Behind the Scenes - February
The people who sit out the first week waiting for others to figure it out for them will be sorry. There's ALWAYS some exploit that can be used to one's advantage with these kind of updates. So really, the people who might be least qualified have the best chance of finding and taking advantage of one of these as soon as possible. To be honest, I think these little kinks are intentional, to reward people who go there first. They happen over and over again, the best case for this being that Nex didn't start with a "stomp" attack/effect despite that being one of the first ways people exploited the Corporeal Beast. And how many times did beautiful muss Zilyania need to be fixed? Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but promises of easy bosshunting cash can get people to train even terrible skills like Agility. As in the Dominion Tower, the pretty new graphics can only mask the fact that all space in RuneScape is measured in squares. And, as once again in the Tower, large monsters get stuck on squares. And, as there were only two monsters in the entire original Fight Caves that wouldn't get stuck, and these new monsters are supposed to be bigger ( ;) ) and badder than they were, I'll be checking the edges of the Kiln first thing in just to confirm I was right. I suggest whoever isn't sure of their combat abilities (or gear) to do similar, rather than refreshing the Tzhaar Kiln update thread on TIF at 100 clicks per minute.

Bryll Thoksdottir But really, any inclusion of "Bryll" should've set off some flags. Nice cape. :P Unfortunately, she has no dialogue other than initiating the recommendation system for Dungeoneering. Poor little Bryll; she just stands there, weeping intermittently, and we can't even tell her her brothers are still alive! Then again, the boat literally a few steps away takes you straight to Daemonheim, so you'd hope that she already knew. I've no longer any idea what the situation is... I honestly missed this whole section in my initial run through, mainly because my frame rate has been absolutely terrible in the entire area, discouraging me from really exploring... :(

The Most Amazing Fire Cape! + PICTURE OF FIRE CAPE WITH TOKHAAR-KAL
It's really pretty dickish to dismiss an entire post that had some valid points by linking to Wikipedia. Obviously you wouldn't agree; you're the one who did it in the first place. Accusations of logical fallacy get thrown around way too much around here, by people who may or may not be applying them correctly. Frankly, it gets a bit tiresome to constantly see people who obviously know what someone is trying to say dismiss relevant arguments because they're not to form, because it's easier for them to do that than actually respond. All that said, I wasn't really upset with you as much as this general occurence happening far too frequently. I'm in a much better mood now, especially now that the entire Fire Cape subject has been cleared up. I actually have a great deal of respect for you, Muggi. I believe it was your Fight Caves guide I used to get my first Fire Cape many years ago. So, thanks. The second part of my post was me responding to Highlanders in the way at the time I felt you should've, so that actually wasn't directed at you.

Lol. I really dislike "Holier than thou" characters. In Runescape quests our avatar's are treated as ameaturs :P At least Firemaker's Curse was a bit different. We were the resident "expert" adventurer on hand. And usually, those that underestimate us pay. Dat ass still sore Char? Call me. :shades:

Aww shucks JaGEx, my birthday isn't until next month! I can feel the heat of it on my back already... Isn't that Ozan? Yeah, it probably is. Only cape actually featured in the video though, so I figured I'd post it for shtsngiggles anyway. Oh god... that's the only way they could ruin this. JaGEx, please remove Ozan and sarafag from the sig heroes if you're going to make us team up with them. Then this month'll be perfect. OH OR OMFG HAVE THEM KILLED BY THAT THING! RELEASE THE KRAKAN! You can tell I'm excited by all the caps. :)

Has anyone seen Bryll? I saw images on RSWiki's imagestream but never did find her in game. I was wondering what kind of dialogue options we'd have... Oh, RSWiki was finally updated. Says she's the Dungeoneering tutor lol... I was just surprised no one's mentioned her on this thread so far.

You guys are really clutching at straws comparing Daedric and Dragon, let alone Primal. Armadyl and Glass have similarities but it's practically just the wing things on the legs and the helmets and general curvyness of the armors... JaGEx isn't ripping off Skyrim.

This is what I'm interested in. I hope they're more consistent with these than they have been with their weapon updates. I would suspect that since they already have the mercs wearing what they are, they probably have the rest of the sets done but just wanted to stretch it into another update for next month. To be fair, today's update was relatively HUGE. Of course we still don't know if they'll be updating all the special lower-mid level armors so they may decide to stretch it into three... I expect the FAQ will probably tell us as much tomorrow.

Yeah the infinity top looks quote bad imo, other than that rest looks great so far, really hoping for an improvement to Bandos, and less clipping with skill capes. Oh yeah, the change to Armadyl gear is implying that Bandos may get the same treatment when the second update rolls around to change the other gear. I forgot about that. Although it would suck hunting Graardor (or buying the armor) for awhile and it would be annoying if they don't turn out well. Still thinking of what item I could stuff down my troll's orifice for a nice name. I'm one who's hoping the different colors of Infinity will look great after this. Very much interested to see what the water version looks like in particular. Lokie, you could go trade with the cave goblins and get some of their special food. Until now it was entirely pointless as it's rare to receive, there was no way to show it off in game, and it heals little. I am of course assuming that you can feed untradeable FOOD items to it, but you might not be able to... :wall: Yeah, you can't. Guess that means no Baron Sharks or Biscuits either.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man Honestly, linking to wikipedia as your entire response should be its own fallacy... Highlanders used some rather broad generalization. Why don't you call him on that instead of failing to be clever by trying to sandbag the OP? Seriously. So many people on these boards read wiki for a few hours or take a single college rhetoric course and think they're the shit. The fact is that NOT just any level 30-40 pure can get it; it takes plenty of preparation and knowledge. Also, we already know combat levels are hardly indicative of true combat ability; to start with, that's what a pure is. Also, if you breeze through the caves in 45 min flat because you have OVL, Turm, maxed melees, Slayer task you have to consider the added difficulty of getting all those things in the first place. The difficulty is still there, it's simply moved. Fight Caves are only easy if you've done all of the hard work somewhere else.

