  1. By probably never happen I meant it won't actually be introduced; I'm not saying that people wouldn't do it if it was introduced.
  2. The point was to make them godlike, which can't be done without making them overpowered. I'm glad you at least kind-of got that it was a joke.
  3. When I hear Godsword, I think of a weapon that might truly be used by GODS. If the Godsword was already overpowered then no one would bother comparing it to the Abyssal Whip or any other weapon for that matter. If you need level 90+ in every skill just to start this miniquest, 500k XP isn't as generous as it sounds. All skills have a use, so Magic and Ranged aren't forgotten. I made sensible uses for all skills in this suggestion. This suggestion is HIGH-LEVELED CONTENT that will probably never happen.
  4. [hide=Disclaimer]It's a joke. Lighten up a bit. [/hide] The Godsword should be the most powerful weapon hands-down. To upgrade a Godsword, you must go through a very lengthy (but rewarding!) process of reinforcing, blessing, and purifying it. The Process: 1: Reinforcement You will first need an advancement piece. You get this advancement piece as a drop from spiritual followers of the god you wish to upgrade's sword. The advancement piece is actually made from three semi-rare components (1 out of 500) (one from a mage, one from a ranger, one from a warrior) and the advancement piece requires 75-90 Crafting to put together and must be repaired underneath the enormous volcano in the Wilderness. To enter that volcano you must build wall and ceiling supports that require 75-90 Construction (think back to TokTz-Ket-Dill). To be eligible to receive the components of the advancement piece in the first place, you must already have all of the required levels to use it, a Godsword of that god in your inventory, and a MAXED kill count (4,000) for that god. To add the completed advancement piece you must have 75-90 Smithing and use a Blast Fusion Hammer at a new ancient anvil located at a cave at the top of the Ice Path which requires 75-90 Agility to reach (from Desert Treasure). For this part you need to whittle a special one-use batista (large ground-mounted crossbow) which requires 75-90 Fletching from the trunk of an Abyssal Tree that requires 75-90 Farming to plant (seed dropped by higher-level Slayer Monsters) and 75-90 Woodcutting to chop down (using an Inferno Adze). The batista requires 75-90 Ranged to fire. 2: Blessing The next step will be blessing the [god] Godsword (U). To do so, you will have to travel to a place unlikely to hold such a holy being: the Swamp of Poison Waste! Traveling to the center on foot would be impossible, so you must use 75-90 Magic to create a trapbox with which to catch (using 75-90 Hunter) a Mud Wallasalkie, after you've baited it with blowfish (caught using 75-90 Fishing in the underwater area below Dragontooth Island and cooked underneith the Cooking Guild on a new master range requiring 75-90 Cooking). Once you arrive at the center you walk up a large flight of stairs into the clouds (that only appears if you wear a Ring of Visibility). At the top you meet Avatar of the Gods who absorbs 75-90 of your Prayer points to bless your [god] Godsword (U) and then reminisces about the Third Age. 3: Purification The final step to completing your Super [god] Godsword is purification of your [god] Godsword (B)(U). You must summon your god! To do this, you must create an altar (75-90 Runecraft) from Supercharged Essence (mined with 75-90 Mining from behind a secret passage in the Mage Arena staff room that requires 75-90 Thieving to hack into) and burn incense (dropped by Salarin's older brother, Slayerin, who you must use all three current God Spells to kill in the Blood Altar) using 75-90 Herblore. Once you've burned the incense, your god will teleport you into a special room in front of him and put you through a unique test after draining 75-90 Summoning points. Armadyl: You must answer math questions about physics including flight and trajectory. Bandos: You must run around and not get smashed by him until he gets bored. Saradomin: you must answer questions about lore and morality. Zamorak: You must answer questions about lore and cruelty. Each wrong answer or move will result in your Hitpoints being reduced. If you pass the god's test you will be rewarded with death and respawn at your spawn point wielding your Super [god] Godsword. The Rewards: 1: The Super [god] Godsword Requirements: 75-90 Attack 75-90 Strength 75-90 Defense Speed: 6 or 7 bars Stats: I'm no good at calculations like these so I'll just say double what they are now, as well as mirroring attack stats onto all defensive stats. Looks: Armadyl: The original sword with wind whisping off of it in a very noticeable manner. Bandos: The original sword