RuneScape Information

  1. Responding to the topic, I see what he means. As more and more updates are released, people get access to weapons and food that cause bosses to be utter pushovers. So Jagex is forced to implement tougher bosses. Then they add weapons, armor, food, etc. that cause the new bosses to suffer the KBD effect. Then they add in Corporeal Beasts and Nomads. This is where I hit a problem. I like how they dealt with the Corporeal Beast in Summer's End: evading it and using secondary methods to weaken it abd having it as a "Hunt" boss. Nomad, however, I have a gripe with. You're forced into a fight where it's less a boss battle than a "How fast can you click the brews?" fight. As Jagex piles on more powerful equipment, items, and prayers, they have to make the bosses having 500+ hp with five different kinds on nuclear weapons for attacking. So the question is, now that they have Nomad and the Corporeal Beast as bosses, what next? What else are they going to stack on top of the all-but-one HP bomb and the automatic 75 missile? I really think that Jagex needs to strengthen the "left behind" bosses. Otherwise, there'll just be more of these WTFBOMB farting asspounder bosses. And those do NOT make for a fun game...
  2. I suggest that you range him with ruby bolts (e). Wear magic defense armor because his attacks are magic-based, but switch to melee defense armor when he goes into his fury of blows melee attack mode. Use your curses prayerbook. At first, use Sap Mage but switch to Sap Warrior and Deflect Melee when he does into his fury of blows melee attack mode. When he lays out mines, run directly south, out of the circle of mines. Then run east or west. You need to be diagonally opposite him behind a pillar to avoid his 75-damage attacks. When he created 3 illusion copies of himself, he will always be the last one to attack. Wait for the 3 copies to attack at the same time, and he is the one who attacks after them. When he freezes you in the middle, don't panic and drink all your saradomin brews at once. Shoot him and drink a brew. Wait to take another sip until after you've shot at him again. This way, you keep up the same rate of attacks. Pot up until you have more than your maximum HP. You should have enough time to get to full health before he uses the HP-1 attack. Keep repeating this pattern as he goes through the cycle of his 4 attacks. Once you get him down to about 1/4 HP for the second time, He goes into a fury of blows melee attack mode where there are 3 damage splashes on your character at all times. Remember to don your melee defense armor and switch to melee curses! Throughout the whole battle, always drink 3 saradomin brew doses and then one super restore potion doses. Sometime, though, you will be taking a heavy beating and have to drink more saradomin brews. In that case, drink 6 brew doses and then 2 super restore doses. Using this strategy, I was able to beat Nomad with combat level 110 and range level 82, so you should be able to do it also. Good luck! This is... incredibly helpful. Just a question, how many Brews and Super Restores did you have?
  3. I'm not personally a professional in knowledge of aquanites, but it seems to me that extending prayer would be a valuable thing. So wouldn't the Falador Shields be worth considering? The prayer bonus can be better than that of a god book and it can offer a one-fourth, one half, or even full prayer recovery.
  4. How exactly do I do the decoding sequence?
  5. I rather liked the fiction article, but then, I'm a lover of most fantasy things. Escapism rules \ But as for Fight or Flight.. I found the article a little lacking. The problem for me was that it wasn't particularly coherent at points. I'm still not entirely sure what the article was about. First it was about repetitive actions, then it was about the point of repetition, and then it was something about the long haul. Oddly enough, for me, the most irritating part of the article was the relevance of the title. I'm still not sure how the phrase "Fight or Flight," relates to the article itself.
