  1. Exactly how I feel. Reminds me of when I idolised Michael Owen when I was younger, was devestating when he left. Also yeah, the timing seems classless from Torres, and the choice of team odd. Really makes you question his previous quotes of loving Liverpool and not wanting to play for another English team etc. (Don't get me wrong, I can understand that he might want to leave, due to lack of trophies, his age etc., but he's gone about it in an awful way.)
  2. So then, Luis Suarez set to have a medical with Liverpool, if he can settle in the premier league it'll be a fantastic transfer. However, Chelsea making bids for Torres, who apparently wants Liverpool to consider the offers. Haven't seen any quotes so I'm remaining skeptical, but there are a lot of rumours. Personally I would understand to an extent if Torres wanted to leave for a club such as Barcelona, Inter Milan etc., but going to Chelsea would be very disappointing.
  3. Well done
  4. I was at the Wolves vs Liverpool game today, very nice 3-0 win. 2 from Torres which was nice, and a great goal from Meireles.
  5. Nice
  6. Haha nice, I saw Anderlecht vs Hadjuk Split recently where there was a lot of snow on the pitch, but it wasn't that bad.
  7. Some interesting draws, in particular Arsenal vs Barcelona. Champions League last 16 draw: Roma v Shakhtar Donetsk AC Milan v Tottenham Valencia v Schalke Inter Milan v Bayern Munich Lyon v Real Madrid Arsenal v Barcelona Marseille v Manchester United Copenhagen v Chelsea And for the Europa league Liverpool have drawn Sparta Prague which I'm happy with, Man city have Aris.
  8. Well Liverpool were pathetic, well done to Newcastle and nice goal by Carroll.
  9. Sacking Hughton is ridiculous, he's done a great job at Newcastle. They've had a couple of bad results, but also a few great ones (Arsenal away win, 5-1 over Sunderland etc.), and are currently 11th I think. I don't know how much more he could've been expected to do with a newly-promoted side.
  10. Just about to post about that  Russia and Qatar for the next two world cups

Today my friend asked if I wanted to play in a Korfball tournament this saturday. I had never heard of the sport at all, but was told that it didn't matter that I hadn't played before, and to just go along anyway. Has anyone played Korfball before? I'm reading up on the basic rules atm but was wondering if anyone had any Korfball-related advice/experiences  Is it easy to pick up for beginners? etc. All I really know about it so far is that it seems a bit like basketball/netball and is apparently popular in The Netherlands.

  13. Liverpool 3-0 West Ham. Would have liked us to have pushed on for more in the 2nd half but can't complain too much, I thought Maxi, Meireles and Johnson were our best players. Poulsen wasn't too bad and even had a very good shot, but in truth West Ham were very poor. This puts us 3 points off 4th now I think. Also, Almeria 0-8 Barcelona
  14. Nice pictures, a few of my friends went but unfortunately I couldn't go.
  15. Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea. Never saw this one coming, delighted

I've been told that as part of my uni course, I will be reading 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy. I know very little about the book having never read it before, though it seems a very interesting read. Has anyone read this, and what did you think of it?
  17. Yeah I woke up to find this  http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/board-agree-proposed-sale
  18. Well Liverpool lost to Northampton, and now Blackpool, not exactly going well...

I've just started reading 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand. I've seen very mixed responses to it (including on this forum) and it should certainly be interesting to read it and see what I think
  20. I was at the Liverpool game today. Poor performance all round, but at least we won  Also, I'm hoping new signing Raul Meireles can have a good impact.
  21. Finally had this come through today from UCAS: 'Congratulations! Your place at University of Wolverhampton (W75) to study English (Q300) has been confirmed during Clearing.' I've been waiting since last Thursday
  22. Talking of 6-0 wins... Newcastle 6-0 Aston Villa
  23. I'm going there for the open day tomorrow aswell
  24. Wow that's both disgusting and amazing  But yes 'The Sun' is the most horrifically awful trash that gets called news over here, though I'm biased as a Liverpool fan.