with yellowish energy pulsating around it in a very noticeable manner. Saradomin: The original sword with electricity clinging to it in a very noticeable manner. Zamorak: The original sword with a shadowy fire-like wave flowing off it in a very noticeable manner. Abilities: Negate all monster abilities (dragonfire, icebreath, piercing sounds, etc.), disperses salt, freezing, large stone hammers, fishing explosives, etc., all attacks hit 10 spaces forward from wielder and 5-11 spaces to the sides in multicombat zones (can be partially blocked by walls), counts as a lightsource and facemask, disassembles normal Godswords. Special Attacks: Armadyl's Final Judgement: One square usage per attack, hits 50% higher and creates wind currents which continue to damage targets with Ranged attacks within the blast radius. Bandos' Overwhelming Strength: Two square usage per attack, hits 35% higher and creates faltlines on which targets can fall into the ground, with chance increased depending on their weight, as well as crippling stats based on hits. Saradomin's Everlasting Justice: One square usage per attack, heals wearer to full health and at least 50% of Prayer and Summoning points per 30 damage dealt, while also creating electrified spots on the ground that can drain health and running energy rapidly. Zamorak's Almighty Vindication: One square usage per attack, clouds the affected's screen with darkness, causing difficulty to tell between friends and foes, causes the affected to change targets randomly, destroys food and potions, severely reduces Prayer, freezes in place for 40 seconds, and covers the ground in spreading flames that poison foes for high recurring damage. All special attacks should have cutscene-worthy animations and cinematic sounds. 2: Experience You receive 500k experience in each skill when you talk to that skill's master or the Wise Old Man (if you have max Quest Points).
  5. The Blast Furnace was messed up for me, too. I never lost any ores but they would somehow get "stuck" in the loop and not come out until I added more ores or did something else to update the Blast Furnace. I basically did the same thing as Ray and sold all my ores and just bought bars.
  6. Whatever they do [as pertaining to gods] I hope they increase the power of the Godswords and spells. Perhaps make the BGS spec dependent on weight or the ZGS's blade overflowing with a dark miasmic shadow and its spec hit with three additional Flames of Zamoraks for FREEZERBURN. The BGS could also have a glittering forcefield of power (purely visual effect like with the ZGS I just mentioned) and the AGS could have little whisps of wind about it. I haven't a lot of idea for the SGS except maybe an electricity field on the blade. The specs (or even normal attacks!) could hit multiple spaces, be stopped by walls, have super awesome cutscene-worth animations... Introduce TACTICS! The ZGS could even set the ground ablaze! Maybe you could add these effects by getting different, nontradable addition pieces from the God Wars Dungeon that can then be smithed onto a completed Godsword and make it nontradable, and require a very high Prayer, Attack, and corresponding level (90 Agility for Saradomin Godsword (E)?). Maybe maxing killcount (4000 in the respected god's lair you are trying to get the piece for) would be a requirement to get these pieces. Of course these are all suggestions rather than anything with plausible evidence. But come on... They're GODswords and Spells. They should be overwhelmingly powerful, or at least much more so than they are now. I'm going to repost this in Suggestions.
  7. I just don't believe that because the bosses use such attacks we will get identical God Spells. I'm all for more god-related updates, even including armor that's mainly just for looks (the Treasure Trail items you mentioned) for Armadyl and Bandos. You can bet that the next Dorgeshuun quests will include something about Bandos, too. For clarification: NPC means Non-Playable Character.
  8. I figured the only reason for a limit was so that they didn't have to keep track of so many different variable amounts of uses per item; I think this is probably also the reason they used to not let you buy more than one tool at Stealing Creation after each game. Both sides of the argument (about the actual topic of this thread, anyway) seem to be in agreement: it's not a lot of effort to go and buy another set; since it's so little effort, why not just allow people to buy more than one set? It doesn't really effect ("unbalance") anything; it just saves people who would prefer to grind XP a little bit of time. If they don't want to waste server space (as is my guess to the limit) they could simply make it to where you must finish using a pair before another will give any bonus.
