Gear Bonus VS Level Bonus? Spell Choice?
I'm trying to decide if someone should mage, range, or melee based on easily available gear despite them having slightly higher levels in one style compared to another. When I said discount AOE abilities as useful, I meant don't consider them, as we don't want to accidentally hit each other :P We are fighting unknown enemies. We don't exactly have the luxury of knowing the style they may be weak to, so knowing what of the three styles given similarly-leveled equipment setups is next best. I forgot to ask, if one were using Polypore Staff, does the spell hit like it has level 80 damage, or is it capped by the level of the staff?

Gear Bonus VS Level Bonus? Spell Choice?
I'm trying to determine the most effective setups for some friends based on their levels and the cost of certain equipment. Basically, when considering the jump from level 70 to level 75 gear, or 75 to 80 gear, how much are actual levels in Attack+Strength/Ranged/Magic worth? Additionally, what are the best spells for one to use between levels 70-80 Magic? Does PPS scale with level? Do Ancient Magick effects activate with abilities? Lastly, if considering someone who could use equal gear for any of the three styles - with a 2H weapon - which style is considered most effective? What specific abilities or effects make it most effective? Discount AOE abilities as useful and consider PvP combat when answering please.

I'd say my point still stands in that case then, at least depending on what it costs to recharge Drygores since you'd probably keep your Malevolent set on death since it degrades to dust. If we had degrading boots and gloves drop on death with level 90 melee weapons that's 5% each, meaning your degrade-to-dust boots/gloves and MH/OH take a 5% hit but that might be cheaper than recharging your level 90 weapons for 10% each, I'm not sure, since I don't use mine enough to have to repair them often. Obviously part of that depends on where Razorbacks settle and if the boot equivalent is similar in price. Lol... If you're at an area that you're absolutely sure you can return to in time to reclaim your gravestone, maybe it'd be wise to just throw a few Chaotics in your inventory to soak up some cost... Oh right equipped. And also below.

Even so, making gloves and boots of any tier degradable is a pretty stupid decision imo. They're not important enough to warrant buying a new pair every time they're lost or used up. I hadn't heard this previously. So the 20% is spread over say MH/OH Drygores, Malevolent Helm/Body/Legs, and Razorbacks evenly, if you were to die, regardless of what pieces go to grave? That's like, what, 3.33% each piece... Hell, wouldn't it be smart to use degrading gloves/boots if they cost so little, just so that the relative cost of your more expensive gear degrading is lower? Yeah, I am pretty sure it doesn't work like that. It's 20% for EACH equipped item, which is ****ing retarded when you make bosses with special attacks that hit for 6k+ damage. Well that's what I had previously assumed, which is why I was rather surprised at Kim's claim.

The Premier Club Returns news article/ premier club discussion
Yeah. The 2000 Runecoins were like the only thing that really made it a good deal last year. They certainly didn't follow up on the newsletters very well, or they were at least made fairly redundant since they'd only be released a bit before a BTS anyway.

The Airut aren't difficult to kill at all and have some decent drops, which should make them an alright task for their target level. Worlds are pretty full at the moment, with at least one person per spawn at all times, but that's to be expected since it's the first day and especially since there's an early bird special. Still, I'm not sure they were worthy of being an entire update on their own, and I'm equally unsure of what the logic was in having them drop new fairly good bones. I don't really like the retro overrides. They really aren't changed from when they were in-game before, except as noted above. I had expected a bit more effort in "modernizing" them - giving them crisper edges and textures without bastardizing the original concept. It looks like they just copy and pasted for the most part. I still might get Infinity for the boots/gloves though :P

You know I wasn't too thrilled by retro looks but... old style Infinity Boots? Also many Dragon items, Barrows... My interest in it all really depends on how much effort JaGEx puts into this project. If they're like the old styles but with more defined shapes and better textures, I'll be ecstatic. This causes me to wonder - if they release overrides that only work for specific equipment pieces, what else could they do? I was just thinking before that a lot of the new, high-level equipment looks so different from each other - even items of the same tier and class - that none of it really matches, and a full set doesn't look like a set at all. Maybe they could have overrides for newer things that help them "conform" in looks - changing Pneumatic Gloves and Steadfast Boots to look like part of the Tetsu set, for instance. Or they could even reverse that and have say, Seasinger transform to the style of Ragefires or Statics. Especially Drygores, as fugly as they are, could be made to look like Malevolent, with skulls and a dark motif.

