  1. Dear Ceblue, thank you for your response. Please, consider the following, how the whole thing began. qeltar wrote: This update is going to eliminate a lot of the arbitrage opportunities formerly used by merchants. Arbitrage meaning buying in one market and selling in another. It will also get rid of people who make money by preying on those who don't know what items sell for, or who take advantage of others. That's a Good Thing. I responded: Good thing for who? maybe if you dont know prices thats a good thing for you, I know them and I use my knowledge and effort to make $, its not a good thing for me. He wrote: I believe there's a clear distinction between merchants who get paid to provide a service, and those who merely take advantage of others, or the inability of the current system to let buyers and sellers find each other. The former are reasonable, because they effectively trade their time for money. The latter are simply vultures, and if a new update puts them out of business, it's good for the vast majority of players and for the game as a whole. I consder his last response a direct attack on me alas the second he posted that I lost any respect for him as an intelectual contributing to the overal debate and saw him as another jealous nuisance. My logic may be wrong, may not be. At the end of the day though qeltar being there or not doesnt change anything. Just like me being there or not doesnt change anything. He aruges the point that $ is irrelevant strongly, so I ask him, give me all of yours if it doesnt matter :) Lastly, being in my position, be it being a mercahnt and coming in contact with people all day long, or be it being a wealthy player and dealing with stupidity, I have come to realise that most people can be divided into categories. Based off of everything that he said from my personal experience qeltar fits the jealousy stereotype perfectly, especialy when he said "i know people who coulda had billionz blah blah blah", that is by far one of the most common statements made by that stereotype. Ultimately, my goal here isnt to put the fire out. Ill quote a phrase, but sadly I dont remember where its from... So yes, im fihgting ingnorance with ignorance in hopes of getting him so angry that he drops the subject and lets his aggression out elsewhere :)
  2. No, what makes him right and you wrong is the fact that he uses logical arguments based on sound economic knowledge, while you -- do not. curmudgeony: I think eventually Jagex is going to release a more useful potion for leveling above Sara Brews, at which point Brews are going to go way up in terms of price. They are certainly far more useful than their price implies. ~q Heres a blunt answer. If you know so much about economics of the game (whatever you read on wikipedia or googled does not apply) then perhaps you would be so kind as to post an example of your financial achievements? Oh wait, they are not important... but niether is your contribution if you dont value $, this is a discussion about $ and the way GE will affect it. You are not a mercahnt and thus are less qualified with you real life examples due to complete and utter lack of ingame merchanting experience. This isnt truthcape I think you may have the wrong door.
  3. Ego, It took me a while to read through all these posts, and while I tend to agree with the basic idea of the timeline you put out, I must disagree with the assertion that rares are the backbone of the RS economy. In RS as IRL, there are those with large amounts of disposable income and those without. A real world equal of the "classic" rare..a P-Hat, would be say a luxury yacht, an Enzo Ferrari might be a red h'ween mask, and so on. The very rarity is what gives them value, not the functionality. A backbone of anything, whether it be the economy or a network, is primarily based on volume...whatever part carries the most load. So yes, while in RS, there are a few specific items that have an enormous monetary value, the constant day to day volume of things like yews, natures, bowstrings, sharks, etc are the true backbone of the rs economy. Rarers are valuable as money sinks..I'll go as far as investments, but their enormous market value is based on the generation of excess wealth with which these are purchased. For every Hat trade one imagines that there are thousands or tens of thousands of more mundane trades...sharks, potions, logs, etc. This not only forms the backbone for the economy as a whole by sheer volume, but as a byproduct generates the cash necessary to purchase the luxury items. I don't disagree that rares in themselves are worth a tremendous amount of cash, but the fact that they are so expensive relegates them to a stratified few. Alright, consider this then. In runescape, you have your rares. Lets take 2 most expensive ones. A x-mas cracker and a blue party hat. Either of those rares will allow 1 to buy 1-99 in every buyable skill, best armor, and a ton more. Furthermore, the overall combined value of all the rares in the game is far greater than anything else. Now the exact # of rares is unknown but a good anology in my point of view owuld be to compare it to dark matter. Exact amount is unknown, but we know its there and constitutes the majority of the universe. The way I see it, when owning 1 item can do so much for you, that item category is the backbone of the economy. Lastly, I will add this. Consider if rares were completely taken out of this game, what would that mean? $ would lose its value greatly. People would no longer need to save milions to buy them. Wouldnt you agree that weather or not they are the backbone of the economy or not is simply dependant on perspective and to a degree experience with them? Either way, dont get hung up on the term backbone, it was the initial prediction for the first week or 2 of the release of exchange that I wanted to describe. The decrease in prices accross the board and maybe collapse in rare market. Who knows, maybe it happens maybe it doesnt, perhaps post you ropinion of what will happen if you disagree :)
  4. Oh so you are like... a teacher... dont recall needing one... Point is this whole thing is fueled by merchant hatred. Those who hate and show jealousy will not reason to reason, so im giving them something to hate even more. If I needed your teachings or thought I had made a mistake that might be different... but I dont need to be taught. And I dont wnat to get into it, but Duke is the person I respect least due to his hipocracy so he wont get a civil response out of me.
