Are animals intelligent?
Vegetables are more intelligent than their human vegetables. Probably better tasting too. I wouldn't know, but I do know a guy who runs a Delicatessen and uses his tennants for meat. Mmmm It's address please? I've been looking for a good lunch stop.

Steam Problem
I just tried to buy CS:S, and it said "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance." Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? Or is it a problem on Valve's end? Side Question: I have Tf2, Portal, Hl2 and both episodes, Left 4 Dead, Lost Coast, the whole Source engine package without CS:S. Some textures in Gmod still appear as purple and black checkerboard though, and some props are still errors, some grounds are still wireframe. Will getting CS:S eliminate this?

Are animals intelligent?
Hmmm, I think cats are mostly on instinct, but have some level of basic emotion. Ex. My cat was really the center of attention in my house, but when we started babysitting my cousins baby, he kind of needs alot of that attention. Now my cat is jealous of him. Not sure yet though if it's jealousy or if she just feels he's in her territory, though she doesn't get pissed off with anyone else, and he's the only one to take some petting time from her. And it's sorta been proven that primates are intelligent (they're able to use tools to help themselves, like skewering a bug on a stick, stuff like that.

A timeless song, ruined?
The actual Rick Astley song IMO is pretty alright, but anything song by Disney after the year 2000 is garbage.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Just realized something. You don't need to wait for the zombies to rot to nothing, just the muscle. It still will take awhile, but far quicker than waiting for them to be dust.

Are animals intelligent?
Two trolls in this thread so far. Can we try for 10 by the ned of the weekend? To unspam: I think that primates are intelligent, and some others are, but not many. Sometimes intelligence gets confused with instinct though. Sometimes I wonder

Zombie Plans-Revised
Let's review my plan and we'll see how you guys can pick it apart. Find a small area in the countryside, a farmhouse and a barn, and around it dig a ten foot by 3 foot ditch around. This should keep them at bay. For more safety, next to that ditch just behind it build a ten foot wall with barbed wire on top. While checking the status if the wall daily, they pretty much WILL NOT get in. As for staying alive. Have several people with me, all with decent close range weapons, and a few of us have medium range weapons. Get a farming patch going for food, and after about 5 years, try to repopulate. This small population of humans should stay here for anywhere between 30-50 years, and by then leave, since by now the zombies will have rotted down to nothing. If the epidemic is over before then, then help will be bound to come before those years are up. Unless people are [wagon], and watch the small people farm for decades just laughing at them. The only problem I still haven't figured out is, what would be an indefinite water supply?

I'll vouch for that, sneezing feels great! Not for the person in front of you.

Interesting/Epic Chemical Reactions?
This is actually a chemical example. When you remove any minerals and make it pure water you remove the nucleosites. It's at these sites that you start to see water boil. This is why you can get water hotter than boiling in a glass container in a microwave. Then if you shake it it'll bubble. i thought it was physic? the water boiling is caused by the movement of particles in the water that is increased when heat is applied making it bubble. not because of a chemical reaction? You really know nothing about chemistry do you. nope was never my thing preferd bio actually. I always thought that it WAS from particles moving? After all, isn't temperature a measure of the kinetic energy of surrounding atoms?

American Congress Passed Mandatory Service Bill
Maybe. That's for the Supreme Court to decide, if they ever get the chance to decide.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Not really a trailer, but a teaser. Don't you guys think it's a little early for a real trailer? CoD WaW didn't get a trailer until like 3 months before it came out.

She's 14, not 2. Granted she's a dumb 14 year old, but that's plently old enough to know right from wrong.

Interesting/Epic Chemical Reactions?
So basically, if Francium touches any atoms other than Francium, pop?

Interesting/Epic Chemical Reactions?
As Lionheart edited into the initial post, since Francium doesn't exist on video until a way to contain it is found, just post awesome and interesting chemical reactions of things, doesn't just have to be the Alkoli metals. Could Francium be stored in a vacuum?

Left 4 Dead
Pssst. Pre-SDK. And besides, you need to play with friends for maximum fun, all with mics. Pubs just suck.

Interesting/Epic Chemical Reactions?
Hmmm. So I guess this thread will serve two more purposes. 1. More discussion on Francium and the Alkoli metals. 2. POAST MOAR NOOKZ!

Interesting/Epic Chemical Reactions?
I need some help in finding a video. It started today in Science class. My teacher showed a video of some guy putting the different Alkoli metals in water to test the reaction of each one. Starting with Sodium, it went all the way down to Caesium. But there should have been one other one, Francium, at the end. I asked the teacher about it, and she said that Francium is very rare, only about 400 grams of it exist on Earth, and it's radioactive. Now for the fun part. Does anyone have a video of someone putting Francium in water? Supposedly it should react way, WAY more violently than Caesium (which is the second most violent one, beaten only by Francium). This is a video of Caesiums reaction with water. [yt]mEMZoFV_1-M[/yt] And that was only a small amount. Consider Francium as the nuke of the Alkoli metals. A video of Francium + Water would probably be really epic. The problem: Because it's rare, it may never have been recorded, and if it has, I sure can't find the vid. Mods, if you feel this is spam feel free lock. People can also post stuff about cool chemical reactions! (Not just videos though). ~Lionheart_0
