  1. They showed that on a BBC program called 'Planet Word' a few weeks ago I think, it was also suggested that swearing can be good as it allows us to express anger or frustration vocally rather than physically/violently.
  2. That would make sense (though as I say I don't know how they got into my email account), annoyingly I can't log-in to the runescape site at the moment, not a password issue as I can log in in-game, but the pages aren't loading with the new site layout.
  3. Thanks for the replies, The text in the email and the page it goes to do seem to be the same, going to (what seems to be at least) a legitimate runescape page about account recovery. That's what I'm thinking, and it's not asking for a password or anything. I took a look at that earlier, from their descriptions it doesn't seem to be fake. I have had other e-mails (from different addresses) that were clearly fake, spelling errors, links going to different pages etc. but this seems real. After looking a bit on Google, a few people do seem to have had this e-mail (exact wording/links) when they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to recover an account. So I guess it could well be real and someone (somehow) has tried to recover my account after getting into my emails. I've changed all my passwords/recivery questions now anyway.
  4. There is a link, starting with https://[LikelyScam]..., and it doesn't ask for my username/password.
  5. Hello, I have received an email from '[email protected]' saying that a password recovery request was denied for my account. I have not asked for a password recovery, and I have gotten emails similar to this and I'm aware they are usually scams, however I would like to know if this one is real. I ask this because this morning my passwords for both my email account and my facebook account had seemingly been changed (though nothing deleted etc on them), and when I recovered them this email was in my inbox. I have run a virus scan etc and nothing has come up, I don't recall downloading anything suspicious recently or anything. Let me know if any more information is needed, thanks.
  6. League cup draw:  Arsenal vs Man City Chelsea vs Liverpool Man Utd vs Crystal Palace Cardiff vs Blackburn In semi-related news, I love Luis Suarez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZKJNScfMbw
  7. Along with accent, the vocabulary that people use as part of their dialects is interesting, but can certainly get confusing. For instance, as part of a module in uni, we are looking at varieties of English, and in one lecture focused on the 'Black Country' (A region of England) dialect. We looked at examples of typical phrases, I could understand what they meant though wouldn't use them myself, but I was sitting next to a girl from France, so a non-native speaker of English, and she just couldn't understand what some of them were at all, or why they were changed from the 'normal'. Some basic examples: 'We day buy it' - We didn't buy it. 'You bay going out in this, bist?' - You aren't going out in this, are you? 'I puck the cheapest' - I picked the cheapest. 'He can't drive, but her can' - He can't drive, but she can. As you can see it's just one or two words that are different, but I can see how it could get confusing, and there will be all sorts of varities and dialect-specific vocabulary throughout the world. I should point out that such vocabulary seems to be far less popular in modern times, and is mainly the older generations who would use such terms (In my example anyway). So yeah I just find the little differences in language based on dialects interesting :-P
  8. I agree on La Liga, it is amazing at times watching Barcelona and Real Madrid play, but you pretty much know the outcome of most of their games before they've begun. I don't follow Seria A or Ligue 1 very closely, but usually enjoy the games I see of them. I like the Bundesliga, and I watched a fair few Borussia Dortmund games last season.
  9. Serious injury in the Accrington Stanley vs Tranmere Rovers game tonight, the game had to be called off. A young player (Tom Bender) was treated for 25 minutes, they think he may have broken his neck. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15176078.stm
  10. Happy with the win, and especially happy that Carroll scored. Didn't like that coins/bottles were thrown at Suarez and Bellamy. Fully agree on the red card though, terrible decision.
  11. Same, many teams I'd love to see. Looking forward to Liverpool vs Everton today, can never predict how derbies will turn out
  12. Oh god: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppSlqrbVn30 He played fairly well today aswell.
  13. Another loss. Tottenham 4-0 Liverpool, biggest league loss for something like 8 years. Sickening, and it was an absolutely abysmal display. Forget refereeing decisions, when we can't even pass the ball forwards and look like conceding every time the opposition attack then there are bigger problems than referees. Pretty much no positives, Lucas and Enrique at least tried hard though made several mistakes, and I don't think Coates can really be blamed. Many weren't up to scratch today, and though it pains me to say it, I include Dalglish in that. As much as I think he is fantastic, and usually great tactics-wise, today we were set out 100% wrong. However, this wasn't helped by poor performances all over the pitch, particularly Henderson, Adam, Skrtel and Carragher (though more could be mentioned) who are so much better than they've shown today, nowhere near their best and did nothing for the team. Many on another forum I use have placed the blame on Carroll, but at least he was working hard under almost impossible conditions, again very little worked for him but he certainly wasn't the main culprit. We need a big reaction to this, the season is certainly not going to be over after 2 losses, it will be how we respond that determines how we do. A large win against Wolves would do wonders for confidence, but it requires the players to not feel sorry for themselves, acknowledge they were poor, but move on and come out of it stronger. This absolutely should be a one-off (against Stoke I felt we were unlucky in many ways), we will surely improve. Massive credit to the away Liverpool fans though, singing their hearts out even at 4-0 down. Probably just ranting a bit at this point, but I'm just annoyed atm. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In other, less depressing news, I played football for the first time in a while on Friday, was very fun  It was only 4 vs 4 this time as a few couldn't make it but more should come in the future. My side lost narrowly (a low-scoring 15-13  ) but I got a fair few goals/assists. In terms of boots it was on astro-turf so not quite the same but I wear ones similar to these: [spoiler=Boots]
  14. Liverpool lose 1-0 to Stoke, 100% undeserved, some ridiculous decisions.
  15. This helped me: (Credit goes to Draz ofc :P)
  16. Completely forgot to join :wall: Ah well i'm in now

    England Riots

I'm near Birmingham, awful hearing about it all, absoulutely pathetic people who do this.
  18. All accross Birmingham aswell, absolutely pathetic.
  19. Uruguay have won the Copa America. Luis Suarez - what a player. I don't care if i'm biased
  20. Football (as in Soccer) is my favourite to watch, and I also enjoy playing it, along with a few others, but only play football these days.

    OCD

I used to have the same thing, got very annoying at times. Still happens sometimes though not very often, was mainly when I was younger.
  22. Well you can't read too much into pre-season friendlies, though MLS certainly seems to have improved, I liked the goal from the San Jose Gk too
  23. I saw this a while back but forgot about it, found it interesting: (List of highest chance-creators in the league last season) Liverpool certainly seem to be targeting players who have shown themselves to create a lot of chances, to supplement Suarez/Carroll etc. as all three transfers so far appear in this list. (Sorry if i'm boring anyone with Liverpool talk  )
  24. Yeah it is a high price, but I guess it's been a problem area in the squad for years, so he'll be a good addition as you say, certainly adds a different style on the wings.
