Hardly just "cosmetic" if that's the case, but I'm leaning towards the above - a Godsword clone. I suppose it hardly matters if it's purely cosmetic or not, since you can get Godswords from the same source anyway lol...

Item peaks and the CS Wall
Of course, that's the exact line of thinking that creates this kind of situation. But everyone else is, screwing you over if you don't, so probably so...

-> Rune Platebody + Small Lamp (any skill) Still no new cosmetic items, on any of my spins. How are my hopes supposed to be summarily crushed if these things never show up??

Item peaks and the CS Wall
Oh no that's not what I meant, rather, it was released to be the "visible" explanation for the price drops, rather than the true one. Which is why I said conspiracies abound, lol.

Item peaks and the CS Wall
I'd always suspected (maybe more like wondered about) the situation these items used to be in, not that this is an "I told you so" because I never said anything lol. Neat to see this more or less confirmed, although the effects at this point aren't necessarily a postiive thing... :-# A bit far-flung, but the SoF coincides too snuggly with this, and I have to wonder if it was intentional, as to seem the reason, in which case it was successful. Just about everything that would've been affected is given out by SoF, minus the Nex armors (and DFH I guess, since that's not even shareable lol), which as you said "dodged the wall". (Although, of course, they might not have been included because they degrade...) RuneScape conspiracies abound!

Soul Wars
111 wins if I remember correctly, so I was a bit above the average. I took a looong break after getting the first 3, just started up again, and the last 3 (placeholders) are taking far longer than they ought to, lol. Soul Elders has remained pretty consistent. I might see you there if I go back tonight :P

Soul Wars
W44, join Soul Elders friend chat. They're advertised 125+ but accept 120+ usually. There will usually be a caller for colors and for in game. Listen to both. They've been doing some screwy things with color calling lately to try to throw off leech clans, so pay attention everytime you're waiting for a game to start and at the end of games. Callers use ====== to designate that they are a caller, although obviously anyone can do that, so try to keep track of the callers. You have to be very quick getting into the pens and sometimes even then won't get into the game so a lot of patience is required. Soul Elders usually win, but it's not 100%. I do believe they're your best chance though. They seem to do better a bit later than now, around 5pm central time and later until the wee hours of the morning when chat population declines. Don't say the color in the chat if someone asks, and try to PM a ranked member if you don't know the color (as in you joined late), although by then it may be too late anyway. If you can't get on the color they called, and instead go to the other, it's called pity. If you're on pity, don't attack purple dots on minimap (chat members) and stay away from center/avatars. Also destroy barricades. Of course, since you're going for Hybrid legs, you probably won't worry about pity much. If you're being attacked by a chat member, tell them in the cc. If they persist doing all the no-nos I listed above, they'll be kicked, as will you if you're found to be traitorous. Obviously don't go against the chat if they've been having a bad streak. They'll get back eventually. Lots of etiquette things I know... I have 399 Zeal all from wins and spent/spend losing or tie Zeals to keep track. I'm currently at 5 Hybrid bottoms going for my last one, so I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about!

Was strolling W2 looking for people with the new things with game filter off. :) Had to log off after some [bleep]tard followed me, first begging for things, then telling everyone I was doing a drop party... Also had negative FPS due to all the dragon dycers or some such shit. It was pretty bad.

Rune Platebody + Medium Lamp (any skill) -> 50gp + 1 Bronze Arrow lolllll Didn't have the chance for any of the new cosmetic items either. Wouldn't mind some blood red dclaws though, or a dark zgs, or zs... or spectral in original color? (cuz they used to be dull blue right? #-o I feel like I owned one when they were) Lol@Bandos Boots as the "big prize" for one of my spins, though.

That's what I said.. If they're going to do it like this, they should add tokens for the cosmetic items, like they did with random events. Even if the tokens were "uncommon" and it took quite a few, it would still be better than having Third-Age rarity on these items. But that might defeat the purpose. I dunno... We'll have to wait a week or two to see if they're really as rare as we think they are.

That's about 6pm for me then. Thanks guys. Reminded me to mine Sandstone too. :) Lol just saw that there's a Lucky Blessed Spirit Shield. That'd be an even bigger middlefinger than getting 3A vambs..

