pick your poison!
We were kidding, don't worry. I don't know, it seems like a game of sorts to me.

Kepler Telescope finds Earthlike planet
The closest thing we have to a purpose is exapansion, and to do that, we are required to find Earthlike planets and/or other life. Before the Kepler telescope, we couldn't see rocky planets, just gas giants, wheras now we can.

Ah...I was afraid of that. Then again, are you trying to imply that we aren't?

pick your poison!
And what would be the point in that? It'd probably just get moved to here or forum games again.

Kepler Telescope finds Earthlike planet
Why would it be better if we found no life? Also, you don't seem to have understood. Kepler-4b is basically a ball of lava. But the fact is that it was orbiting the first star we looked at, which means that we're probably going to find more rocky planets soon.

Kepler Telescope finds Earthlike planet
Arguably NASA's most important mission ever, the Kepler space telescope has found a hot "Super Earth", named Kepler-4b along with four gas giant planets orbiting a star which is around 1600 lightyears away. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that this supposedly rocky planet would be able to support life, due to being blasted with radiation and likely having a molten rock covered surface, but this was the first set of planets discovered by the Kepler telescope, and it has already found a rocky planet. This leads some scientists to believe that almost every star may have a habitable planet, which knocks the probability of us being alone in this universe lower than it's ever been. I, for one, am excited about the prospect of discovering more earthlike planets, possibly with other life on them, and with some (Albeit very, very early) plans for interstellar craft already out there, it seems to me like a pretty exciting time to be alive. The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Australia continues with it's research. Early prototype bionics are being given to dawn guard captains. Several night wolf squads are being moved into palestine under cover, for no other reason than to gather intel on what the hell is happening. I just want to get some information on the situation. I'd be happy to share reports with anybody else if they want. Work begins on military exoskeletons (GASP!)

Dungeoneering
(Last roll. I have some stuff to do irl.) Hakon- You miss. Grim- You are Northeast of new Exile, on the outskirts of the great marsh. Jen- There is a large burst of fire from below the shade. +.2 ice. Kemios- They wont be in range for a while yet. They move pretty slowly. (Continue tommorow) Igos- Neat idea, but doesn't work that way.
-
Dungeoneering
Jen- Your healing magic appears to have no effect on the shad whatsoever. You hit the shade with some fire. +.1 ice. Igos- You hit the shade with some freezing energy. +.1 pyro Grim- The other path seems to have vanished. Umbra- You block the shades next strike, being pushed a few feet back, and then it blocks your strike, not budging an inch. +.2 swordsmanship. Kemios- There is nothing else to shoot. You note the hoard approaching from the forest.
-
Dungeoneering
Umbra- It swings one of it's swords at you. You can barely stop it, even with assistance from Caladbolg's arc attack. Grim- You exit the forest in an unknown location. You suddenly feel as if you have missed an artifact of great power. Kemios. +.1 lightning. (Oh yeah, so I did. Sorry about that.) Jen- You fail to create a firestorm or any lava plumes. Hakon- You hit the shade.
-
Dungeoneering
Grim- There are now two paths. One leads towards what looks like an exit, the other leads towards a misty area of the forest. Umbra- After it kills it's target, it picks at random. You ready Caladbolg to parry, and the shade strikes. It is still far more powerful than you, and even though you are unharmed, you are sent flying. Kemios- The villagers are sent into a panic. A few of them gather what weapons they can and stand at the gates, waiting for the group of undead. (You seem to have overestimated. Zombies are basically mooks, easy as hell to kill.) Jen- You miss. Completely. Hakon- You cannot establish a link to anywhere outside the Dusk, and trying to gives you a headache. Archarnis- The gates are locked and the group of people is armed. (What is the Sennheiser Order?)

Dungeoneering
Kemios- You climb a nearby tree and watch as the group goes past. To your surprise, it is a large group of roving undead. They appear to be shambling towards Ikana! Igos- You hit the shade in the back of the head. Grim- You arrive at another fork in the path. Umbra- You create an orb of light which blows up, knocking you to the ground. Hakon- You fail to create any lightning. Jen- You try to charge the icicle, but the shade notices it, and proceeds to smash it by doing a backflip and kicking it. The shade now targets Umbra.