  6. I'd say you're right. I don't see why people have any interest in the wise old man's telescope. No one ever mentions the random telescope on the balcony in varrock. Then people assume that since it's facing south it must be looking at the wizard's tower. has anyone here stopped to think maybe that telescope is a decoration, like the one in varrock, likely to be found in any study, anywhere. Stupid rumors from stupid ideas. -.- besides if the wise old man wanted to spy on somewhere he'd likely do it by magic. the telescope is probably just for stargazing. I'd say it's probably more associated with scopes in out POH, or the observatory. Well... hmm. Not saying your *wrong* or anything, but before you so easily dismiss evidence, I think maybe you should go into the WOM's house and look through the telescope? Just a thought, since unlike normal decorations, there is a view option on it. I have listed below what you see in it, put inside hide tags if your to lazy to go see the telescope yourself. [hide=]If you look into the Wise Old Man's telescope at his house, it shows a live window pointed directly at the Wizards Tower. If someone is standing at the tower, and you look through the telescope, you can actually SEE them from the Wise old Mans house. Pretty cool huh? Also when you ask him about the telescope and where its pointed, he gives a shifty answer and immediately changes the subject refusing to answer. That is why people have an interest in the scope.[/hide] I don't know. Before it was pointed at the bank, and the WOM robbed it. Now it's pointed at the Wizard's Tower, and in one of his books, he mentions something about needing runes. Not only that, he seems to hate aiding the Mahjarrat in any way. Although, with the post I mentioned before, there is the theory of Mahjarrat lifeforce being around magic, so this is a possibility, albeit tenuous. I still don't really believe the WOM has anything to do with it... :|
  7. I think I figured out what the Syzygy is! \ In the aforementioned thread on the RSOF (QFC - 16-17-565-58475705) there is a quote from General Khazard that they mention upon. "The planets are nearing alignment; we will meet in the place of half light and ice soon. Beware of the others, for though they are weak and few, they are cunning." ~The message that Khazard asks you to tell his Scouts in the Shadow Sword quest. They also heavily reference upon a "ritual". Now, from what I've read, Syzygy is an alignment of planets, yes? And Khazard says that the planets are aligning, yes? So perhaps, this syzygy thing will be heavily involved with the rebirth of the Mahjarrat. As for the "scopes," there are three main scopes to think of: WOM's telescope, and house telescope, but those two don't seem substantial enough to be of import to it. The Observatory, however, is a whole different matter. Not only does the Observatory quest teach us a bit about the months, which are heavily mentioned in the letter, observatories are used to observe planets, correct? So perhaps the observatory is of importance. I highly recommend looking at the RSOF post I mentioned and cross-reference it with the information here. This seems to cross over far too much to just be coincident.
  8. Just wondering, for ranging black dragons, wouldn't Range Void set be more useful than Black Dragonhide? You'd be getting the 15% bonus, and, IMO, that would speed up the trips a bit. I mean, the setup you use is to maximize range bonus, but wouldn't getting more potential damage outshadow the accuracy? Either way, 10/10 for an excellent guide.
  9. Just a little bit of info relating to the Temple Building guide, the rewards from the Columbarium include, along with what are already listed, the three sets of God trimmed Rune armour and Rune (t) and (g) armour.
  10. First, your attempt to create irony just looks [developmentally delayed]. Nobody is claiming you're killing puppies, ok? If you're trying to sound like a writer, you failed. Second, please tell me you're aren't so dense that you honestly believe that when calls you a "pot nub", they're telling you to tank Sara GWD without prayer. [developmentally delayed]. Nobody gives a flying [cabbage] about how you use prayer pots at black demons. What people don't like about potting is how you are so desperate for "success" in the duel arena that you're pulling pots, while at the same time doing nothing but proving that you don't have the skill or levels required to take down your opponent, so you have to play cheap, doing something you're pretty sure your opponent won't be doing, just for a chance to win. I mean, seriously. Sure it's not against the rules. That doesn't mean it's not cheap, and that doesn't mean it makes you look skilled. You look like a [bleep] gimp when you have to play underhanded just so you stand a chance. And when the only reason to visit the duel arena anymore is to fool around and see if you're the best, you're just proving to everybody else that you suck. So you put it under automatic assumption that I'm trying to sound like a writer AND that I'm developmentally delayed? Look, if either of us here is a "gimp," it's you for flaming me right off the bat. Second, I'm not saying that someone automatically expects me to tank any of the GWD bosses without prayer, I'm saying that it's ridiculous how people automatically assume that every fight is going to be fair. JaGex put potions in the game, so by god I will use them. And by the by, I haven't used prayer pots in a year. Next, you say that I'm desperate for success. How about this, you're so desperate for attention and to make up for a lack of [cabbage], that you go and flame someone who is simply ranting about what irks them? Here's a little phrase for you: Assumptions make an [cabbage] out of you and me. I mean seriously. It's not against the rules, so why the freaking hell are you bashing me for trying to post a thread that is simply there to rant a little. I don't care that I don't look skilled, but what right does that give you to call me a "gimp" if I'm just trying to use something that is in the game. I don't go to the arena to prove I'm the best, I go there randomly. I don't see what irked you so flipping much that you have to go and say that "you're just proving to everybody that you suck". I don't recall ever doing anything to you, so how about you read this message, and stay the hell off of this thread. The fact is, I'm not interested in being flamed over putting out my opinions. If people think I pot to make myself look strong, that's their problem, but I haven't heard anyone saying that to me. So listen, why don't you take your anger and insecurity and post it on your own thread, or maybe you can go [cabbage] off to some RS videos of people being "Fair" and dueling each other, how about that?
