  1. I've heard a few people now mention a new gem that was apparently talked about at RuneFest being released this year that's supposed to surpass Onyx jewelry. To me this would make sense since we've gotten a new "best" item for each inventory slot in the last year or two except amulet/ring now. Can anyone confirm? Unfortunately these mentions were on the RSOF with little other info so I would hardly call them trustworthy.
  2. Do a sketchup like the first one with the bottom end in the shape of the current Fire Cape and I'll be happy. :)
  3. With this I'm actually hopeful that they'll fix more long-standing issues. Like the release of Runecrafting.
  4. Sadly not. Jad task will have to be saved for Jad. Ah... I'm guessing deferring the task only allows it to count for TzHaar. Shame. Seeing the cape pictured here makes it a lot more desirable. It looks more like several large, finely carved Onyxes with full HD effects.
  5. So the quest reward ring works in Kiln, yes? What about one of the two Slayer tasks? Doubtful, but maybe the exact # of monsters in the Kiln is the same as in the Caves? That would be interesting.
  6. Hybrid is statless in Kiln itself. I was hopeful after seeing someone with a Comp Cape (maybe it was Max Cape) enter wearing Battlemage... It's strange because he's left and then reentered 3 times (that I've been here anyway) changing his gear everytime but the BMage Top. You'd think someone with that cape would be more observant...
  7. Not a bad quest, really enjoyed the visuals. You know, except for the [bleep]tarded way they've set up the entire TzHaar cavern now. Most of it is even emptier than before, and makes finding everything a trial of patience. On top of that my world map no longer works; It loads an indefinite black screen which I can only get out of by guessing where the x should be. The fight in the Kiln was actually a tad challenging, but only because I didn't take that many supplies to begin with and used a fair bit in the caves leading to it. Unfortunately at the end I spent 20 minutes looking for the little shit that had just been with me when we were ACTUALLY supposed to talk to one of the mystics in the center. So. [bleep]ing. Aggravating. This is why real games have waypoints. At least all of the monsters look awesome now. I'm going to do the old Fight Caves just to see all of them. Damn shame there was no graphical update to either of the old capes. The new super difficult to get cape looks like it was originally intended to be the Obsidian Cape.
  8. To anyone wondering, your Hybrid armor will have stats in the Fight Pits portion of the quest. :) Hopefully the Tip.It quest guide can mention this... I'm rather happy because this is a rare act of fluidity and consistency on JaGEx' part.
  9. A thread assessing and attempting to fix these issues would have been far more useful than one pompously attempting to correct people who are likely already aggravated because their game is running slower than shit sliding down a wall. (Which JaGEx may or may not have been the ones to fling; I thought I read on here someone saying RS's utilization of Direct-X/OpenGL was godawful.) Hey JaGEx. If I log out in Edgeville, Taverly, or Burthorpe, upon logging in I'll be waiting at a black screen for at least 20 seconds. If I attempt to open the world map to search for one of the myriad of pointless structures I have to visit in Burthorpe/Taverly to complete the tasks, I'll be waiting at least 30 seconds upon exiting. However, that's arguably quicker than running through 15 second loading screens to search for it on foot (can't really call it exploring; I enjoy exploring). If I want to use my Polypore Staff in any of these areas, I won't see any hits, only drops, because it freezes until combat is over. If TzHaar is as bad as this tomorrow... Well...
  10. It could be, but I don't think obsidian is realistically anywhere near that workable. You really can't pour molten obsidian into a mould as far as I'm aware lol (although a quick Google search says Minecraft begs to differ  ). I think I'm just going with it's for aesthetic reasons...
  11. Wow, that is awesome. At least with bloom for the Fire Cape I'll be happy until I get the new one. Seems like they're releasing the hints earlier and earlier though lol. And if I may nitpick: What's with the inexplicable chain around that Ket? Not exactly lorebreaking, but I hadn't thought TzHaar worked with metal.
