I like Das too, and knowing what he probably knows I might be inclined to share his opinion. Sadly because of a NDA I will not be privy to what he knows and will have to settle with my current opinion which is based on as much information as I can gather. Yeah, it was on in the background. I didn't get it though. Symbolic? Maybe. But once something that is pure is spoiled, and by anything at all, it'll never be pure again. Having said that this should be a moot point since you were already unpure after you didn't have a guide for ME2 and now we're all just arguing. Having said that, hyperbole aside, I further reiterate that the thing that bothers me most in all this is the treatment of Zybez.

Well Das, as you said Tip had no reason to request a NDA and nothing to hide and Jagex does. Also it's not an issue of you guys threatening anything with them over breach of it, they are clearly going to hang that one over your head. 10 year with no perks? I think we should've gone another ten and remained *completely* independent of them. And I don't get the pic? Qeltar, Tip.it didn't bend over backwards for Jagex, they simply bent over for Jagex.

The original issue many of us have is the method for which Jagex determines the rankings. We also have an issue with what Tip.it has done to improve those ratings. I in particular have an issue with Jagex trying to have a say in what any fansite does in any manner, and am extremely peeved off their treatment of Zybez. On another note, anyone think Jagex is secretly run by Vogons?

In the same way that I vote for a candidate who'll tax someone and give me the money is both beneficial to me and the politician? I get money and he gets a vote. :thumbup:

Mage isn't legally allowed to say what other options there were. Methinks that Jagex is the one holding the legality issue over us. If not for that, I think that he would say if someone wasn't stopping him. :geek:

Well, I only have two and wasn't showing off. I was trying to say that even in their own company there is dissension in the ranks. Did 3_Hit_U take over your brain or something? Believe it or not I'm able to maintain personal and professional relationship with people. It's not something I go into detail much, but I know I have mentioned it before to a few people, such as Ezkaton.

Yews, that was last year and they were able to get ad revenue from other advertisers. However most of them advertised other games. If they didn't advertise other games they'd have no one left willing to. Zybez had no choice in the matter. If was do what they were told and go out of business, or do what they did and get blacklisted. Grom, one I met many, many years ago and have mantained a online friendship since then. The other one I met through an outside site and just by chance they worked at Jagex, amprobability Field I suspect. :rolleyes:

I just talked to two J-Mods in the past half hour, one through email and one on the phone, and both of them didn't agree with the rading of official rankings for influence on a gaming site. They both work in content though so take that for what it's worth. Das, just saying if we were gonna go that route we could've gotten more. :P

While I still don't like the whole thing between Tip and Jagex, much of my hostility about this comes from their treatment of Zybez. As far as selling out goes, I think Tip totally low balled themselves.

I said Dems because a large portion vote Democratic as they get more out of it, i.e. Social Security, Food Stamps, Welfare, and other handouts. This is much the same as Tip doing what they're told for the extra perks. That's why I said Dems because it better resembled the situation. I personally vote Libertarian most of the time. Anyway, since we sold out, can I ask what we're getting out of it? That's pretty much the crux of the matter. You can think it was worth it or it wasn't, and I think it wasn't, but Tip.it absolutely sold out. And while you may think I'm brash and politically incorrect, I have to say thank you, I try real hard. :wink: And Das, we're debating a principal here, regardless of Adblock.

Actually Zybez has been blacklisted for not falling to their knees in worship of the almighty Jagex and not doing what they were told to do.

Cal, towards tip it might be as I get regularly flamed no matter what I post, whether it be casual banter, serious disucssion or serious criticism. My opinion towards Jagex that everyone think I'm just "trolling" is I think somwhat legitimized by their recent actions. And if you disagree, please let me tell how exactly how little I care.

I don't think Jagex are going to ban you, lol. Actually no, I did it before I even knew that he was going to post. I mostly did it for when I have to go under a different name because I get banned for using an adult, if not profane word, on what is apparently a kid site. <_< And like Qeltar said, you guys are being rather hypocritical. Tell you what, be "Just about the Gaming Experience" and we'll be "Just about the community experience." Just a quick note here. This is NOT only a site for kids but it's a site for ALL, that would mean including kids. And I'm sure now that you're obviously very much aware of it you'll do your best not to use profanity or other language not suitable for kids. And I'm also sure you've read the forum rules and are aware that should you happen to get a ban it would be against the rules to create a new account, and would only lead to a the original ban being lengthened. :) Well, as I threatened with a permanent ban, I didn't think that lengthening said ban would really affect me much. And I don't say anything that is harmful to children. Apparently though some people here think that the kids in here are from 1956 and have never heard a word like "nipple" before. Now I don't even say these things in an profane, obscene, or sexual manner and I get in trouble for it. If that's the case then oh well. And I've been on these forums to the point that I think the current set of rules were formed after I joined. To put it frankly, I don't really care anymore. I fear no consequences nor repercussions. As well as considering leaving the site over it's total capitulation to Jagex regardless of me being or not being banned.

I think that's up to the admins to decide, don't you? It was more of a suggestion/opinion.

But they belong on *Jagex's* sites? Can't really grasp the logic there. Can't you report them sites to Jagex just like some people report them sites to tip.it when they appear on this site. Probably not as that would affect *their* stream of revenue which they actually care about.
