Long Term Effects of "Exp Weekend"
Or MAYBE Jagex did it for the reason they stated, to help people reach their goal before the introduction of the new skill, probably to get more people to train it. Also, like someojne stated before, a huge lot of raw materials will enter the market, meaning long-term deflation. For example, people who hate mining will mine that day. More ores enter the economy, without more being used afterwards. For herblore, which I think is the main point of this, or at least what people think will be the biggest issue, herbs will rise, but the great number of potions being made, which would be impossible to use in a short while, will mean potions' prices decreasing, and then, as less people will want to train herb in normal times (Considering the higher cost), herbs will become cheaper, to stabilize around the price we have now. This it what should happen, unless people start planning for future weekends like that.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
Your bonus starts when you login. You could start 5 minutes before the end, you'd get 2,7x xp for those 5 minutes. It'd be far too hard to balance otherwise. Which means that there's no need to wake up at 5AM.

26-Feb-2010 - The Big Ticket 2010
Exactly the same for me. -Hey mom, I won a trip to England. -???????? -You know, the time I spend on the computer, I'm playing a game. You might remember when I borrowed your credit card, eh? -Forget about that....It's some internet crap.... -But.... Definitely not going to happen, though...You'd get what? 1/200 000 chance of winning?

Probably, if you find a spot. Which should be really, really difficult.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
I feel lucky to have seen this post this morning. I was able to buy some supplies for my summoning, however, a miscalculation led me to face unbuyable stuff, but meh, that's life. I don't care, it'll be great anyway.

Double Xp Weekend
Chinning should be out of that list....spots will be over-overcrowded. Do things that you can do by yourself, with other players unable to interfere. Summoning-herblore being the best choices IMO, checking some trees health along the way. Also: Magic/agility (BA takes twice as long to get an horn, so you end up with the same xp/hour) others skills like that.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
Yeah, that's a huge conspiracy.... Maybe they want to get people around so that they are here to see the new skill... It could come out on the Monday after that. Or just for the fun of seeing a lot of people at training spots.... Or to give people a chance to raise costly -or boring- skills up faster.

Give me the choice between a trip in England and a free lifetime membership, I choose the trip anytime. Oh, and STOP saying that everything Jagex does is wrong.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
Which is why this sucks, I was going to get 88 summoning this weekend, but nope, can't do that now =/. Jagex REALLY didn't think this through. Nothing is going to buyable for the next two weeks. Yeah, first thing I did was go get some granite so I could get 83. That way I'll go get Abyssal charms to make Lava Titant pouches. Now that I think about it, fi they're going through with this, I want them to have an ulterior motive. It's better than the alternative which is they're doing it for the hell of it. I want to know who thought this was a good idea and what their reasoniung is behind it. I don't like actions taken that don't have an apparent cause. Read the original post, you'll see their motive. Their motive is obviously to get more people during this weekend, in a big skilling fest. But no, people are gonna worry about the economy, then about everything. Just get playing Classic, you'll be able to stop whining about every single update. Seriously, get over it, every time I see one of your posts, you're not happy with what's happening. Noone's stopping to quit if you don't like that game...

(\int_0 hours^10 hours ((10-t)/7.5)^2 + 1.1 dt)/(\delta t)= 1.6925926 I doubt it would actually be in a constant evolution, though.... Maybe replace t by [t]

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's appropriate to this game. There's a culture here where high level players want the skills they have achieved to remain difficult to everyone else, otherwise they feel cheated. Admittedly, this time it won't make much of a difference, but if they do it too much, there is going to be some raised eyebrows. This is stupid. Seriously, they enjoyed their skill when it got them more money/more satisfaction..... Sure, smithing was harder at the beginning, but you would get bucketloads of money for that. If you don't have 200M xp in every skill, there's a way to benifit from that. So everyone is gonna benifit. I certainly hope they'Re gonna do it like twice a year. More than that, and I'd agree it's too much. Also, nice decision to make it on the weekend, so that everyone can benifit,.