I'm just really curious as to what the actual rates are. I feel like the new cosmetic items shouldn't be as rare as receiving some of the best equipment in the game. What's the point if no one ever sees them? Just seems like a new line of Golden Scythes to me, rarity-wise, especially since we're at 11 pages and not one person here has a first-hand account of receiving any of them. 365 days in a year, so 730 spins yearly. It really is a rather precarious balance, as there's nothing required, but there's also no way to increase your spins or chances. I can definitely see them offering additional spins, like they did a few times with Loyalty Points, though. How many actual hours are there from now until it resets?

I got a Rune Platebody and Medium Lamp (16,695XP at 97 Summoning). I'm interested to see the unlisted/new item rewards but it sounds like anything cool is going to be under the rarest category anyway. Lol, I'd almost hate to get a lucky piece of dragon armor, if they really are black. Not having the rest of the set would drive me crazy!

Then how can you say somebody 'plays PKscape' and not runescape solely because they PK? If you've ever done clan wars, do you play clanwarscape and not runescape? If you level fletching do you play fletchingscape and not runescape? No. I can correct you by using just the words in your post. Somebody plays PKScape because they soley PK. Eh, but I don't feel right leaving it like that. If you only do the things necessary to PK, you are still playing PKScape. Yet you said I play PKscape and not runescape jsut because I PK. Get your story straight. I have my story straight. It's exactly what I just said. I can see your stat sig, I know you're a bit beyond a normal PKScaper. I'm actually not even using that term derogatorily, so please don't take it that way. But if you do not want to see changes to the game because they would change a much smaller part of the game - in this case, PKing - you are liable to be labled as such. If you would sacrifice (in this sense, if you were given the choice) the future growth of RuneScape by denying the things that would be necessary to turn RuneScape into a professional product and attract new players simply because your play is focused on a small part of the game you don't want to see changed, you are being detrimental to the game as a whole.

No, it doesn't. And that's a great deal of my point. When something from RuneScape happens to affect PKScape, PKScape players go up in arms. PKScape exists as a very fragile, secluded game within RuneScape, but is still subject to what happens in RuneScape. But it doesn't have to be that way. If they didn't have to play those silly pre-game distractions like Desert Treasure and Rock Crabs, I'm sure most PKScapers would be happier.

Tip.It Times - 19th February 2012
No, I play runescape because I like runescape. It's not about being 'afraid' of change; it's about not wanting the game changed to an unrecognisable level. You don't play RuneScape. You play PKScape, a minigame within RuneScape. And I don't know if you realize what you're saying. Most people who play PKScape complain about every single change to the outer RuneScape, because those effects trickle down into PKScape. Because of these complaints (from the vocal minority, as truly that's what they are), larger and better changes never happen in actual RuneScape for fear of backlash. I really do wish, for the greater good of us both, and the future growth of RuneScape, that there would've been another RSC-esque release, freezing the Wilderness as it was pre-removal, because that's what most PKers want. No quests, no immersion, no skills, no roleplaying. No Dragon Claws, no Korasi, no Turmoil, no Overloads. Just a browser-based game where you walk around and hit people, use special attacks when their health is low, and eat food when yours is. MMORPG I don't consider Hybriding a part of PKScape, and actually, Hybriding would be much better if anything like my changes were brought forth. There would be far more possibilities and it would take more skill and knowledge to identify and react accordingly. Please, try to use a little empathy. It may not seem like it, but that's what I've been doing all along. Changes are not good for the game you play. I know that. But continuing to use a flawed but working system is not good for my game, either.

Tip.It Times - 19th February 2012
Because as it is, it's simple. You understand it, and are afraid of change. You will reject any points I make, regardless of their legitimacy. Really, the moment you step over that ditch, you're playing a different game. And I wish that game would be severed so that mine could flourish, rather than them both suffering because of each other.