  12. Wish I'd discovered this. I have a hitlist a cubic meter long, wide, and deep. This thread comes to mind: http://forum.tip.it/topic/307633-top-3-npc-youd-kill/
  13. You could just get 82 Crafting and use potions, as that's what I did. I know correlation=/=causation, but why take chances when it costs so much per burn? Plus you'll need 85 to even use the kits or skulls anyway. Funny, I had implemented the new BBCodes into my signature just so people wouldn't have to ask anymore, but then my signature was removed.
  14. From all the droplogs I've seen, I'd say 1/15 chance of getting one, but it takes long to get gold keys. :/ Did it a whole week and only gotten a few gold keys, without a kit. And now I can't do it because otherwise I level 99 firemaking, which would ruin my levelparty. :c Your picture inspired me to go try to complete my set again. I'm so glad I did. :) Pictured in my inv is my loot from 14 keys which I got from only 500 remains after spending 10s of millions getting the top and legs I'm wearing a while back. *I took the hat out of my bank just incase I did happen to get another kit. Did not expect to get another and an extra lol. **I think there might really be something to having 85 Crafting before looting. It took forever to get my very first kit a while back but then I got the second with much less effort when I potted back then. EDIT (Skull was also an "extra", have both lava and steam now ;))
  15. I just got to thinking about it... Wiki says you heal 228LP per dose of Saradomin Brew while wearing Nex armor, so that's 1368LP per inventory slot with (6). (28+30)x1368 79344+1390 80734LP on one person lol. More, I think, if you counted drinking a single dose while at full health while wearing the armor. I can't really think of a practical use for that, but the numbers are fun.
  16. I like the Barrows color change from what I've seen, but I wish there'd still be a slight green tinge, like the originals. The Ahrim's change is good too. Lol @ W42 warning... They should have just put a warning when you teleport or get anywhere near Fally. Honestly the people on W42 are generally nicer, RP or not, which is why I use 42 over 99/70. Fally is the only weird place. And finally the change to allow nontradeable potions in BoBs is great. I suppose that insinuates we'll be able to use familiars in the Kiln?
  17. There's a certain graphical standard they're bringing most everything up to, although I'm reluctant to declare exactly where the "line" behind which everything needs updating is. For example, Dungeoneering at one point had the best graphics, but you can clearly see the disparity in detail between the objects there and freshly released ones. I'm not saying DG is screaming for attention, just that even something as new as that isn't up to par with today's graphics.
  18. Hmm, at least out of those, Goblins are also coming (check the media page on the official website). I figure Elves will come on a case-by-case like humans are at the moment (like in Branches of Darkmeyer, how the main characters were updated). Just from that list, I feel like Monkeys are most in need of attention...
  19. Agreed. I don't know where it was ever decided that lag was as specific a term as OP is trying to "correct" us to, and to me has always meant moving slowly/dragging along whether it be computer related or your buddy following you in your car who's falling behind, for example. I hope JaGEx is knowledgeable enough to know by now what people mean by lag (the symptoms and the causes), and if they aren't, that's a far more important issue than correcting us as to your arbitrary definition.
  20. They definitely look better. Although...does this mean that their chat heads will be updated along with this? They seem way more detailed than any other NPC in the game so far... Chathead of dwarfs has been updated for ages, where have you been No, I meant updated to match that look. Then again I haven't seen a dwarven chathead in quite a while... -.- If you can survive the lag, they have a dwarf of that high of detail in the new Burthorpe/Taverly. He's near a cave and I think he may be the Mining tutor. The guy who sells gravestones also had that look during the Halloween update I think. So... at least they're releasing them "topically" lol. Is there a major race that hasn't been updated yet to this standard other than the Dwarves? Maybe Kalphites, Penance, aboveground demons, but no major "races" anymore right? Other than most human NPCs...
