Wow, randomly decided to check this thread, and read Rebdragon's post. I'll have to say, that advice really will help me, because I get caught staring at people all the time. :D

He doesn't provide them for us? The earth is barren of resources? And you said you are programmed with self-preservation, which makes you find those resources. So why don't you stop complaining about how God doesn't put them right at your feet, and obey your "programming" and find them. They are everywhere. So you are saying that these natural rules that govern living things are not made by a higher being? My question still stands, then. Who programmed us with self-preservation? Couldn't be human. Any ideas? So this intrinsic reason to be good just happened to evolve in humans only, and is not instilled by a higher being?

CC:Tbh, your halo one needs some major blending. The colours of the background doesn't fit with the Halo suit very well, and its kind of boring. Also, the render is very sharp against the background. What is in your current signature for Halo is good blending; the creator used similar colours and smoothed out the edges of the render to make it coherent with the background. Your fantastic four has a great background and the blending is pretty good, as does the Mario one. Great to see you are trying out things with Paint.net and other programs. Keep it up.

Working out in the morning is best for me, because it gets me out of bed, starts off my day early, and gets me physically ready for whatever I am going to do that day. I feel like I have more time to do everything, which is true. And I start the day off with a nice, refreshed feeling. :thumbup:

That sure makes perfect sense. I guess I'll use this for future debates then. God exists because God exists. :roll: Who said you were commanded? He doesn't command you to do good. You could go out right now and stab a person. Yet, you don't (I hope). Wonder where that impetus to not kill someone comes from. The law? The law was revealed to the people by God (10 commandments, look them up). EDIT: Programmed with self-preservation? Who the hell did that? And if you are "programmed with self-preservation", how does your statement of...: ...make sense? Doesn't sound like self-preservation.

That conspiracy is stupid, in my opinion. All the reporters want you to do is hear about it so much that it eventually seems like a fact to you. Funny what the human mind does. You tell it something often enough, and it becomes fact. One of the many things that happens during elections.

Of course, the point of this thread is to impress and convince you personally that there is a God. Every person has morals, which are standards of right behavior. Yet, where do these morals come from? How do we know what right behavior is? Its common sense that killing a person (not in self-defense) is wrong. But where does that common sense come from? It must come from a higher being, a diety, a god. An atheist could argue that this is not possible, since a god doesn't exist. Part of out morals come from our parents. Parents teach us the basics of morality when we are young. Now, if one's parents were atheists, where did their parents get their morals? If you trace it back far enough, you are bound to run into a generation in which your relatives did believe in a god, in this case, the true God (my opinion). Thus, their morals came from that God, and their parents. However, lets say there is a tribe of completely isolated people who have never heard of a god. Where do they get their standards of right and wrong? Its called natural law. Natural law happens to be influenced by God, seeing as he created nature. Thus, they still get their morals from God. So tell me, where do you get your morals? A god maybe?

Woke up, played RuneScape for a while, went to IHOP, grocery shopped, play some more RuneScape, mowed the lawn, went to football practice, ate dinner, did homework. Pretty boring, besides the IHOP part. :D

I've never taken to liking the taste of protein shakes, which is why I don't drink them after workouts, no matter how much pressure I get from coaches. The taste is unbearable to me. Anyone know of some really good ones? And Penny, do you just blend that all together? And if you want to use nonfat milk, do you replace the water with it? I'm not good at this kind of stuff.

Thus, since the ten commandments didn't really get through the people's skulls, there is a whole book of every specific law that he made for the people (Book of Leviticus). Its the same concept as parents raising their kids. If the kids continually make bad decisions, you think the parents will pat them on the head and nicely tell them to choose better next time? Of course not. They have to lay down the authority. :D

You know that reading the bible through won't do you any good. I think only 14 of the books of the bible actually tell a story. The others explain teachings and laws made by God. So, reading 75% of it probably didn't do anything to help clarify your belief in God. I ask you this: What parts of the bible made you laugh?
