There are no cheaters. The corridor you're talking about has many entrances if I'm right about the one you're talking about. In fact, I'm sure it's the one on The Pit since you mentioned a sword room. In which case, there's 3 entrances. Everything you said can be explained. Cheaters are no reason to not Get H3 because there are no cheaters besides the noobs that use standby, and in my 2000 something games that has happened to me exactly once, and I can't even say for sure that they were doing it then.

I just had myself a nice big juicy slab of steak, covered in Emeril Steak Rub. Before the ESRB, parents were complaining because they were too stupid to watch what their kids were playing. Now that there is a ratings system, they STILL buy M rated games for their 7 year old saying "My little Jimmy is so mature for his age." Then a week later they come back to the store yelling because little Jimmy is now a gang banger.

I truly hope your joking. @Dizzle .. Both would not be classed as easy .. At all especialy mercs 2 with all its bugs. @Steve: Yes it would be alot more fun but getting 10k kills most people don't even get legitly but glitched. And the points come in so much slower. And it isn't very buggy at all, I've had it for a week without any real bugs.