  5. Actually, Yet again your ignorance doesnt allow you to learn from your mistakes. If 5-6 people are attacking you, thats a hint of you doing something wrong. "Only a select few can get a party hat, so I am better then people who achieve skillcapes'', thats a rough translation to you. I suggest you take critism, take your time to learn from your posts. Like most of the people around here. We are not your enemy's, we are not the dark side, we don't care about your feelings, your items, your intelligence or your real life. Just about your replies, so I suggest you stop trying to defend yourself and just take it like a man, instead of b*ing about like a child. I applaud to you if you read past the ignorance part. Since you would already be offended by that. Once again even if its 1000000000000 vs 1 ill still argue my point. I dont give into hypocritical nonsense driven by personal attacks. Take a party hat out of your avatar before you attempt to argue your point, might give it more validity. Better yet, try reading through the whole thread before jumping in, that might also give you validity. Lastly my feelings are as hurt as my caring about your critisism. Sad reality of this thread and this game is that despite what you may think and how right may think you are I still come out ahead.... ultimately... you are just not important im sorry :(
  6. Solidus_77, just because you write big posts and attempt to discredit me does not make you right or me wrong. Its my choice to debate with you or not, I choose not to because of the manner you debate. Initialy I was trying to argue my points with you until you began your attacks on me and taking jabs at me at which point I realised its a waste of time. This will most likely be my last response to you, unless you somehow become civil. On last note, its not a feud between me and duke, its dukes vendetta against me and my infinite joy over his ban.
  7. Dear mario_sunny: I made my $ back when most of the merchants were friends and worked together, except for one, duke freedom. Primarily, it was me and unleash1 working together and quite a few other merchants sort of mimicing us. Although we did not achieve monopoly, we did achieve something close to it. When summertrees joined our little duo, the 3 of us started buying out all blue party hats. Anyone who sold 1, 1 of us 3 would instantly buy it. And we did so until we had a lot of them. Well, considering there was much less merchants back then, most party hat merchants started buying them too, demand naturaly went up on its own. At the peak of its demand we would start selling them off. The price difference between buy and sell was quite a bit so even with 1 hat you could make a decent profit. Eventualy price would stabilize.
  8. I haven't been playing for 3 years. And guess what.. that same 3 year gap is how you made most of your money (assuming you got the Burger King hats legitimately.) They were worth a LOT more when you got back than they were when you left. Cuts both ways. Well, then why don't you go find some sites that have guides as detailed as mine or that describe, for example, how to get 45k Ranged XP per hour AND make money by cannoning ice trolls? Don't hold your breath. Oh, and if you can try to accuse me of having cheated on your site, guess what.. people can just as easily accuse you of having cheated to get your silly hats. Actually, you've shown quite clearly that you care about people fawning over you a LOT. The question is: why? That's what bragging MEANS. This is becoming truly funny. The real point is that you obsess over RS gold because you feel insecure and need others to recognize your "wealth" and make you feel important. I hope some day you can get past this, and realize how misguided your approach has been. You can have the last word as I am not devoting any more time to this silliness. whats with selective responding and avoiding the direct points? I mean, if you gonna respond, respond to everything and not with some cookie-cutter watered down repetative nonsense :( Its amaizing how while accusing me you keep advertising something else the whole time, be it your skills or your site. So why do you have a site and advertise it? in hopes of some form of recognition from someone...? Ill tell you a little secret... if i detect in the slightest that someone in game is a friend of mine because of financial reasons I cut them lose. I show off $ because I earned it and thus earned the right to show it off... just like you advertise your useless site... because you wrote it and now you want others to see... Do you honestly think that you calling me a bragger will in any way affect the reality of my playing experience? And please, if you gonna respond, respond to everything not selectively... that is ofcourse.. if you know what ot say after being cornered in your own bliss of ignorance. edit: respond to this! Yet again, you bring up real life. I am yet to mention anything about real life, and you keep bringing it up as if it somehow makes your point more legitimate. You mock my advertising of my riches, then you make a point to advertise that your stats are better than mine. You advertise your site at the same time. So let me get this straight, its ok to advertise copy-paste sites and stats, just not $?