Dungeoneering
Umbra- You orb explodes just in front of you, luckily not damaging anything. Grim- You can't. You arrive at a crossroad (You do remember that all the crossroads have 3 paths, right?) Jen- You fail to heal Hakon. You start to create a large spire of ice. Hakon- You cannot act. The shade removes it's blade, and the sudden bleeding and organ damage kills Hakon. You respawn nearby. Choose .5 xp to lose.

Dungeoneering
Grim- You arrive back at the start. Kemios- While wandering around the forest, you hear a large group of people approaching. Jen- You heal Hakon, but his arm is still severed. You succeed in making the floor slippery, accidentily making sure that the battle is as hard as possible for your team mates. (Umbra is right. It hovers about two feet off of the ground.) +.1 healing Umbra- The shade did not drop it's sword. you create an unstable orb of light. +.1 dark. Hakon- It doesn't have eyes. You attempt to kick it, but it grabs your foot and throws you several metres. You are now unconcious and bleeding profusely. Igos- you succeed in healing Hakon. +.2 necro. The shade stabs downwards with it's blade, impaling Hakon directly through the torso. Somehow, he is still alive, but cannot speak, act or move, and is pinned down.
-
Dungeoneering
Kemios- You see the ivory tower in a mysterious black glow. Umbra- It is. Jen- You fail to heal Hakon, and succeed in hitting the shade's wings, which doesn't slow it in the slightest (Didn't you read what I said?) Hakon- (That would be multi-charactering, so nope.) You heal yourself, albeit very poorly. You load your crossbow. The shade cuts your arm off. You are now heavily bleeding, and can't really fire a crossbow or use a weapon. Grim- You arrive back at the start.
-
Dungeoneering
Umbra- Blood magic needs to be learnt before you can use it at will. Grim- You arrive back at the start. Kemios- You finish your map. +.1 cartography. Jen- Yeah, sorry. +.2 xp. You jump back up. Hakon- Because the posts are not in chronological order, I arbitarily decide what happens first and last. Hakon fails to heal. Igos- The blast hits the shade, and appears to deal damage, but doesn't slow it. (For the record, stopping this thing by injuring limbs or restricting movement is really difficult, and will probably end up worse for you in the long run due to game mechanics which I can't say anything more about) The shade breaks free.
-
Dungeoneering
Umbra- Death is opposite to healing. Nothing happens. Jen- You create a prism of fire around the shade. It wont keep it contained for long, and you feel drained due to the power of the spell (Got a 19, so yeah) Grim- You arrive back at the start. Kemios- You look out over the forest. You drop into the window below and start drawing out a map. +.2 cartography. Hakon- It blocks the blow with one of it's swords, before smashing you into the air. It jumps up after you and flings you into the ground. You are gravely injured. Igos- Kay.
-
Dungeoneering
Grim- You arrive at the start. Umbra- You fail to do anything. (You'd need to specify which type of magic, as only certain types would be able to accomplish something like that) Kemios- You land on your ramparts, and begin to fall, but instead fall forwards onto the roof. +.1 flight. Hakon- Well, it is a demi-god... You fail to heal, and reach the others. The shade, in pursuit, strikes at you. The blow doesn't quite connect though. Jen- You fail to heal Hakon. You create some ice shackles but the shade instantly breaks them. +.1 ice.
-
Dungeoneering
Umbra- You notice no flaw. There is no way to accustom yourself to it's speed as the human body is simply unable to move as fast as it does. Grim- You arrive at another fork. Hakon- As you run towards the shade, it jumps to the side, swings it's sword, and cuts you across the chest. Jen- You heal the wound in your shoulder. +.2 healing.
-
Dungeoneering
Umbra- It'll target whatever hits it first. Hakon- You have only one crossbow. You still fire a few bolts at it, and it begins charging at you.

Guess Dungeoneering is go.

Well, that would depend entirely on if 3 people want to start. In all honesty I was waiting for somebody to post.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I support Grim in this for no other reason than me wanting to watch a war. Go Grim!