Not as much as you think. I wouldn't be surpirsed if prices of thing doubled by the time this happen, so it'll be slightly faster for half an hour, then after that it'll go back down and in the long run, it'll cost more. Basically, stick to runecrafting, agility, mining, hunting, etc. 1)Mining and hunter will be overcrowded. 2)Prices will settle after a while.... Sure, it'll rise a bit, but then fall....

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
Taking herbs's exemple, many will be made into various potions, many people hoarding herbs in the pas few weeks for their own use might sell them when seeing unusually higher prices, more herb farming should be done, etc. Recording that would be impossible.

Jagex Calling Police
How do you think Jagex charges credit cards? This. And your IP adress.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
I'd think that they limit you to 1.1x xp after 10 hours, so that it's still worth it to train, but not that much. Off to buying seconds for summoning.... Hopefully I can get it done with about 2,5 multiplier, I think chinning spots will be too crowded, so perhaps herblore.... (Gotta get a higher level....) Awesome idea.... But it takes a lot of planning....

new lands?
Perhaps they're going to make archeology the new skill and this is ome kind of ruins we'll have to plunder (facing dangerous creatures, of course).. That or anything else, really. A dark power could be some necromancy, or Zaros being resurected, or Zamorak being brought to our lands, or just abyssal creatures leaking to our world or....You know...cool stuff. Can't wait for that update. After all, last time a spot of land was revealed on the mainland, it happened to be GWD (I think...)

22-Feb-2010 - Recolouring Poll Results
Dark bow needs to be kind of dark.... Is it just me, or a bright blue or a white Dark bow would not fit it's name?

Favourite Skill / Least favourite skill
Sometimes I enjoy RC, other times I hate it. So I won't put it there. Favourite: Slayer/fishing (Listening to movies) Least favorite: Hunter.

RIP OLD SCHOOL
It's not that the game was better, it's just that you forgot how typing "flash1:Buying whip 1,7M!!!" for hours upon hours was dull, and how buying anything was a pain. It's not that the game was better, it's nostalgia.

Would you still play if runescape was Class Based?
This is kind of the worse idea I've ever seen in this forum (That was a serious proposal). No offense, but if I had to pick 1 class, I'd hate losing all the xp I have in range and mage. +Everyone would choose mellee, as it is the chapest and most useful for slaying etc or range, as it's great for boss hunting. Seriously, the fun about RS is that you can mellee, let's say....Bloodvelds, and still range aviansies minutes later, only to get maging in PVP minutes later. Also. THE GAME DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND PVP!!!!! My wildguessing (not an actually precise number, just a made up percentage, so don't tell me 67% of stats are made up 84% of the time....) would be that a good 80% of people don't care that much about pking. So why limit everyone so that PVPers can get teir shiny combat triangle back. This game (and only the fighting part of it!) is all about getting the best attack style with the best armor for a designated use. It would be a great no-no from me. However, I wouldn't be opposed to it being like back in the time when you would choose a class while begginning and they would give you some stuff according to what you choose. But still letting you train your own way.

08-Feb-10 - Musical Update & Strykewyrms
Arma can be done at your leisure, not in 2 hour chunks. And if someone goes to arma, it is because they ACTUALLY WANT to go to arma, not because they are forced to to kill a monster. Oh, and I am yet to see someone with a hexcrest equiped, anyone got pics? Yet the fight caves can be completed in ten minute intervals and in under an hour of total play time. On top of that, the only risk is spending money on supplies. What's your point? You are telling me that it is realistic and feasible to do the caves in 10 minute intervals? And show me a single person that can beat jad in under an hour for their first cape. Some people only play 30 minutes at a time/day, why make a quite honestly stupid requirement? I don't have the slayer level, and if/when I do I plan to have had a fire cape for a long while, but the requirement to have one to kill these seems very forced and added just to give firecape a special purpose Edit: Amazing point and I agree 100% Just tell me exactly how someone playing for 30 minutes a day could get to 93 slayer. At 30k/h (Not realistic at all), that's 15k xp/day. 7,195,629 (xp at 93)/15 000= 480 days approx. That's highly ulikely that someone of that level would never find increments of an hour to pass the caves.