  9. Well, how should I put it, I dont need a guide to tell me how to play the game, you know, im one of those people that learned on his own... I dont wear a party hat in game, they just sit in my back, obviously in your futile attempt of fihgting ignorance with more ignorance you didnt read the part where I used it as an example to make the point. Ahh, why borther, not like you people read anyways, you are obviously here to judge because you are righteous and mighty. Pass down your judgement good lord, smite those unworth merchants! You are so important to runescape. ps. qeltar I hope you dont advertise that site in game, someone can report you and youll be banned, ive seen it happen lol. edit: I just noticed another oxymoron, you have a party hat in your avatar, ROFL, wow, just wow.... stupidity truely has no boundaries.
  10. If he was worth getting to know he wouldnt have started his initial posts with merchant hatred and foaming at the mouth. I dont need to get to know him to know what kind of person he is based off of what he said. There is debating and hten there is resorting to any form of personal attack or arugment to prove a point. I am simply playing his game and retaliating, like I said, fihgt ignorance with more ignorance, cept I have mr. 10 bil on my side :) More pompous parading... Your argumentum ad nauseum is getting old. I suggest you use something else to back up your arguments other than "z0mg j00 r jeluz of mai geepees and becuz of mai geepees i r moar smartar dan you and know wot i am talking aboot bettar dan u!!!" It's just not working for you. try reading my other 3 or 4 posts? or which part of fight ignorance with ignorance didnt you get... oh wait... thats you fihgting my ignorance with your ignorrance so your legitimate attempt at making a point is just a way of you showing that you are ignorant... so wait, you could have just told me that you are ignorant... where am i?
  11. dear qeltar, please, allow me to further expalin something. I have been gone 3 years, since before slayer came out, you know, the whole 3 years youve been grinding skills, i have been doing something else :) good thing internet doesnt have 100's of sites like that to copy from :( fail again Actauly, I dont respond in game to anyone unless its a frined or someone buying or selling, I couldnt care less, im just pointing out the obvious. You keep using pixel $, we are playing a pixel game, yet you keep saying pixel this pixel that as if you are somehow above those pixels. Here, you are writing guides on how to kill pixel monsters and at the same time mocking the pixel items they drop... whats the word for that... oxymoron i think. You call it bragging, I call it showing off my vast wealth Merchanting is a concept of buying for cheap and selling for less, so let me get this straight, you hate all pkers and stakers because they take advantage of people? I mean show some consistency if you are going to make a false attempt at showing integrity. For the love of reading comprehension, what is price manipulating? Me buying 20 blue party hats because I can afford them and then selling them, without making a single false claim or false advertisement is not price manipulation, but hey, if you wonna call it that you just further convinced me of exactly how low your IQ is. Actualy, yet again your low IQ didnt allow you to see the point. The point here is party hat > skill cape. Anyone given enough time can achieve a skil cape, but only select few can achieve a party hat was my point, sorry if it was too complicated for someone of your vast intelligence.
