  1. would ba level 2 attacker, level 1 everything else soproithurts. This x10000
  2. GL bro. Unt slayer is definitely a smexi smexi cape.
  3. Short update. Yesterday was Ran through the remainder of potential in my BA Horn, which allowed me to get:- (inb4apeisfaster) Now I'm playing around at Glacors getting some mage xp (~115k from 95) and being a grand nub wearing my CS/CSB with mystic gear. 6 Kills so far:- - 1 Set of shards - 1 Dragon Mace - RLS - 6 crims - 12 Blues Edit:- Ok. These are EPIC for blue charms. Yes. Will definitely get more surges and camp here.
  4. See now, it wasn't that hard to provide some stats to support your point rather than making claims without any evidence was it?
  5. Ended up doing ~500k xp worth of DG today. Bought myself another new toy:- By the time I hit 106 I'll have EEKS and the other one, just for some fun. On top of the "serious" dg'ing I did a bunch of C2s and pulled ~40k fishing xp (without losing my mind which is some sort of achievement). My current slayer task is Nechs, I'm contemplating chinning them in CT (it'll either be that or barrage) but this is dependant on cost and availability of an ACP loan. In the mean-time, I've decided to work on getting 80 agile. Sitting ~250k off with a "less than quarter full" BA Horn, meaning that I won't get the level, but I'll get close (good enough for me to start with).
  6. Fix PC myself. Like a baws. (Has been playing wolfenstein)
  7. Talking about what YOU have observed is YOUR experience. If you were to take a large scale poll then you aren't just representing YOUR observations, you are representing the obversations and views of all voting. Else you are just sitting here throwing your views and opinions and claiming them to be representative of a broader view, without any support. (Hint: "I see it happening" isn't support) Thje fact you keep posting the same gif without actually responding with content does not prove to help you or your argument. But keep standing down and ignoring half my posts. I'm ok with that.
  8. The issue with charging a varied rate for differing hours is that is will be entirely detrimental to the business. I'm not paying for another set of hours having paid AUD$9 already. And by limiting my hours I'm going to turn around and leave the game. I think you'd find many people who'd do the same and that means less money.
  9. Um. I don't think there is any question as to whether or not there are bigger gaming fanbases or communities, but the question is would they be passionate enough about the game to vote for any award (in this case GJAs). You need people who care enough to vote - with or without marketing it, marketing it just makes potential voters aware. They may have communities 100x the size, but without caring these people won't vote. Heck I play RS all the time but I won't be voting because I honestly don't care. Companies running the other games can do exactly what jagex are doing. And if they want the awards they should! The fact there is so much negative press towards RS (although i would question the notion that outside of the RS community that it is completely negative/indifferent but that's neither here nor there) makes winning these awards much more important. The only negative press I've heard from WoW for example is Gold Farmers and rediculous addictions (but no where near the level of the hype about RS). Awards like these serve smaller communities much more than the bigger ones, so it's much more important to a Runescape/Jagex to a larger one like a WoW.
  10. Evidently you missed the point. MY EXPERIENCE differs from YOUR EXPERIENCE. There was nothing else to it. So using that as some sort empirical proof that RS is not popular is rediculous. (And if you had actually read my previous post you'd have seen direct reference to knowing my cousin plays WoW). To simply put popularity down to the amount it is spoken about is taking out chunks of what makes it popular in the first place - people play it. RS may not be AS popular when discussed in games, but the fact it has won the GJA the last 2 years suggests that it is quite popular. Not everyone is around playing multiple MMOs and discussing them all in game.
  11. This isn't about what is the best F2P game, it's about what is the most POPULAR when it comes down to the votes. It's simply a popularity contest, and you need to gather the army of voters however you can. People won't vote unless they are believe it and are passionate enough to do so (either for or against). At the end of the day, you can advertise it all you want it doesn't mean that you're going to get the votes. It seems that the majority of anti-Jagex'ers have a problem with THE BUSINESS. We want more from them, we want better treatment, more content, less bots etc etc ad infinitum but at the end of the day, first and foremost the concerns of the business are keeping the shareholders hapopy, and putting more money in their pockets. THAT is the most apparent issue from my experience as to why people are hate jagex. Doesn't matter who this award goes to, it's going to have some benefit to the game and the company. The only difference it seems between RS and the rest is that Jagex are more overt about the potential for benefit than the others. Transparency :o I've never heard WoW or LoL mentioned in games until this thread. Thus Runescape is clearl ymost popular and gets my vote. Oh my god, someone is criticising them, god forbid him for doing so! how shocking! Seriously... No where did I mention that it waas inappropriate to critisise Jagex, so your comment is either a giant pisstake or hilariously misguided. The assumption that it is egocentric to believe RS is the only game we play because they want us to vote for them is just silly. I'm still yet to find a company when in a - positive - competition would ask you to vote for someone else. It's not how marketing works.