Tip.It Times - 19th February 2012
I don't usually read the times anymore because of articles like Fixing Defence. I read the title and let my expectations rise too high thinking that someone is actually going to say something new. Unfortunately, it seems such articles are always addressed to people unfamiliar with the game, because they just state what most players already know, especially at a place like Tip.It, where most players are veterans. At least the inadequacy of such articles can pave the way for actual constructive discussion though... Sometimes. I think this is another case of people knowing what they want but not stating it clearly. While the combat system may not be broken, it is nowhere close to ideal for many players. You can hit someone and eventually kill them, so combat is working. But is everything working to its full potential? Is it working like the creators' stated intentions? Is it working (within reason) like the players' expectations? Personally, I would say a big fat hell no to all three. Ideally for me: Each point on the combat triangle would have an equal number of styles. Ranged and Magic would have their own attacks that were specifically stabbing, slashing, or crushing. Or if you prefer, penetrating, cutting, or impacting. Armor bonuses would be shown separately as melee, ranged, magic, THEN stab, slash, crush, and an average value of those three. Each point would have weapons that could perform a fourth attack option that would rely on that average value. Magic and Ranged would have more varied speeds, like melee. Storm of Armadyl is just the last in a long line of piecemeal attempts. Attack would be renamed to accuracy, and Strength renamed to melee. Both Magic and Ranged would have styles to train accuracy and accuracy would affect their performance too. Accuracy would be required for Ranged and Magic weapons as well as melee's. Melee armor would require both a melee level and a Defence level to use. Torva and Granite are the only ones that do this, in a manner of speaking, at the moment. Magic, Ranged, and the proposed melee would each give equal combat levels. Magic and Ranged would have unarmed options roughly equivalent to melee's, such as exerting a small magical force, or picking up various pieces of surrounding material, like rocks, and throwing them. Slings might be used automatically for Ranged's. Combat styles would be separate from training styles and Defence styles. One would be able to train Defence while slashing with a Chaotic Rapier and focusing on defending from impact attacks. Combat Magic spells would be tied to certain staves as would bolts/bolt effects to certain crossbows. The ammos required would be tied to the weapons (as charges) rather than carried separately. The same would apply to melee weapons. With the Polypore Staff (and CSB) JaGEx once again shows they understand the concept but instead introduce it inadequately. I can keep going on, but it would take me all night to list all of the things they would have to change for RuneScape combat to be ideal to ME. As it is, it's just a patchwork of updates here and there that might capture the right idea but fail to follow through. I seriously doubt the fabled combat rework they keep talking about is going to truly satisfy players or even themselves, but there are enough people that have simply accepted the way it is or (worse yet, in my opinion) prefer it how it is that they aren't willing to take such measures.

Botting in Runescape
Just strolling through fally I see more goldfarming bots than players, although it could just be the time. I have to wonder why they're not banking at Taverly though. During my short DIY Crafting stint they were also in the Blue Dragon resource dungeon. Is there some way to tell what kind of bot it is by how it's acting? Because the ones I was competing with (I use that term loosely :P ) had horrendous reaction times and sometimes left drops on the ground, but still tried to attack dragons I was already engaged with. I've also noticed many bot (randomly generated) names on people with decidedly non-bot gear, like random mixes of low level robes or clothing. No idea what's going on there...

Do the horns or w/e is added to the marker improve the stats the marker gives?

They could just let us sift through our banks and destroy whole stacks of items, or at least tower-related ones. I don't really care about trading the meat in... they're worth like 50xp each in combat skills I've already maxed.

21-Feb-2012 - Dominion Tower Boss - Sunfreet
Wow wtf is that fail that is extremly stupid game mechanic for a supposed "safe" minigame I mean yeah sure, but what would you expect with a full inventory? Wait, really? Jagex fixed this exact loophole/glitch a few weeks ago. They had fixed it so when your weapon is unequipped it sends an item from your inventory to your bank, freeing a space for your weapon. In my case, it sent my ice gloves (:l). I assume whatever they did with this new update un-did it... Very similar to what happened to me, except I lost an Elite Void robe instead of claws. But that was closer to when the tower was released. Overall I don't really see anything new here, except the boss, which really only has 2 special mechanics. All the handicaps would seem to remove most available tactics too... In barrows unoverloaded with a full inv of scorp meat I got him to about 3/4 using Goliaths. Really don't feel like wasting Ovl/brew flasks at the moment. Also, what's with him not being the top of the tower? The top is still filled with all of the shitty bosses you had to fight to get there in the first place... Just fyi for anyone wondering you can trade items you claimed already... from your inventory. You can't have it take them from the bank. That makes it utterly worthless for me since I have over 2k scorp meat banked. And to rub salt in the wound, it's only a bit over 1k XP for a full inv of scorp meat. And still no Summoning XP (so even more worthless for me personally). I was really hoping to just be able to flush my bank of this junk. Guess the gloves lasting longer is nice, but I never had a problem with that in the first place. I don't know why anyone would slay for 3 hours or more straight. Even if they last longer now, they're still apt to break mid-task, and still don't have a detailed reading of their time left. Overall I'm pretty disappointed. I was hoping that Sunfreet would be the tower-top boss, requiring everything else done, and actually give some sort of reward, as well as be challenging but not just have ridiculous normal hits.
