  1. I would definitely say go for the black mask first. It makes your assignments alot faster, and can be used on almost all slayer assignments (atlest until you get the helmet, then it can be used for every assignment). Also, if your short on money, buying a cannon wouldn't be much use, since you would have to buy cannonballs, assuming your not mining, and smelting your own ores/ bars.;
  2. Well since your not going to be able to play much, my advice would be to invest some money in Manage Thy Kingdom. With 10 workers on herbs and the other 5 on maples, I am making somewhere between 1.5-2m a week for a minimal time investment. Averaging less then an hour a day would be tough though, merchanting would probably be your best bet for the amount of time your going to play.
  3. Correct you are, but i also enjoy not having to pay to repair my armor... even though its on a massive decrease right now i doubt it's going to drop back down to 12m, which is when i bough both of them
  4. With the current prices of Barrows equipment and my finances (or lack of) I have finally decided to do my first Barrows trip. After reading a couple of guides I decided on using a black salamander on the brothers. I also saw that Verac's armor was the selection on many of the guides. With that comes my question. Would Bandos Chest and Tassets be a viable replacement for Verac's? Or should I use some other armor? Any help would be appreciated!!
  5. I'm not sure what to about it. It looks legit, but there's a couple things that don't add up. As some people stated before it has the old skill icons even though the activities listed are very recent. Another thing that looks a little bit "fake" are the skill levels. If you notice he has 15 level 99 skills, and he hasn't even been playing a year. I love the design and layout with the blog-like listing, I just don't think it's real.
  6. I was just thinking about it, possibly another expansion to heroes quest. You have to go under rocks (taverly dungeon) to catch an eel (lava eel). Starting off on a new foot... another expansion to it possibly? This would include mining and fishing
  7. Normally I would agree with you, but there are somethings that I can't explain. Back when I first started ranging too long ago, I spent most of my time at Cave Horrors. I was pretty excited for the drops of black masks. i could spend an hour there and get 2 mask drops, come back the next day, be there for 8 hours and and get none. I could also go there spend maybe 2 hours every day and get a mask drop, The same kind of trend continued for some time up until recently, where i have been going for days with no mask drop.
  8. I'm not going to the argue with me having bad luck (best drop in 4 thats right FOUR years is a black mask), but I'm not the only one. I have a friend who has done 9 abby demon tasks and no whip, as for me 2 gargoyle tasks (124 and 146) with no maul, also when black masks peaked at 1m, i spent close to 8 hours down there with nothing, Before i used to be able to average a mask a day (still not sure how that worked out).
  9. Lately i have been noticing the decrease in decent slayer rewards being dropped (granite mauls, black masks, etc..) I'm trying to figure out if they did in fact nerf the drops, or if I'm just having a spell of bad luck. Any help or similar cases would be appreciated \
  10. i looked into mith bolts and figured the cost to be around 3.5m-4m without using the morphic tools as for steel platebodys... not sure how that would be cheaper
  11. I'm trying to get to 70 smithing in order to be able to complete the varrock achievement diary. I'm looking for the best option for some one who has a limited budget (about 3.5m) any help would be appreciated
  12. Well magic logs are obviously the fastest, but if your like me and couldn't afford mages I would go with yews or maples until 92, complete the beacon minigame from all fired up, get the gloves and ring to boost your xp per log. From there its up to you. you can keep going yews or maples. personally i burned maples all the from lvl 50. takes just under an hour to burn 1k. Then again maples were costing me between 75-100 ea back then and i didn't have the ring and gloves #-o edit- 91 firemaking isn't need to recieve the gloves or ring 62 firemaking is needed for the ring and 79 for the gloves
  13. Hmm..yeah completely forgot about the new archive. I'll have to use that to find some of the missing dates. Thanks n64jive, as for the Party Hat Duping, I will include that because it did have a huge impact on one of the discontinued items
  14. After this current pvp update 26king / 76king is easier with less risk.. How did it become easier with no risk? First of all now you need to kill someone who has 75k of wealth to get a randomized drop.. second when you go kill your "partner" you become autoskulled.. let me put it into a timeline for you... at the begining of the day you build your ep up... by 2 o'clock you are ready to do the "trick" with one of your friends... you go to ardougne bank with your friend.. he takes out 76k (increase from the previous 25k) and waits for you... you go and put your three best items, and carry a whip to maximize your earnings. now as soon as you leave the bank you become skulled and lose everything if you are tbed and snared after you kill your friend. where as before you could keep you three best and even the fourth item if you put prot item on... to make a long story short before-> security net now-> none

  16. ok theres been alot of talk over night about how every update changes RuneScape forever. I'm not going to disagree with you, but in the main post I said I wanted to include the ones that had the Biggest Impact on the game. As for those who say I haven't been playing long enough to make this thread, you're entitled to your own opinion I suppose. Finally, how yesterday's updates didn't change "runescape forever", I think that they did. Every update has an impact on someone, but yesterdays was especially true for the people who enjoy PvP. Like all of you I am also entitled to my own opinion.