  12. 10 bil on my side :)
  13. Dear Ceblue, thank you for your well thoughtout legitimate response. I assure you that I am 100% legitimate in a sense that I have never stolen, hacked, scammed, or anything else of that nature. Over time people have trusted me with things ranging from santa to all their party hats to hold, I had never stolen, and never will. I am strongly against thiefs, cheaters, scammers in general and if I see one in action I always make it a point to report them. Qeltar is driven by hatred towards merchants it seems, or atleast strong dislike. But, where does one get such feelings from? Based off of his stereotype respones and the initial agression towards merchants in his early posts my natural guess is jealousy. Not of me in particular, but merchants in general and their ability to do what they want, when they want, how they want it. When you mention obsessing over wealth, I look at it different. I am rubbing it in his face just to make him more angry and more jealous, for it amuses me greatly. Fight fire with fire and fight ignorance with ignorance eh? If he is going to blindly hate merchants, might as well give him more to hate (or be jealous of, lol). Another way I see it is a way for him to look important and justify his existance. I mean considering the fact that nobody ever heard of qeltar, if he starts a fight with somebody who quite a few people know he might somehow get noticed, maybe get some support as well eh? Point is, with these teengars on the internet and runescape in particular its really hard to know their true motives for stupidity.
  14. Dear Qeltar: Afrer reading your last post ive come to realise that I have been trying to argue with somebody whose intelligence quotent is that of average room temperature. I am sorry for trying to reason with you, allow me to post in a manner best beffiting someone of your caliber This is untrue. It's just a self-delusion that some merchants tell themselves so they can stick their heads in the sand and ignore some of the legitimate reasons why merchants are disliked. Sure, some of it is due to jealousy, but there are many other reasons why merchanting is looked down upon: For me, this thread wasnt to try to find out why people dislike merchants and then try to change my evil ways to please the likes of you. However, youve made it very clear the reasons for which you in particular dislike merchants and after reading through your threads carefully I have come up with the following. #1 Inferiority complex: You feel unhappy about yourself due to the fact that merchants out there outplay you by a large margin. I understnad how hard it has been on you, training combat for days to no end to try to accomplish something. #2 Sour Jealousy: I understand your pain when you see somebody who has barely killed anything combat wise (aka me) and parading around in best gear imaginable. I know how bad you want that dragon chain, but that stupid queen just refuses to drop it. See, I dont want to spend my life fighting kalphite queen and hating everyone else for my own failure so I just bought my dragon chain. #3 Financial: You no longer have to pretend to hate money and at the same time make states such as "You have no idea what I have or dont have". Based on everything you said, your every response I can safely assume that in all your times playing you try very hard to safe up every penny in order to at some point afford something good. Unfortunately, inflation doesnt wait for you. However, you keep on saving up buddy. #4 Respect: Lastly, it must kill you that a low life merchant, who has not done a days worth of hard work being so rich. You must try to understand, in a game revoling around $ the mindless masses respect $ and not big speeches. Despite your personal preference, $ is the most important thing in this game. Sure, its about fun as well, but fun is a matter of perspective. Although you may find it fun to mindlessly range or melee different monsters hoping for a drop, for me, fun is making 100 million in 1 day and then parading it around and buying nice things for myself and my friends. This is a good case of pot calling kettle black. You went into this thread with nothing but disrespect and as such you got no respect in return. Have you tried displaying some civility you mave have been treated like a person as opposed to jealous slime on the bottom of my boot. Despite what you may think, merchanting is a very simple concept. Both people go into the trade thinking that they are getting a good deal. Furthermore, you dont know me or anything about me, but all you would need is to ask 1 of my friends about my moral integrity and character to see just what kind of person I am. Dont make assumptions, you judged me for making assumptions about you being dirt poor (for which you fit the stereotype perfectly) What does this have to do with anything? A market that is controlled by teenage gatherers (miners, fishers, etc) can be easily altered by enough people with understanding of the games economy. Now this statement here just proved to me just how low your IQ really is. So you think a 14 year old kid who spent his whole summer doing Pest Control to get to 99 range has paid his dues? When that same kid proceed to go stake someone and kill them with ease to make millions in a day? In 1 point you talk about taking advantage of people and in another you talk about pking, like pking and staking doesnt take advantage of people? Atleast with merchanting both parties walk away with something? You sir are an idiot. I can't? Watch me. I hereby deny the achievement of having a lot of