  11. Thank you, I'm glad you agree. You get a cookie for seeing the point I was trying to make *gives cookie*
  12. Okay, to start this off, I use pots. I am not ashamed to say it, and I'm not ashamed to do so. Why the devil should I be ashamed of using potions in the duel arena? Because someone that DOESN'T use them calls me a "n00b" or a "potter"? Because as soon as they're being used on you, they're the most evil thing that JaGex ever developed? That Dharoks isn't at least five times cheaper?! Really, it disgusts me. Yes, I use potions in the duel arena. OMIGAWD! No, but really, I don't see what the big deal is. All I do is swing my Dragon Battleaxe around and say "Rargh," drink a potion, put on Piety, and pull out my scimitar. What is so evil about doing that? Am I commiting a warcrime? Am I abusing a feeble old woman? Am I drowning puppies? Honestly, it's just a strategy to improve chances of winning, not something that you should call someone a noob for. And if you didn't want to fight someone using potions, then turn off the drink option. #-o The brain hurts, doesn't it? Now, on to the hypocrisy. I'm sure we've all fought something that was difficult to beat. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A QUESTER. I am, as was said, a quester. I love 'em, and I praise Tip.It for the excellent guides that they give. But I digress. Now, I've fought strong monsters, and maybe you have too. CONTAAAAACT!!! :wall: But yeah. Lets take a look here. We have monsters such as Kamil, Fareed, Dessous, and Damis. Also, their foodlike counterparts. There was the Sea Troll Queen, The Inadequacy, Barrelchest, and other Quest monsters. Was it shameful to use food and potions against them? And then we come to the "Awe" monsters. KQ, KBD, Steel Dragons, Jad, K'ril Tsutsaroth, General Graardor, Commander Ziliyana, Kree'arra, and our most recent and, most likely the cruelest, addition, the fearsome... CORPOREAL BEAST! :o Now who in there right mind says it's nooby to use pots against these things? I mean, maybe the KBD doesn't pose as great a threat as he did in the past, (No offense, KBD, I still avoid you :ohnoes: ) but that doesn't stop people from using Super Sets and antipoisons when fighting him. The same applies to our beetle-like mistress, the KQ. Yeah, now we have Veracs, but that's not stopping us from using potions. And potions are absolutely necessary when fighting GWD bosses, Tz-Tok Jad, and the mighty Corporeal one. I simply do not see why potions are considered nooby. I bet there'd be a lot less Dragon Chains and Full Helms floating around if people couldn't use potions. I'll bet that we wouldn't see nearly as many Fire Capes. I'd wager that a lot of the items we've come to know and love would be just dreamers objects. So what makes it bad for people to use pots? Because they're using it against you? Consider this: The GWD Bosses with Pots. Jad using pots. MR. CORPOREAL USING POTS! The fact is, they're simply part of victory strategies. Just because someone uses a super strength potion against you, or goes on a rampage with their Dragon Battleaxe and then calm down with some harralander and spider eggs in a vial, doesn't mean that they are noobs. Why should they be insulted for wanting to win? Yeah, it's not pleasant to lose. It's even less pleasant when you know you wasted a potion in the effort! :? But that doesn't mean that you have the right to call someone a "fr00bkake" for taking a sip of something that probably doesn't taste that good. I guess what it boils down to is a person's opinion. Some people don't mind using pots, some think that people who use them are weak. I personally think that they are an effective way to secure a victory, but I often find it at the cost of being insulted and finding the victory somewhat less appealing. Maybe that's what the aim is, to make the victory less satisfying. But honestly, if you're going to complain about people using pots, maybe you should just turn off the option to drink.
  13. What about Zamorak? ......... <--- One Eye of Saradomin in High wild ...........| <---------Neck of Zamorak? ........./|\ <---------Shoulders of Zamorak? .......(.).|.(.) <----- Fist of Guthix ........../\<---------Thighs of Zam..? *slapped by censorship* Ow... ......../....\<--------Feet of Zamorak? Oh, the possibilities.. \
  14. "Dang, I knew I shouldn't have taken that last left turn #-o " "This is why people don't carry phats into the wild  " "I poked the Chaos Elemental... I'm never doing that again :wall: " "Why the devil didn't you tell me he had veracs!?" "Well. This is the kind of situation I got 'the angel of death' for \ " "Oh my god, you freaking two timing dillhole! I thought we were friends! " "You think you killed me? What's that behind you then?" "All I wanted was to do this clue! Well, guess what?! GIANT FREAKING TOMBSTONE! WHAT NOW?!"
  15. Just so you know, Rock crabs should be added, they have a great training ratio 50hp, lvl 13. I gained 10k exp from them easy. Also, add the option of PC, the points for exp and the game itself are excellent training.
