I think I've decided to do slayer dart/guthans barrows method, and with the profits do something costly and fast. Like barraging rock lobbies, stringing amulets, or even alching if I'm feeling lazy.

I was fire bolting in W99, but am currently smithing 5-50k addy bars on RS so I won't be around there for a while. I forgot to add that I use SC robes for my magic training. I like the 80-100k xp/hr and half as many casts idea for 99. :lol: Best of luck with the maging. I find that a pair of SC robes lasts me about 2k fire bolts. It is likely different for different magic levels. Using SC robes sounds like A good idea tbh, but using just hats would probably be best. You get more accuracy with Ahrim's robe top/bottom. Also, that's a good 4100 points to 99 from 89, which is what I'm at now. How much exp do you get per 1k casts without SC?

I'm thinking about maging steel dragons for a bit of exp because I'm bored and can't find another method to 99 mage that I can tolerate for more than a few days. The only questions is, what spell should I use? Everyone says fire bolt, but it's getting tiresome. Does fire wave profit? slayer dart? ancients? reasons to use them over others? I'd just like a bit of advice, spell wise, from someone who knows better than me what there doing there. I'd also like to at least break even. Thanks to anyone who helps

Ewwww. They changed the graphics on swords that much? Longswords* The rune longsword is held upwards, wich looks cooler, but that colour doesn't match my outfit :) No way, swords look much better held outwards. btw what the hell are those boots gloves and the hat? boots and gloves are from the santa outfit (2008 christmas event i think) I have no clue about the hat tho. The hat is from Mobilizing Armies.

The rune skimmy is the only thing in that post that was changed today.

Come to think of it, I haven't really done anything worth telling about. Which makes me think I'm wasting my time. :?

If you use a DFS for slayer, you are an idiot. Why am i a idiot? Strength bonus + good defense? I don't use bandos but if you can afford it then it wouldn't hurt. If you do your black dragon's task you could very possibly get a visage drop. Because your loosing a massive accuracy bonus from a rune defender, which is honestly the only thing you should use in the defense spot during slayer. NEVER use a DFS for melee against anything other than a dragon. If you use items such as a cannon you would not need that higher accuracy, such as dagganoths or kalphite(which poison tears you apart Grr >.>). If you do tasks such as skeletal wyverns then you will need that high defense until they are unagressive and you can range them over the entrance. I always use a cannon on tasks. That has NO effect on weather or not rune defender is better than a DFS.

The barrows repair cost is next to nothing. Bandos is better for slayer. They haven't "uncrashed," they will level out/rise for a few days and then crash harder.

Bandos/dfs are crashing hard atm, because it's the end of summer. Sell the dfs, wait out the bandos crash, and buy bandos. Try to get barrows gloves, dragon > regen though.

Because, I want to eventually get all 99 combat stats, but that's honestly not important. Also, I am doing what muggi said atm, but I'm curious about this aviansies thing and Iron/Steel dragons. I've done irons/steels before, they just seem so outdated, and does it break even?

Is there a guide to fire waving aviansies? and do you mean fire bolting irons? (or steels)