money. There, that was easy. Its a good thing you matter. Ill offer you a simple test. Pick a world and come stand next to me in that world wearing whatever you want. I will come there with nothing on but my blue party hat. Who do you think will gather a crowd, your skill cape or my hat? lol. Ofocurse oyu might say things like I dont care blah blah blah, point here being nobody cares what you consider an achievement or not, its what everyone else considers an achievement. You are projecting what you consider important onto others. Just because you think having pixel money is essential, it doesn't mean others do. Every time someone in this game started talking about wealth this and that and I would show party hats their immediate responce was .... "oh yea? I know somebody who has 70 blues!" or something else stupid along those lines. Im sure you know all those people and this and that, once again, you fit the stereotype of a jealous drooling teenager barking and the master because he dindt get fed. Im sure, somehow, after all youve said I HIGLY doubt it, but you are welcome to prove it, like I said, I call your bluff. "We, we, we". Again, you don't speak for everyone. YOU may raise levels to get money but that's not why many others do it. Why do people get 99 in Herblore or Agility or Crafting? It's not for the money, I assure you. Why do people get 4,000 Chompy kills or max out on CW tickets? It's not for money. Etc. Ok, you think somebody who has a lot of free time and kills chompys to fill it up deserves your respect... go ahead and respect them... I think somebody who understands this game and can turn nothing into something deserves mine. Wrong. Not the same goals at all. For most people, money is a means to an end. They want money to buy something they like and to use it. So you disagree that $ is important? Ok, if its not, would oyu kindley give me all your $ and give out all your stuff to those beggars... im sure people respect you for your charming personality... Actualy, I have $ for all purposes. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645 Screen shot of my bank, as you can see, I dont have that much cash, just my rares and stuff for skills. So what exactly is your problem? I understand you are jealous, but let it go and grow up. In conclusion, I want to say again, if you claim $ is not important #1 prove it, and #2, can I have it since it doesnt matter to you?
  15. You met my logic half way... where does one get said $ to get said cheap goods quickly? Incease he or she does not have said $? They will sell something else and at times cheaper.. This price decrease will be accross the board, not permanent, but initial. Yes, eventualy prices will stabilize and some prices might even be different from what they are now, time will tell. Btw, merchanting will never die simply because of those truely lazy people who rather sell at the bank :) As for world2 dying, thats a good thing, world2 was fun years ago when it was a place to buy and sell phats :(
  16. What happend when construction came out? people sold rares to buy supplies. It happens when new skill comes out that people wonna buy or when people simply need $. I am not saying it will happen 100%, but that it can happen and it may, think about it. If people need $ to buy cheap things on exchange in large amounts they might be inclined to sell them and follow the same undercutting principle?
  17. Good talking to ya buddy, of all the people I knew in this game you are by far the most special one in my heart <3
  18. I've said the same thing, too. Most of the top players account share, at the very least. There is no other plausible way they could earn as much experience in as short a time period as they do. But the public always retorts with "but jadex wud ban dem" No, it would look unprofessional on Jagex's behalf if they banned someone who was in the top ten in total levels. Therefore, they turn the other cheek. Only legitimate skiller that i personaly knew and talked with was the old nite, also a great guy, im still very upset over him passing away. Im pretty sure despite his little itnerview zima isnt legit, but I dont have proof, just my opinion, dont know about others. 1 last thing, duke, stop acusing me and think back to WHO you traded with that resulted in your and what he did... were your ethics on vacation that day?
  19. Solidus, if this was a debate I would continue, however, its not, you and your buddy resort to insults and just aobut anything else. You say I dont understand economics, thats your opinion. As for responding to duke and debating with him, been there done that and most likely before you even knew him. Duke, cheating is cheating. And no matter how many times I explained to you it was easier to assume that I was a cheater although I have never, not once false advertised. I actualy bought and sold - others mimiced and resorted to other forms of cheating to get their profits, I was rich enough as it was dindt need to do that. And you made your $ just like I made mine a long term investment, except yours was on a bigger scale. You talk about ethiks, answer me this... the $ you sell somebody else buys to gain an unfair advantage... im bored with this hypocracy honestly. For once just stop lying to yourself. And as for what went on back then when you made that big post on some forum about how I manipulate blah blah blah I explained it right there and then and you agreed with me. I even went as far to explain to you how I made the $ to begin with, but apparently even that wasnt enough you rather call me a cheater... Hi pot, you are black... no wai kettle.