  12. Laptop died. My PC isn't connected to the internet until my old man fixes the cabling (brb 6 months) so sitting on a ~5yo laptop atm. Not much scaping going to happen at this rate without a computer around that is working :L 2 floors: 150k 3 Herb (fellstalk) runes for 145 herbs Also did 5 c2 floors for ~40k fishing xp. With about 280k for 92 I yhope to have it this week :L
  13. Hmm asking supporters to support them to achieve something that will benefit the company. God forbid that'd ever happen :shame: Suggesting that you need high combat level to have experience within the game. Suggesting that all members have absolutely no clue about the F2P game. Assuming no one actually enjoys Runescape. Who gives a [bleep] why people have voted for Runescape. You don't want to - don't. Others want to, don't question their reasoning and make comments about what they've written while voting. I do love the careless voting comment, in that it makes absolutely no sense. Not winning legitimately? I don't see how requesting votes takes away from the legitimacy of the system. Other games don't chase the votes, that's their decision. Lagex do, so what? YOU don't want to vote for them - DON'T. Not hard. Others did - lots. And they won. On the votes. #somehowillegitimate The only game I've ever heard mentioned was WOW and that is because my cousin plays it. Being in uni and playing games is something that people in my crowd keep under wraps, because of the polarised opinions on gamers and gaming. I'm not going to be out promoting something like RS, and others aren't out promoting the games they play, we only find out this stuff incidently (rocking up at their place while they are playing). They want you to vote for Runescape and publish it on the Runescape website. Shocking! That marketing is evil! Admittedly, whilst I am an anti-Jagex fanboy, I just don't see them putting an advert on the homepage saying "vote for League of Legends" as hilarious as it'd be. Marketing 101.
  14. Fishing is the devil. THE DEVIL. You know, I might do that if I ever get to the point I want to get CW games done, and still have my current job :$
  15. Buying power controls prices. If you want to see it as a money grab, that's up to you, but you seem stuck on this idea that costs are universally uniform. Just remember:- ~22m potential consumers in Australia ~307m potential consumers in the US
  16. Alright, so point one that means that the American exchanging costs is nullified right? Doesn't that mean that the Australian cost should be minimal? Not 1/3 of the Membership costs itself? You need to take into account the vast difference in populations of the United States and Australia, which does then trickle down to vast size difference between American "Gaming" Population and the Australian equivilient. They have no need to charge the US the same amount as they do us - in fact it'd be seen as simply a money grab because the profit margins would be much higher. You see $3 difference, the pricing people see it in terms of a profit margin. Charging us $9.95 whatever it is, might only give them a 3% profit margin, but then taking a look at US prices, only be pulling 3% there as well. Simply looking at the raw prices, which is what the majority of customers do, is rarely going to provide an accurate picture of what is going on for the company. Find me a consumer that honestly doesn't want to pay less for their goods. Heck, if I had been able to pay in US dollars when AUD was buying ~$1.05 you bet I would have done it. But from a non-consumer perspective, I can't say. I'm not in possession of all the information that helps determine pricing structures. I would imagine though that given all this data, the team of people that sets these prices, yeah, it does warrant $3 more. The price of CC payment for Aus is cheaper when compared to other methods of pay, but still more expensive than the US. This seems to be the "gripe"
  17. Hm, that seems like the only actual reason. I don't get how the American costs are basically a direct conversion of USD -> Pounds (GBP?) if not a minimal bit more, considering that these USD have to be turned to GBP because Jagex is located in the UK (right?) Shouldn't it be roughly the same for Australians? You have to factor in the EOS factor. The added costs of conversion can easily be nullified by the fact that the US has a much, much larger gamer base than the UK and Australia. So the fixed costs faced to provide the service are reduced, meaning that the price at customer end can be reduced. Eg 1. $1000 bill fixed cost for some boat, 50 people. $20/head Eg 2. $1000 bill fixed cost for the same boat but with 200 people. $5/head So realistically, the cost is going to be much cheaper on boat 2. Now, I'm not sure what costs are faced by Jagex in the entirity, but I'm going to move out on a limb and say that it's much more complex than this and the margins are much smaller. So you can't simply take one factor by itself, you need to take in a number of them.
  18. The answer is more than just this, but a main one is economies of scale. It also may have to do with costs of providing a membership service to us at all (costs money, albeit not $3 worth) in changing from AUD to USD or BPNDS. You cannot simply say the because the US value is [x] and the US membership price is [y] that we should be charged [x]/[y], because costs encountered aren't the same, and it'd be unwise from a business perspective to do so.
  19. ~45k slayer xp since yesterday. Tasks:- Gargoyles (finished) Jungle Wyrms Desert Wyrms Greaters Only thing worth mentioning was passing 17m Defence XP. No drops worth mentioning, no effigies (sadface :L). Penguin hunting last night with a friend for 34k free prayer xp (combined with urn/bonecrusher tasks, I am now sitting 155k from 86 and might suss out another level soon).
  20. The whip task (above) gave a whip (wooh) so I'm ~550k closer to having a good bank again. I urned the entire task, giving me 15k prayer + a spare inf urn (32% filled). Tasks completed yesterday:- Dust Devils Blue Dragons Terror Dogs And began a gargoyles task which dropped a maul (again, a giant wooh). No effigies in the last 5 tasks (horrible!) which is the longest task-streak without once since I started logging tasks. I realise I'd been pretty lucky with them, but I'm always happy to take more xp. Sitting at 466k to 96 Slayer, hoping to have it by next Friday. In the meantime, ladies and gentlemen, Mr Conway Twitty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2aeRg_yMSE
  21. Spork hit it perfectly.
