to destroy RWT
Every game has cheaters Every game sells in game items for real world money Every game admin tries to stop it Every game ends up getting screwed In recent days I have changed my opinion. Jagex should just go with it, who cares? Honest and loyal players still will not do it. Just the occasional lvl 76 with full drag will :-k . I say if they try any harder it might jeopardize the quality and fun factor of the game. P.S. Anyone thought that the new MMORPGs that Jagex is releasing will be somewhat similar style to runescape but fix the holes for botting/rwt?

The Great RuneScape Bot-Hunt
If these people can afford to pay them for those long hours, it just proves that real world trading goes on a lot more than the RS community knowing. It also shows that recent updates to try and get rid of it has not been effective at all.

When will the witch hunt end?
All these autoer/RWT'ers all goes back to the skill cape. Honestly if Jagex got rid of them (which it never will) some of these problems will go away. If there was no reward for getting a 99 skill people wouldn't care as much, and the price of raw materials would go down. This would make autoers/RWT'ers have a much harder time making money or being an effective RW business.

Has Law Running changed?
I was in world 66. and why no ess back in 99?

Has Law Running changed?
I thought the law rune crafters give 27 p ess with each time you give them un-noted ones. Have things changed where they don't get you more ess? Or have I been played?

After a November full of changes...
Im not so sure after the update today (party room changes) that they will "lay low." Jagex is out to put a death to autoers/RWT'rs.

30 November 2007 - Party Room Changes
They haven't limited the amount of gp you can put in for a day so you could just go to a small populated sever and drop 49.999k at a time and still be safe... But it may take some time.

Has the Grand Exchange really Killed Merchanting?
Members can still effectively merchant. Just like you said not as much gp per hour. On the other hand, free players would have a much harder time with just 2 available buy/sell slots. The onyx market is probably dead now. Because the original GE prices were set by Jagex it means that it wasn't the "RS community" price of onyx. In the first hours of the GE players have made a lot of merchanting money. Since then and from now on merchanting will still go on, but like I said above less gp per hour. The upside of the GE is that you can merchant while offline which is HUGE.

Noobs say the funniest things!
This is a classic: Noob: I'll buy your rune wc axe Me: Not for sale Noob: I'll give you 15k for it Me: Make it 25k and you got a deal Noob: What do I look like a noob? Rune wc axe not worth that Me: Yup Noob: No, your the noob *continues to advertise for rune wc axe*

At this point in time:
What keeps you coming back to RS? What keeps you interested in watching your xp numbers and highscore rank go up? ATM the Grand Exchange and working on combat level is doing it for me. But, since I am kinda getting bored I would like to hear what other people are doing too.

After a November full of changes...
What do you think December has in store? I have a feeling it won't be as "controversial" as November. I have never seen the RS community so bent out of shape as much as in the past month. Because of this I have a feeling Jagex is just going to lay low, release a quest, and dev dairies about summoning. I don't see them doing any more extreme additions/changes to the game until the release of summoning.
-
Future New Items, how will the GE affect them?
Are you really shocked that Jagex wasn't going to try and control the market with the GE in some shape way or form? What did you expect after that got rid of staking?
-
Runescape-less and less original
I wouldn't mind if the GE was like a normal auction house. It would be a lot easier to sell items. Thats about all I agree with here.
-
Fremmy Isles.
With stats somewhat low I would suggest buying a rune halberd or a dragon one and use magic protect prayer. This way you don't have to worry about the mellee and just have to use your lobsters/swordfish on the range attacks.

Cost effective way of training magic
Im thinking about trying to level by using the MTA (Mage training area) in al karid. I hear the enchanting is good xp. Has anyone tried it out?
-
blk salamanders?
Even with that 15 to 1 ratio swamp tar is a real pain to get.
-
Cost effective way of training magic
doesn't it take awhile for the curse to ware off before you can cast it again? I tried it and just didn't have much success waiting around 2 mins before I could cast again

Stupid question about the grand exchange...
This question has been answered 135789013789 times on the forums already, use the search button. Yes things can be bought from you while you are offline.

Paying For Members with Vanilla Visa
Don't think so. I tried to pay for 1 month subscription to WoW with a similar type card. Blizzard let me play for about 6 hours before they nullified activity on my account, and it really screwed up my card  !