  20. whose insulting who here? I didnt admit to manipulation, actualy, I dont think I ever manipulated. I didnt cause false advertisements or misrepesentation. All I did was buy out a lot of hats :) I posted my initial argument, but to try to prove a point to you 2 is rather futile because this isnt debating over the result of great exchange implementation, its a debate to prove me wrong - instead of posting what you think will happen eh?
  21. So you don't know what the value was before or after, all you know is that you made it increase? Is it even possible to be less credible than that? No, it was simply 3 years ago and ive been playing other mmos in that time frame. It was from 14 to 40 or something like that if I recall correctly, I may be wrong, like I said, its been a while Presenting an image in the hopes of misleading other people is a blatant form of price manipulation. You even confessed earlier about forming a group with your friends to control or manipulate the prices of robin hood hats, which is another obvious form of price manipulation. Ok, now you have a serious reading issue. I dindt say I did that, I said you CAN do that with the great exhcange... lol... reading comprehension ftw This is your way of justifying price manipulation? :-s . Real life and runescape may have a lot in common economically, however the rules defined by society are very different. Besides, cartels are in fact illegal, and groups of people who get together and agree on prices are illegal. actualy no, thats a jab at duke freedom I've said this too many times: Prove it. Get world of warcraft? The fact still remains that they are invalid and baseless speculations and each time I demonstrated why. I will take my freedom to do what I want and what I want right now is to expose these theories for what they are worth. Lets see, whatever you may have read about economics or googled doesnt justify your arguments and in cases personal attacks, just shows that you are resorting to anything to prove a point If it is, why mention it? My god, he might even use valid and coherent arguments or even possibly some explanations :o. That aside, I despise when people use underhanded tactics in a debate like personal attacks or accusations instead of coming forth with better arguments. What you said right here points in that direction, and what you need to be doing is taking duke freedom's arguments point by point and explaining why he is wrong (if you can, that is). Ok... heres a question... why? I posted what I think will happen, you dont agree? then do what you please. You wonna prove me wrong? thats fine, post it once and let it go... anything after that is obession. Yes, I stick to it, I think prices will drop because market will be flooded and people will resort to undercutting each other. You disagree? alright, good for you? Oh and I didnt really bother paying much attentnion to dukes argument because he is a hypocrate... his and mine relationship goes way back, prior to you probably even playing this game, if you want to jump in the middle of that be my guest as well. Ultimately, you and qeltar seem to assume that whatever you may know or have read about economics somehow makes you right or me wrong... Well, ok, keep thinking that... Heres my proof of my knowledge :) http://forum.tip.it/posting.php?mode=editpost&p=5352460 Agree or not, I know enough to be able to make $ and then use that $ to gain skills, thats my play style. I wont be surprised if next you derail this thread even further and start aruging about that. Did I answer everything, did you obsess enough over my thread, if no, please continue :)
  22. You said I could never afford a rare and I said you had no way of knowing that because I never said what I do or don't have. Now you claim that I am a "liar" if I don't... prove you don't know what I have. How exactly am I supposed to do THAT? simple, post a screen shot like i did. For all anyone knows, you could have gotten them by a friend giving them to you, or by hacking other peoples' accounts. Having a bunch of paper hats says nothing about someone's knowledge level. (Being unable to spell the word "sense" says a lot more.) Im not american or english and english language isnt my first. Being able to speak it the way I can is fine enough for me, yet another attempt at a personal attack eh? Nobody gave them to me, and I certainly didnt hack, my good freind duke freedom witnesed me making the $, right buddy? Money is a means to an end..in the case of a game, having fun. When accumulating more and more of it becomes the goal -- to amounts far beyond what could actually be used for playing -- then something is seriously wrong. Real-world accomplishments are far more important than pixillated imaginary paper hats. ~q There you go again, mixing real world and game... What are we talking about here a game or real world, and what are you trying to do here, prove that I am wrong or that you are right?
