Shouldn't Jagex just restrict potential gained when in combat for extended periods of time with the same person? That doesn't seem hard, if they can be as specific as this update. That would prevent a lot more... Sorry if that was already suggested :P

Death Plateau would unlock this quest, and you need to start it (I'm not sure if you have to defeat Dad). Start the quest and see what happens. I'm assuming you already have climbing boots ;).

That's false, it was thought to be based on number of cannonballs at first, but cannons decay by time set up. My cannon once decayed when I wasn't even using it.

I believe he can be lured somewhat, he does disappear if you go too far, but he can be lured. Can't confirm though, I killed him face-to-face.