  21. Figured I should probably add who I'm responding to... That makes sense, considering we know with reasonable certainty that the wave before the final boss consists of 2x jad. Which if we follow the pattern, will lead to a single monster with 2x jad's combat level, 1400~ish 17 waves of Jad in a row is excessive. I feel like that turns what should be special gameplay into a grind... You obviously can't tank that many in Gano without pray switching, 16 (6) dose brews or not, and even the best are apt to make a few mistakes between so many combat turns. Double Jads at once, once isn't as bad as it sounds, since you WOULD just tank them with DeflectMissiles and Gano. I see no reason to believe that both Jads would be LINKED to use the same style, but if they were, that would basically turn it into a single Jad with a much higher possibility of KOing you if you mess up switching at all. This is of course ignoring the possibility that you can safespot one of the two Jads while taking care of the other with relative ease. I'm just really hoping that if they did literally mean double Jads that Jad only appears on that wave and maybe the preceding wave and that they fill all the others with new monsters with more interesting combat mechanics than just requiring prayer switching/panic brewing. Or, somewhat like in the Dominion Tower, Jad appears once every 6 or so waves, meaning 6, 12, 18, 24, and then double at 30. Of course, if we're allowed a Pack Yak full of brews ((4)? Won't the (6) be untradable?) most of this at least won't be an issue lol... If you click on the pictures in the BTS you get the names of the monsters, two of which are Thz Tz-Kih and Thz Tok-Xil. If I wanted to speculate on their abilities, I'd say the Thz Tz-Kih probably disables prayer entirely, while the Thz Tok-Xil will have a Glacor-esque floor spike attack. But that's just my guess. Speculation is fun. :) It's so fun in fact that I'll do the rest too: Thz Tz-Kih: Turns off prayer (if it reaches you, obviously). Thz Tz-Kek: Deflects large percentage of melee damage, upon death creates area of harmful tiles. Probably still splits in two with lesser versions of these effects. Thz Tok-Xil: Sometimes fires Glacor-esque floor spike attack. Thz Yt-MejKot: Heals nearby creatures and creates areas that creatures standing in will heal from or be protected in. Blocks player from running through (as it is a large monster). Thz Ket-Zek: Sometimes scoops up larger ball of flame that acts like Corporeal Beast's attack (hits and spreads). Might have powerful melee that will knockback/stun player. Thz TzTok Jad: Apart from switching its own styles, also has and switches prayers, possibly similar to Deflects with damage done for using the wrong style. Continuously summons healers whether you finish them off or not (like Astea with her spiders). Yes, I would find a Kiln filled with the above monsters and effects far more interesting and manageably challenging than one filled with 17 normal Jads.
  22. Every armor stand in the Warrior's Guild except the ones in this room are copied from somewhere else and have been around for a while, so why even mention them? That's why I assumed you meant the ones in this room. The one I'm standing next to at least looks like it's a higher tier version of the steel we got. I suppose I probably should have worn steel to show the comparison but it's whatever...
  23. Actually, I'm right there. Hold on... We were actually going through and checking each of the previous "updated" armor stands to see if any had changed. On the left is what I think he's referring to, while on the right is Vanguard (for some reason...). Also pictured: #Zamorak pride Sadly, those in Zem's hideout in the north hadn't, nor had the ones in the Wise Old Man's house. The summoned bronze/iron/steel armors haven't changed either. There are a few rune armor sets copied directly from the WOM's house further in, but they're old. Just checked the POH spot for good measure. It's in the shape of the same generic semi-updated armor (like in WOM's house) but when I built mith it turned out the same as pre-RSHD.
  24. If you choose to take that route, you should probably investigate Jarl Balgruuf's strange children before you start. I promise you it's related. ;) ________ Any tips on getting beheaded? Do I have to have the perk before the NPCs get access to it? Do they get access to it at a certain level? I never even got beheaded on my main lol...
  25. I was thinking they might only let that guy at the GE decant them. But, err, if you decant the last dose out of one of these flasks, wouldn't that just destroy it anyway? And like already said, where are you going to need to save that little time for that much money? Probably only in the Kiln. There might be some mix of 4-dose and 6-dose potions that turns out to be better than taking all of either of them, though, for normal activities.