  9. I can't play as TzTok-Jad, which must mean he's a Non-Playable-Character. Armadyl and Bandos aren't really main gods; their initial debut (regardless of previous quests that barely mention them) was the God Wars Dungeon, and thus they don't have as much themed equipment as the main gods Saradomin, Zamorak, and Guthix. The spells used by those god's minions are respective of what the gods themselves stand for, so they're not coincidence, they're consistency. Kree'Arra is powerful enough to create tornadoes with his wing beats and General Graardor can hit the ground so hard that force flies from around his fists; these are abilities of these NPCs in the form of a spell and Ranged attack, respectively - they represent the bosses themselves and thus cannot/should not be the symbols of the God Spells for those two gods. If you think of the current God Spells, you can easily retrace what they represent in their respective gods: Saradomin Strike -> lightning attack from the sky - Saradomin is supposed to basically be the Christian God in RuneScape. Flames of Zamorak -> searing flames that burn the enemy - Zamorak clearly represents Satan and his attack is like hellish fire. Claws of Guthix -> claws that spring forth from the ground - Guthix is nature, and his claws are like those of a beast.
  10. Ah! I was waiting for a thread like this to be created. :D I'm in the same boat as you, kinda. I absolutely hate Mining but really like Stealing Creation. Strangely enough, I started out with 200 points after the last update and I was wondering what to use them on; I was considering either Mining or Magic (Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters) but if everything only lasts 60k XP I don't know if they're worth it at Rock Lobsters. So far though, SC tools have helped me get both 80 Smithing and Crafting, for which I'm very grateful for! (Tools for Smithing were used before and tools for Crafting were gotten prior to but used afterwards.)
  11. If you pay close attention you can see some fairly distinct differences among the Godswords (that is, what you see when they are held). I can name a few right now... The Zamorak Godsword's blade is much lighter than the others. The Armadyl Godsword is slightly longer/larger than the others (as well as a slight difference in hilt size). Also, if anyone happens to have pictures of the different Spirit Shields, please post them here.
  12. Ever gotten the Mime random event? :D
  13. I accompanied my friend for him to get his final diamond! (After such a long period of procrastination!) Gah, I sure do love to slip and fall on my face... Then we went to go warm up. He wanted me to title these pictures: Lazy Fat [wagon] Ogre Finally Gets Off His Fat [wagon] & Does Desert Treasure!
  14. Very nice and detailed guide; I check back here before every trip (I tend not to do trips consecutively). My question is, though, why isn't Verac's a viable option? Surely hitting through armor/Defense while using crushed and having decent Ranged Defense and Prayer bonuses is a good thing. Nevermind. Full Verac's is horrible at these, for whatever reason. Void protects me better from Ranged attacks, even.
  15. The Knowledge Database classifies them as such... If it helps you can look at the Grand Exchange Database image and imagine it to be a little bit more transparent. They are extremely rare to be found in game. So rare, in fact, that I try to screen shot anyone I see with one.
  16. Purely based on looks (and only as a set, where applicable) what is your favorite: [hide=Barrows Equipment Set]Guthan's Dharok's Verac's Torag's Ahrim's Karil's [/hide] [hide=Godsword]Armadyl Bandos Saradomin Zamorak [/hide] [hide=Spirit Shield]Arcane Divine Elysian Spectral [/hide] [hide=3rd Age Equipment Set]Bandos Armadyl Melee Magic Ranged [/hide]
  17. Does it explode if you throw it?
  18. The slayer master? Duradel (sp?) I think? His replacement, who has apparently been converted from following the Devourer.
  19. Why is Trollheim a hotspot, again?...
  20. More like an attempt to drop the price on them. And yes, the nerf rumors were also a myth, I just tested them. I wasn't attempting price manipulation, simply passing on something I'd heard, which actually sounds reasonably true. Do you have any idea of what the drop rate was for Dragon Claws from Tormented Demons? I may try getting twice as many KBD kills as that number over the holiday break to kind-of test this out...
  21. I've been hearing brief rumors that you can get them from the KBD as well. It kinda makes sense, a Dust Devils to Kalphite Queen situation, but no pic no proof etc. and I don't have time to do a thorough investigation. However! The reason these rumors are so brief may be because the KBD does drop them and the people getting the drops don't want other people to know... Hmm...
  22. Yay! Merry Christmas! I don't know how to make the white background transparent though... :(
  23. No!! They changed it already... They said they'd wait until the new year!!
