Actualy, perhaps you should learn to understand the words before telling people to learn their meanings. You dont seem to be complaining about pkers or duelers, yet are happy about merchants getting screwd. Either way, Even if they merchanting impossible period, I already have 10 billion I dont care what happens, im just gonna miss making millions a day just for sake of having.

Oh forgive me, I didnt know jagex shares with you their plans for the game and in particular their thoughts on merchanting. If someone has the patience to stnad there and yell out buying and selling then let them, how does that concern you? You go and cut yews for 30 hours without egtting bored and then sell them on exchange. Your posts irritate me greatly I shall stop reading what you say. Your point of view is hypocritical, narrow minded and in my opinion not very intelligent.

I see so many people cheering and being happy about the new udpate having the possibility of ending merchanting, but what I want to ask is this. If you had the ability to make millions a day through merchanting, would you still be happy? Make a lot of money and buy all the things you wanted, wtihout spending hours picking flax, or cutting trees. Merchanting is not something invented by the devil to trick the good players of runescape. Merchanting is a simple skill, which ANYBODY is capable of. Its a means of obtaining that what you want, an alternate means to pking and dueling. Do you think duelers would be happy if there was no more staking? Would pkers be happy if wilderness was removed? Dueling and pking both take skill and in both cases one person ends up wtih everything while other with nothing. Merchanting requires skill as well, but the end result is both people get what they want, with only difference being that one person doesnt realise he was paid too little or paid too much. But if you can legitimately pull it off, without lying cheating or scamming, but rather through trading, whats wrong with that? To all you people chering about end of merchanting, shame on you. Just because you are too young to understand economics or simply unable to pull it off dont hate on those who can do it. I gurantee that 99/100 of those "merchant hating" posts are people fool of jealousy and envy. /end rant

She was lvl 3 and got attacked and killed in 1 hit and the person who tricked her into following stole them. Oh well thats life. I only play this game to make $ and then use some of that $ for skills. I mercahnt everything from tinderbox to party hat as long as I can make money and the huge part of my success was my partner unleash1 and rest of my merchanting crew. Keep in mind this was right before world of warcraft came out so prices were slightly different.

duke and I parted on bad terms. Unleash1 and I were basicaly merchanting together and we were able to "manipulate" prices to our advantage, which he seeemed to dislike.

ive been back for a month, just with less rares, had 2 santas wine and 4 full sets, sold 1 santa and 1 wine

I am currently at work, I will be home at 5pm eastern at which point I will take screenshot of my entire bank to post and maybe even show the hats in trade to 1 or 2 people.

Why would I lie, people have seen my remaining party hats and I still have a ton of stuff. Anyone who played 3 years ago can vouch for this, including R2 who was banned as well as many others. I dont lie for attenntion and since you have no proof of it being fake you have no right of accusing me.

for the life of me I cant understand the people who do things like "my 47 crafting party" or "my lvl 7 hp party" I can understand when you hit 99 and you want your good freinds there to see the fireworks, but other htan that... mreh whatever.... grats

As person grows up he learns to control his emotions, but you are one of those people I would gladly tell off. Just because you were taken advantage off due to poor knoweldge of prices, it does not give you any right to downtalk mercahnts. Dont hate what you cant do. You are a big hypocrate. Talking about taking advantage of people who dont know prices. What about pkers taking advantage of people? What about duelers who cheat and scam and take advantage of people? If you have no job and can afford to skill 24/7 to make $ that doesnt mean others can, merchnating is an alternative for those who want a lot of money quickly and have the brain to do it.

Well, I already know what I am going to do in preparation for this :) Im done with this thread, there is obviously 3 kinds of people posting in it. 1. clueless people whome merchants took advantage of that are gloating now 2. indifferent people and mercahnts, who seem optimistic 3. vulchurs, aka me, as someone put it. I think this update will hurt my $ making greatly, but what can you do. Have fun discussing the subject further, im done.

Good thing for who? maybe if you dont know prices thats a good thing for you, I know them and I use my knowledge and effort to make $, its not a good thing for me.