  17. Thanks Serephurus all those things do help and ill add them to the need dates list
  18. i do want to include things from RSC as i had a account on there that lasted all of 2 hours  but again i need dates as for Holiday Tradeables I will include them since they had such a big impact of the economy im not sure on the removal of the wildy and trade restrictions, i know the GE was introduced before december
  19. Well since we have had another major update installed into RuneScape (eliminating protect items in a pvp situation), and my RS career may be coming to and end, (rl resaons, not the update) I figured I would make a timeline of the most memorable, impacting, or infamous, updates introduced to the game. I am going to need help doing this because I WILL make mistakes and miss some things. I'm also going to need help with dates for the events. I'm going to start from my earliest memory and work my way forward. This is where you guys will come in. I want to work my way back to the begining of RS and forward till today. PS- Month and Year is fine for dates Note: If a similar topic has been created, or it is in the wrong forum please lock or move this topic. 20. I'm am going to have to both agree and disagree with you on this topic. First off do I miss the way that RS used to be? You bet I do. While i havent been around since the begining (mid-2005 is when I started), I have been around long enough to know how RS used to be. I miss the way that you went about RS not knowing what danger lurked around every corner. Nowadays the newer generation has the luxury of danger signs letting them know that they could lose their items if they enter a dangerous place. Back in the day (old timer eh?) if you went into a dangerous place and died, you learned from your mistake. Do i think the newer generation has an advantage? Absolutely. Does it bother me? Not at all. I think that by learning from my mistakes, no matter how expensive my mistakes were, it has made me a more cautious player. The same analogy can be used for hackers, scammers, and pk lures. Over my RS Jagex has done their best to eliminate these by adding bank pins for hackers, putting a price checker on the trader screen (Mith Full Helm swapped for Rune Full Helm), and the wilderness ditch for the old wildy and now PvP worlds and warning screen at login. While I do think they have "dumbed" down the game, I also think it was for the better. People were getting rich the wrong way; by scamming hacking and luring people. These updates eliminated all of these treats, for that I am grateful....On to the Next Topic... I'm not sure about this one but i believe the GE is no longer in Beta Stage.. Correct me in I'm Wrong. As for removing the two sections of them, I do miss them. However, I can see the reasoning behind it. The 26k trick-for the most part it has been eliminated after the previous update, while it can still be used, the risk involved in doing it has just become alot larger. The Rest/Agility update. This one I am kind of slip inbetween. I both like the update, and can feel for the select few who do have 99 agility. I am enjoying this update because it has made my goal of 70 agility alot easier because i never run out of energy training agility. This is also why I can understand why some of those select few with 99 agility are displeased. hech if they ever added a "burn x" or "burn all" into the game I know I'd be mad as a grasshoppers in a can. for the most part it is a beneficial addition to a relatively slow and boring skill. The Party Room pretty much became unused after they added the announcements when there was a drop party. Sure it was fun when you could Throw a party for just you and your friends. Year of Downgrades? I think not. Year of Upgrades? Not exactly.. I would call it more or less "Year of Necessary Improvements in Order to Keep the Game Running." Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Anyways, thats my two cents. Sorry it ran so long.
  21. Oddly enough it has happened to me on more then one occasion. first time was when i was in my mid-70s. had just earned my first mil and was pretty excited about buying full rune t. I buy it (catherby bank I think was the place) and logg out. After a couple hours I decide to logg on and brag to my friends about how i finally got my full rune t. when i entered my password i got the infamous "invalid username or password" message. Me being incredibly nervous enter it again and get the same message. I give up and head to the recover account page. Sadly enough I did lose my full rune t as well as the 1m in cash that i had in my inventory (that i was going to show my friends and brag about). This is the reason that i put ALL of my items into my bank everytime i logg out. ive had the same thing happen to me again about 3 or 4 times, but those time i think there were some very upset hackers
  22. Ever heard of the PVP Update? You can still pk in the wild on PVP servers, so the thread of pkers is still there. As stated in the first post a "like" wilderness was placed in the form of PvP worlds. It's both common sence and common knowledge that if you log onto these servers you can be pk'd almost anywhere. It also help that theres a warning screen when you log onto these worlds.
  23. Couldn't find anything in your statement that i didn't agree with. It really is a shame that the newer players, in my opinion, will not be able to get the "full game experience". Some people say that doing the quest was the "full experience." I however disagree. Gathering the items used to be a part of the quest as well. I still gather all the items I need for a quest by myself without using the Grand Exchange. I'm not saying that its not tempting to use it to buy the items and have the quest done in half the time. I just prefer to get the "full experience." Overall i think the Grand Exchange has it's positives and negative. I really do enjoy not sitting in world 2 trying to buy a holloween mask or some other item. But the lazieness that has followed is discouraging not to metion price manipulators.
  24. Smelly took the words right out of my mouth... people in the price manipulation clans make millions while the rest of us struggle to get that "one special item we want." Recent example: Black masks. they reach 1m at their peak because of the manipulators stay there for a day or two, then drop back down to 300k over the next week or so. What does it leave in its wake? the manipulation group with millions in profit and others, stuck with about 20 black masks. Grand Exchange needs to be fixed of this problem, and what better way to fix it then head straight to the source. Not that we should get off topic of anything. #-o
  25. Let me clarify: by removal of wilderness i mean where pking used to take place. the wilderness does still exist, and is axcessible, but without the dangers of pkers. This is the reason Jagex added Revenants to the wildy. To take the place of pkers and add danger to entering there.