That's a very good point, actually. I had heard that the average contribution of each Zamorakian was far greater relative to Saradominists during the Battle of Lumbridge, although I'm not aware of any data ever collected. If collecting was uncapped, and such statistics provided, it would give a far better look at whose side had more dedicated followers.

When PvP worlds were originally released I actually really wanted a safe version world-wide so that people could use their best gear but fight anywhere. Looks like this may be as close as we get. At least, I assume it'll be safe. While that could leave room for abuse, I doubt many would participate if it was a drop-all scenario. I seriously doubt they'll have graves for player-on-player deaths either though. How will they differentiate between a player killing another and the victim simply respawning somewhere, or that victim having died as a result of both player and NPC damage in a non-safe area?

Wildstalker Helmet, the highest version (6) I think. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Wildstalker_helmet_(tier_6) EDIT God [of chaos] this took forever... Finishing that has been my only real goal for weeks. Training Divination sucks horribly, and then Brilliant Wisps were very rare for some reason, even with lvl 80 Diviners on team. Sooo enjoying that 2nd runes-free gatestone though :P Pretty sure I have the highest DPS for Magic in Daemonheim you can even get now.

Pretty happy with everything aside from them still portraying Zamorak as evil, despite recent consistent statements to the contrary, and level 90 melee gloves but not boots or gloves for other styles. It'll be so long before we have equivalents if the other gear has been any indication... -.- Oh, and what the hell is with their description of Bandos? Isn't that exactly what they say Zamorak is about?

Future Update Discussions
Yeah, I was about to say, all of those are quite old besides Lucien in the "new" look. As for your second point, I'm not sure we actually know what happens when Mahjarrat die via causes other than sacrifice. I'm quite sure that during one quest or another a Mahjarrat has lamented about the out-of-ritual death of one of their fellows, calling it a "waste". I hadn't drawn the similarities between their fates and gods' previously, though. I have to wonder if there's no afterlife for a Mahjarrat either.

What are the new trade goods going to be? Pretty sure pearls were one of them, which would pretty obviously see use in any jewelry.

Barrows - Rise of the Six
I tried to make this point before but I think perhaps it was overlooked. Don't you think that it's just a tad asinine for this particular case - Seismics - to be so much further "out of reach" than the other T90 weapons, when part of the point of EOC was to reach relative balance between the combat styles? If Seismics were level 95 or 99 it might be understandable, but they're level 90 and therefore on par in strength with Drygores and Ascensions, but not of a similar difficulty to obtain. Essentially, the KK doesn't take that long to score a kill but is quite dangerous and requires a team, while the Ascension dungeon could be considered considerably easier as you can solo the bosses with relatively consistent danger but the drops take much longer to accumulate. The effort of those two endeavors "averages out" to be quite a bit more similar to each other than to Vorago, which practically requires already having very high level gear, a good team, and takes a long time to kill. All I'm saying is that the drop rate at Vorago for Seismics should be such that the relative amount of effort it takes to attain level 90 Magic weapons is similar to that of the other two styles. The prices are irrelevant when considering fairness between styles because prices change but difficulty doesn't balance itself. It would be pretty damn neat if it did, though... Can you imagine Vorago's strength scaling down because his drops are worth the most, thereby incentivizing more people to fight him, relative to the other bosses? Eventually his drops would likely reach a point that they were similar in price with the other T90 weapons, so people would quit fighting him in favor of the alternatives, which could also scale in power. It may sound counter-intuitive to reward someone more for an easier boss, but it would be a far more dynamic system than we have now. It would also discourage farming just one boss and might actually keep prices more stable.

Best Single Combat Style in Dungeoneering?
Vulnerability is rather effective and starting with cash it's easy to just make a handful of Chaos Runes without losing really any time at all! :) I think I have nearly 100 Soul Runes bound by now too - not really any chance of running out even on a large floor. My only remaining question is this: How much does Blood Necklace actually help me if I'm maging? What's the 5.0 crit worth?

When I saw how shitty Drake wings were last week, I predicted they'd be releasing better wings soon. Little did I know it would be the week right after. Still I CALLED IT!! It's like a giant middle finger to the hordes of people who probably bought Drakewing just for the wings! Hahaha All of the new ones look terrible too though, save maybe the skeletal ones. I think I'll stick to my Corruption Aura, thanks.