  23. How is a bank screen shot going to prove that the act of buying blue partyhats tripled their value? And also from what value to what value? In light of recent information, the only thing your bank can speak of is how effectively you were able to manipulate prices. Judging by your story, you didn't even understand that SOMETHING that you did or said had an effect on people which consequently affected prices. Succeeding to manipulate prices in the past does not mean you will succeed in monopolizing a certain good. Monopolies have nothing to do with organized attempts to manipulate the price. Getting a group of people together and all deciding to form a cartel is, as duke freedom stated, against the rules. Through your various contradictions, baseless speculations, crack theories (not to mention you not understanding what a monopoly is), you have effectively proven and clearly demonstrate that vast wealth does not imply a better knowledge of the games economy. I dont remember the exact price before and after. And it wasnt manipulation perse. When you are rich and known amongst merchants you tend to be mimiced. If you use that to you radvantage with some coordination and simply buy and sell, without any false advertising or misrepresentation and make $ how exactly is that cheating? If anything id assume real life trading is cheating.... eh? Oh and as for the term monopoly, english isnt my first language, despite me knowing it fairly well. I chose a wrong term to describe my idea, which I think in theory can easily work, not because I came up with it, but because I have seen it work in other games. What I posted about prices dropping is what I think will happen, you dont have to agree you are free to do what you want. You jumped into my argument with qeltar from the other thread, thats fine too. Like I said before, duke has a personal vendetta against me so he will do anything and say anything just to try to prove me wrong.
  24. It would seem to be rather difficult for you to prove that I am "lying" when you can't even accurately recall what I said. As I said, I have far more relevant credentials than owning silly paper hats in an online game. But as I also said, it's irrelevant. You seem to have a hangup about being oh-so-impressed with your own imaginary wealth, but what really matters is making intelligent arguments, and you've fallen rather short in that respect. The responses you get are the ones you dserve. I can actualy look through the threads and find the post where I quoted you, but why bother. You said something along the lines of dont assume to know about how much I have this or that so I simply said, prove it and you started making excuses not to. That makes you in my eyes a liar, until you prove it. Does having rares give me more cridentials? Yes, in a sence that it shows that i know enough to make the $ in the first place to buy them. You can disagree with my theory of what may happen to your hearts content, I dont really care. Whatever happens I will make best of it. I cant help but notice the condensending way you talk about game $ as opposed to you are somehow better... we are talking about game and game $ here. Lastly, I would like to thank you for your time and making my day at work go by that much more quicker. Feel free to message me in game to continue this discussion or ask me for some $ \
  25. Nope, wrong. What I said about merchants early in the thread was the following: I stand by that (and many people agree with it). You then started responding to that comment and similar ones with insults. Not 10 minutes after I posted, we got this gem: Apparently you weren't done, though. Two hours or so later the bragging started: As I said.. if you brag, expect negative reactions to it. Especially when it's something as silly as bragging over money in a game. It is? That's news to me. I don't consider it a "big accomplishment" in any way. There are people who have billions worth of rares simply because they started playing the game early on, whereas others started later. Is finding out about a game three years before someone else a "big accomplishment"? You've admitted that you make money by taking advantage of people. You think any honest person considers that a "big accomplishment"? How is it any more of an accomplishment than scamming or buying billions using real money? Not much in, my eyes. I know people who have 99 skills that they got completely self-sufficiently. I mean.. didn't buy any raw materials. These are people who got 99 crafting getting their own seaweed and sand and making glass and then blowing it. If anything is an "accomplishment" in an online game, that's certainly it far more than having a bunch of paper hats and an overinflated ego. Yes, you do. And other people have every right to not like it. Free hint: people don't like braggarts. Because I think the greed and obssession over them is one of the worst aspects of this game -- and you could easily be the posterboy for the entire problem. You cant selectively quote me. I posted that I was done and I didnt respond for 10 days as you said yourself, until my attenntion was brought to it. Yes, 2 hours later I responded to one ignorant person to simply prove a point. I earned the right to brag about my $ and I will do it to my hearts content. In my eyes you are a poster boy of jealousy, you fit it perfectly. Yes, I made some investments to have what I have today and yes I merchanted and had my share of good deals where the person walks away from the trade being happy. I still say you are the poster boy of jealousy and all your remarks come from strong feeling of jealousy, deny it to your hearts content, you are lying to yourself. Somebody who gets 99 crafting by getting their own soda ash? ok, ill buy that for a second. Well, to you that may be a big deal, to me thats not humanly possible having to work 10 hours a day (yes, I am posting from work, one of those easy jobs where you get to do nothing and get paid quite a bit :) )
