Honestly I think players should be forced into witnessing some lore before even taking a side so that the people who actually care about the outcome aren't hampered by their ignorant, oblivious, or apathetic peers. Perhaps they should create a new quest that must be completed before one enters the event next time. All in all it seems like even these 10 and 6 week-long f2p/p2p world events have been lacking on substantial funding. Also, progress/power bars should be hidden. That was a given for all of the events so far and yet I'm sure they'll repeat the same stupidity next time... What JaGEx is failing to do is balance player freedom with permanently shaping the game. While RS is a game built on doing what you want when you want, the underlying strength of the story and characters that make it unique need to be preserved, which JaGEx has certainly failed to do thus far.

Last I heard, wand was 155 and book was around 55. Looks like 180m set at the moment. Brb trading in DryMaces.

Can't put the things to attract adventurers even though it specifically mentions them in the newspost... :| I guess if I had really planned ahead I could have had 4 100% chance scroll voyages saved and ready to claim lol. I kinda hope someone had the foresight to do that.

Was excited for Ports V2. Then I saw there's just one cape, ring, and style of weapons coming out. Really? Da [bleep]? At least Slayer updates seem decent.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but wasn't the elf city described as being designed as a hub for high level players? I believe it was likened to the Grand Exchange, even. Wouldn't this imply that they won't just bastardize the entire quest line to make it more accessible?

Surprised you don't have to pray against 360s anymore. Hell, I could have gotten away with Soul Split on Jad if I'd wanted. :P Took 45 minutes. Not sure if Full Slayer Helmet would have been a better choice. Brought Royal Crossbow, but after seeing the 360s went down just as easily with Magic, I just Ice Barraged everything.

They seem to have a higher drop rate for override pieces and fragments than anything else. I got the remaining 3 I needed today just off of them. I guess if you're worried about dying keep autoretaliate on except when you really need it off...

Was it ever confirmed how many items would count towards the bonus? When I equip the Festive Aura, the message doesn't pop up above my head.

So far it seems that despite the overrides they just released counting, having overrides over actual festive items doesn't mean they won't count. I tested what items worked by going to the bonfire and seeing what it said the bonus XP was after adding each additional item. I'm wearing the crab hat, santa top/legs/boots, and ice amulet as my 5 items. Also, damnit. I just destroyed a lot of summoning gems yesterday. Oh well, guess I didn't need the XP anyway... :|

you can get additional renown from divine crystals You don't get additional renown if you have reached your maximum for the day. Not sure if this has been mentioned but I saw a druid standing near where a special event had just taken place. When I talked to him, he offered a free sample of some potion he'd been concocting, the effect of which restored 4744 (iirc) potential for earning renown, which allowed me to go over the daily limit.

I personally do have more tokens than I need for any particular purpose, but I'm thinking I'll probably be able to protect it anyway, not that I care too much either way. Most everyone else will be using one of the other staves mentioned. Many of them only have the basic 75 Magic to use SOL or PPS, so they'll need to use Fire Wave for maximum damage, correct?

I don't buy spins on a normal basis, but I'm pretty sure the value of all those spins alone exceeds the difference between the legacy rate and the gold package.

I will be using a Chaotic Staff, but I'm the only one. Should I use Wind Surge then? And people using Staff of Light should use Fire Wave? And those with 80 Magic should use the Polypore Strike spell?

Thank you, Quyneax. Unfortunately, the majority of my fellow combatants are quite a bit lower than myself. I have taken care to outline setups for them already though. We have a nice number of each style. :) I've just got to try to figure out action bars for them now. They're not incompetent, if that's how I make them seem from this, I'm just trying to make them as effective as possible.