I dont consider w2 merchanting, thats just wasting time. Im talking about real merchanting, little effort, lotsa profit :) Atleast, thats how it works for me and im afraid this update will kill it and with it my fun and desire to play.

Here is my #1 concern. I buy my things in banks. I type extremely fast so I dont need some idiotic virus infected auto typer. So when im spamming bank on what all im buying and get things cheap there I make my profit. But if everyone constantly takes all their stuff to the great exchange then the only thing a person can do is constantly scan the exchange in hopes of somebody selling something at a wrong price. Great exchange will essentialy kill merchanting im afraid.

trust me its not fake, its very much real, from 3 years back. I currently have over a billion worth of different supplies for all skills and still have 24 party hats and a santa. Not as many rares, but way more stuff for skills. If you still think its fake you can meet me in game to see 4 phat sets.

Personally, im really worried, I am afraid that with the addition of grand exchange, or "world of warcraft version of auction house" merchanting will slowly die out and a lot of merchants will suffer. Im really worried about this, but I may be wrong.

gave 10 blues to friend to show off, she died and lost them, gave some stuff out, you know how it goes, im glad i kept 4 sets.

It was taken less than a months before I quit (3 years ago when world of warcraft came out). I accidently found it so I wanted to post and share, see what people think. Imagine having 4 party hat sets and a billion worth of supplies for skills. Imaging NOT being muted, but being PERMA BANNED for advertising your clan website. Then after few days of aruging and fighting back and forth and getting the ban removed.... imagine getting banned again, this time for bonus reason, something youve never done before.... That happend to me. First I was banned for advertising my clans website, much like you. The site was 100% clean, with nothing harmful and the coadmin of the site was a player mod, my good friend. It took his appeal, my appeal, and appeals of many of my friends to get that ban lifted. Few days later the second ban came, for "impersinating jagex staff". When I appealed and talked to jagex and explained that I have never done anything like that and have no clue why all this is happening the ban was removed, then put back, and then removed again. Jagex sometimes is rather harsh with their punishment and at times its unjust, but im glad your ban was lifted.

I have to disagree with OP. The margin of profit on these skills is what you make it. If you are a mindless follower, then yes, you will be paying 360 (current price) per yew, 200 per bs, 300-350 per nature. But did you ever think that there are people out there who sell for less, be it because they dont know price, or dont care, or are simply desparate for money? In last week ive bought 1000's of yews and bs and I paid 250 pew yew and 100 per bs. Natures are even easier to get at 200-250 each. It is the players choice if they want to be ripped off or rip off. If you know how to "shop" you can get bs, nat, and yew for 600 gp total and yield a 162 profit. My 85 fletching gave me nothing but profit. Next, herblore: This skill is a gold mine as long as you have a mild form of intelligence. Did you know that you can buy all 2nds at 500 each, or less? On top of that you can get ALL herbs at 1k each - or less. As I went from 76 to 81 herblore I made a few mil profit on top of so much free ex. Once again, the amount of money you gain or lose depends strictly on your ability to purchase the supplies that you require. If you wonna be a mindless follower and pay the prices everyoen else pays and not look for a better bargain then you have no room to complain about the increase in prices. People only charge more when they see that buyers are willing to pay it.

Eventualy if one keeps playing it can happen. All these mmorpg games can not be "beaten". What you can however consider beating the game is setting a goal for yourself and then achieving it. Here is a few examples: getting 99 in a certain skill, or in all of them getting a party hat set winning 1000 stakes? killing 1000 people in wilderness? Getting 1 billion gp? Whatever your goal may be that can be a personal achievement, but getting 200 mil in everyone skill isnt really beating the game, unless that was your goal.

Well said Flammacor. If price manipulation were allowed on forums people would make all sorts of fake buy and sell threads, which would in turn result in total chaos - thsu it is not allowed. Overall however, price manipulation isnt illgeal and can be very effective, it just sucks to be caught on the wrong side of it and end up losing all youve worked so hard for.