Lol, I was wondering if anyone would feed the Jad pet to it... I wish they would have programmed something special, like if you tried, the Jad pet would eat your troll instead. Anyone else notice the striking (and possibly lazy  ) similarities between the new armors and Barrows sets? Like it seems like they just painted Dharok's Helm silver... That's not the only copypaste similarity, either. Especially Karil's legs I should note. As grateful as I would like to be for graphical updates, I'd prefer Barrows armor to look unique still. Pretty happy with these though.

As much as I want a graphical update too, I think it might be fair to keep it mostly as it is for nostalgia (probably just updating the lava flow texture) and release a new totally epic cape for the new boss (that would be more appropriate for your suggestion), although we're still not sure if there will even be one.

Controllers.
I don't, it was something someone else mentioned. The trigger raisers (?) are actually meant to make it take that little fraction of effort less lol. But they also provide more surface for the controller to stand on.

Controllers.
I've never straight broken a controller, but I believe my N64 and GCube ones were worn on the sticks. PS3 now, for several years. When Killzone 3 came out I bought a new white controller and those neat analog sticker raisers as well as attachment pieces for the L2 and R2 buttons. Not because I was trying to be superpro or because KZ3 was even worth that, mind you... Lol. But that combination is what I use to this day. The raisers really do help to take advantage of a higher sensitivity, and the L2R2 pieces help avoid the frustration someone mentioned earlier about accidently throwing grenades, but neither are essential. I think it's worth mentioning that the PS3 has two different official controllers that look exactly the same, and the first released one was much lighter, whereas the second one is weightier because it has forcefeedback (Dualshock). I think that's how it went anyway. I started with whatever the first controller model was called and as I said bought the other kind and there's a big difference in feeling between them with the weight and the main body of the white one feeling nicer than the standard I'd had. I also play XB360 at friends' houses sometimes. The controllers are okay but I find the added mass to be a negative point. The sticks and body plastic seem cheaper too, but maybe my friends' controllers are just worn. I think it just matters what you start with lol, before this thread devolves into fanboyism.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
I think you get these when followers die (maybe it was someone you had paid/hired, but wasn't with you at the time?). It was pretty hilarious and surprising to get 300 gold after slaying one of the bar hirees. I started a new obligatory "kill everyone and anyone" character. I was planning on just running around with a battleaxe and heavy armor (and 2x scale) like a Dullahan. However, I can't seem to get decapitated (which is supposed to happen when you have invincibility on and lose all health and are "finished" by an NPC). Headlessness is a pretty big part of the image I was trying to cultivate... :(

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
So I got more loyalty points. Lordee, they're too much. Outfitscape complete. Until I can get Master Corruption and they release the new Fire Cape, anyway. Or maybe a staff that doesn't look terrible, outside of the Tower...-.-

The Most Amazing Fire Cape! + PICTURE OF FIRE CAPE WITH TOKHAAR-KAL
Much easier to visualize, but as cool as that would be, I don't think such a constant, graphically intensive animation like that is realistic. I mean, what would happen if you ran? It would be quite complicated for the drips to trail realistically. They can't really make it a looped object either as it would look very odd in any situation you're not standing still. May be some way to do it with the available particle effects, but I think you'd be more likely to get an animation (still talking about the drips here) kept fully around the cape itself, so kinda what you're describing, but more like a lava lamp? Like looping around possibly...

Resident Evil 6 announced
Looking forward to this. I can never get enough of the story, and RE5 was at least fun and interesting (what more do you ask for in a game?), despite countless waves of oldtards decrying it. RE5 was also one of the few story co-op on the same system games that worked well... I don't really have an opinion between zombies and... plant-infected corpses? There's just not much difference, at least gameplay-wise, or even visually for that matter. There are clearly zombies in the trailer, but then I swear I saw a few plant-heads too. I don't really care what the genre technically is, either. And like Rainy said, the presence of other non-infected should make things interesting. Does the one guy talking about his blood look like Chris from the last RE movie to anyone else? Just coincidental I guess.

Lol, practically just saw your thread on this on RSOF too, so I'll copy what I said there :) But here I can at least show you what I meant. Give me a few! Maybe you can sketch exactly what you meant by that effect too... Oh, just read the rest of the thread. Shitstorm. Welcome to TIF, where people will use any excuse to ignore what you actually said. Anyway, here: These are all the different elements I meant. I know I said Wilderness before but obviously the Tzhaar version lava would be more appropriate. Funny how the current Fire Cape (pictured) doesn't even glow in a dark cave. It really is quite fugly at the moment...
