  1. I was expecting atleast the part of the phat discussion to be removed but w/e....guess beggars can't be choosers. Thx for unlocking. That's only if you have the $$ for prayer potions which I think like 95% of us don't. Pretty good slaying method. Just too expensive. x[)
  2. I almost forgot that this thread is about discussing skillcapes. You can continue debating but don't expect an answer.
  3. Aside from dungeonerring (which I still consider it to be a relatively new skill) the rarest skillcape would be runecrafting which approximately 4,321 players have. If you think that many people own partyhats (especially by individual colors) then there's probably something wrong with you. Also, Just because I bought a phat doesn't mean I am emotionally attached to it.... I don't literally go through some random videos complimenting on phats or any of that [cabbage]. I wanted to buy a partyhat so that I can make a safe investment on it and secondly, not everyone can own partyhats. There will always be more players with max total, more players with lvl 99s or even lvl 120 skills but there will always be less players with partyhats. When I first started, I thought that green masks could NEVER reach the price of D chains because they were so cheap....and D chains were very expensive and sought after.....Now that I underestimated the capability of discontinued items, I guess I stand corrected. I've had players from the upper lvl 2400s asking me to borrow my phat, and even people offered to give me ridiculous offers to borrow my phat.... Morningrise, you're more than welcome to criticize my for buying a partyhat which in your opinion, you count it as a complete waste of money. but I would appreciate it if you stop convincing me otherwise.
  4. Nope, it's still fun. The people who claim that "I prefer having fun to making money" just say this because either they never have tried flipping or they failed once, gave up and want everyone else who kept trying and got better at it to give it up. Last time I checked video games weren't about simulating the stock market. If you truly think its fun to flip items and make a profit, then why not get a career on Wall Street instead of playing Runescape. That depends on your definition of "fun". Some people actually do enjoy playing around with the market to make money. Thats why some people who are extremely rich still merchant because they enjoy doing so. Same with monster hunting and anything else you can think of.
  5. I dont play Runescape to make money. I prefer having fun. All the money you've earned from Runescape is useless the moment you quit. The fun stays with you forever. Just a little advice, since I was exactly like you when I was a kid ;) I agree. Because I spent my money buying stuff like Bandos to play SW or other pvp games more efficiently. I insist on using Bandos over Barrows armor because of the str bonus and seeing how I can hit more even though barrows provides better defence.
  6. Sorry, I should have clarified my point a little more: As implied in my first post in this thread, I don't believe that utility is the only reason to own or wear an item, hence why I don't believe that rares (or skill capes) are "useless," so to speak. But, yes, they are technically useless. I hope that makes sense. Phats are rising at 3.5m every 3-4 days on average. Thats not useful? LOL @ you. And to back that up, I did mention on the 3rdage/SS/phat thread that I've gotten severals of Bob shirts and mint cakes (both which were previously bought out that time) just for lending my phat for a couple of hours. Also a big bonus.
  7. very constructive post. wd  You have yet to offer any sort of rebuttal to any argument in this thread, yet you feel compelled to tell others that they're not posting constructively? Question: Do you own any party hats or wearable rares? If you do, why? There are much better alternatives available, so I don't see the point in spending hundreds of millions on an aesthetic item which offers no benefit to you other than making you feel cool. That's arguably much more [developmentally delayed]ed than wearing a skill cape, which, at the very least, is proof that a player has a skill that will actually help him/her somewhere in Runescape or Daemonheim. Disclaimer: The above is laced with sarcasm. I don't want anyone jumping down my throat thinking that I hate rares. I bought my phat because its DISCONTINIUED. I didn't purposely spend my money on them to look "cool". Seriously, where did you get that idea from? And I do have enough money to spend on whatever I can please tyvm.
  8. I hate to contradict, but I had to loggin to a f2p server to help a friend and get like 5-6 people following me and asking me to lend my phat.
  9. very constructive post. wd  Thanks for proving my point. And i think I forgot to mention ardy cape 3.
  10. Even my attack exp is higher than that...is this for real? edit just checked and it apparently is....
  11. The Attack Cape says "hi". ROFL
  12. uhh......what? Idk about you, but I think the drapes make the skillcapes look too bulky and causes most of your equipment to graphically mess up a bit...
  13. 119 range? good gravy. Jad won't even stand a chance....seriously...

Its also worth stating my budget is barly 3 and a half grand. So the best I've gotten was some honda civics in addition to toyota corrollas made around late 90s to early 2000s.
  15. Never heard that one before. :-|
  16. cant they just merge them together? At least it'll make producing bot accounts a lot harder.
  17. Please discuss.
  18. You don't start out with any items anymore. Well that's BS. <_< It's kind of confusing since Jagex bothered to release skill tutors including the demo mode and all that other crap. I hardly see a valid reason of removing "start out" items.
  19. I have a feeling this will happen too. The rare market is building so much confidence that not enough players just don't want to sell their rares too cheap anymore. its kind of sad, really. Since rares were scorned among players for being a waste of money. Now i hardly don't see that kind of attitude. Its all about trying to avoid our "inflation" propaganda.
  20. Didn't really care much for it anyways. The items you start out with as you leave tutorial is well over preparation imo.
  21. I wish I were lower-leveled. A 136 with a white p hat isn't nearly as cool as a level 80/90-something. Back OT: What is the current "cash" value of disks and pumpkins? But then you'd be getting comments like "nice borrowed hat" or "lmfao rwt trader". Seriously. Even I can't wear anything thats not bandos without getting stupid comments from jealous [puncture]s. Pumps are closing towards disks atm....roughly 320-350m for one while disks are 250m. Idk what you're thinking but you'd be very surprised to see how much people have these days. Its not uncommon to see lvl 80s and 90s wearing full bandos or even lower lvl 50s and 60s owning d claws and/or ags.
  22. 4.5m gp/hr. 200 hours for 900m, and thats not counting money from MTK, bstaffs, herb runs, merching/flipping. It isn't hard to make billions anymore. That is why Phats are so hard, mostly impossible, to buy on the GE. They are worth several, to many times over their GE price. Well the problem is how to get billions to make billions. :D
  23. Any rare is a good long term investment  I think santas will reach 150mil by Christmas. I don't think its possible for santas to reach at that price again. Considering their numbers and the demand for them....I don't think so. Don't forget that the partyhat glitch also affected minor rares as well although Jagex claimed that partyhats recovered their rarity more quickly than any other items. They also claim that they became more rare in approximately 1 year after the glitched happened.
  24. i sense that the new tt will serve as the top notch currency to buy partyhats, which will either shatter the reputation of disk/pumpkins, or simply accompany them together.
  25. lucky for me to have kept the primal rapier all along. gf promethium spears. rofl
