  1. Well this does put a rather large speed bump in the way of things. I'm surprised you haven't invested in one of those internet USB things, sounds like it'd be really useful for you.
  2. -Friday and Saturday, 12:00 - 3:00 -10:00 Till whenever, every day of the week -Divide between hack n' slash and storytime Those are the three which immediately come to mind.
  3. Indeed Archi, which is why I much prefer the Friday/Saturday approach. And I'd rather not split all the loot equally, either. Some characters in the group are evil, and I'm Chaotic Neutral, so we'll be wanting to keep some loot for ourselves, or be greedy with stuff we find first. How about you create a poll to ask the players which option they prefer? They are, after all, the most important asset in the continuation of the game. Well, that's not entirely true. I think the GM and the players are of equal importance, but without the other, neither is having much fun.
  4. Seems a decently viable idea, actually, and one which I like, though it sounds as if it would be confusing as hell for those involved. Plus, I'm sure Archi doesn't want to replay old content, and the players who have already completed it probably wouldn't want to help the others, so everything would need to be easymode. That, and the fact that the Friday and Saturday sessions aren't the problem, and unless there is some large issue in real life, they could, and by all means SHOULD put some time aside to play, meaning everyone already knows the story and we still get 2 sessions a week. I don't think the positives outweigh the negatives, and it sounds a little redundant. Good suggestion though.
  5. Hmmm... That still leaves the problem of characters not being present for storylines which they need to be involved in. The obvious solution to this is making Monday and Tuesday "Hack n' Slash" days, with little to no story to miss, Although that still leaves the problem of XP and loot splits. Perhaps we should ask all the players to vote between the three options? I shan't vote, obviously, but that will let us see which option the most important asset to the game prefers. I like the grindstone subquest idea, by the way.
  6. Puts too much pressure on Archi. Preparing these campaigns is no easy task I just think that rewards shouldn't be given to whoever is online at the time, and split eqaully between the group. now, I don't mean we divide every single GP equally (unless everyone else wants to, of course), I just mean items like equipment, alchemical stuff, magic objects and trinkets, things like that. Orrrrrr... Only running on Fridays and Saturdays, leaving you free to do that dungeoneering thing on other days if you so wish. Personally, I like the weekends, but you seem to like running more often, so It's your call. Although I like to think of it this way; Too much of a good thing makes it boring. I was always looking forward to D&D games at the weekend, after the week of work is over, which was rather nice. I ended up being pretty psyched about it on a Friday, and then we'd play from 12:00 till 3:00, which fits everyone in (Assuming Mather can hide his playing on the computer that late, although it is a weekend so he might not have to), and still allows decent session time. Again, if you want to run it every day of the week (Or most days) it's fine with me, but it does mean that almost everyone misses a part of the story and that it runs a risk of becoming slightly monotonous (I don't doubt your ability to create enticing campaigns, but playing said enticing campaigns every single night may lead to boredom). So, options we have currently are: [hide=Running it every day from 10:00-Whenever there are no longer enough people to play] People wander in whenever and start playing until they can't any longer. Positives: Lots of sessions Easy to set up Doesn't matter when people show up, much. Drawbacks: Less organised A lot of people miss out on story, loot and XP Could become boring Cannot create a scenario where a certain player needs to be there, or everything can sieze up without warning [/hide] [hide=Running on weekends only] People know they are supposed to be playing, so should make some arrangements to be able to play, and if they cannot, should contact the GM and inform them beforehand. Positives: Everyone is there to recieve loot, story and XP. Can plan campaigns which are better suited for RP (Since you can create them around certain characters) Something to look forward too No timezone issues More campaign planning time Drawbacks: Far Fewer sessions Fewer sessions A lot less sessions per week [/hide] Sorry if I'm a little biased, I just think the weekend system fits everybody fairly well, and doesn't contain the same issues as a drop in - drop out system. Just offering my advice, as per usual, no need to take it to heart without asking yourself and everyone else what they think beforehand.
  7. I don't really like 4e. It takes the focus off of roleplaying a bit, and turns it into "D&D Lite: The Boardgame". Archi, what would you say if I asked that the sessions be more "Planned start and finish time"? I realise that it is slightly hypocritical of me to say so, but running as a player, it's slightly offputting that some people miss half the story because they could not get to the computer. When I was GMing, I didn't really understand how that felt, since I guess I already knew the story. Of course, there are still timezone issues to work out, but I'm sure it can be done with a little tavern co-operation. Again, just a suggestion.
  8. That was a really fun session. Then my rolls turned to crap. Still fun though.
  9. Righto. Really wish I'd taken a few vials of blood thickener now. Means you die more slowly, only losing one point per two rounds. Although it does kill your dex for 12 hours.
  10. Sounds like you guys did really well after I left  My exams for the next two days are at 1:00 PM, so I'm free to stay up will like 1:30 AM today, if there is a session on.
  11. 63, not 68. You need an older version.
  12. Well, I'm here for the next few hours, so why not.
  13. Good point, actually.
  14. Hey Archi, if you want to hijack this thread for your own purposes, go right ahead. But add another post before the first one.
  15. Yet somehow it creates the same effect as a fever? muddling with genetics will get you killed, Mather, unless you have a multi-million pound labs worth of equipment at your displosal, and a large research database.
  16. You are still injecting yourself with some kind of damaging toxin or virus...
  17. Monster Hunter Tri is an option, since you have a Wii. That game alone (And super mario galaxy, but not everyone likes platforming) is reason to keep it.
  18. Well you didn't say that, and I clearly cannot read minds, so from your post I assumed you blew it off to play Xbox.
  19. Well that's your own fault. D&D is a game which actually needs the players to be there, since the DM will usually give each one some important part. If you don't show up because "I dun want to", then you are essentially screwing over your fellow players. However, I'll let it slide this time, and explain what is going on. Basically, I have exams, so Archi is taking over and doing his own campaign since I no longer have time to prepare them. I'm sure you've seen the PM between everyone, where we're all making a new character at level 4, so if you want to keep playing, you should go create a new character as instructed on the PM. Basically, my campaign is on hold for the time being and Archi is running for the next 3 or so months or until he doesn't want to anymore.
  20. You can't get past the log, it reaches up to the ceiling. Call me a railroader, but I know you guys, and I need to make sure you stick to what I have written
  21. Where? Down into the pit, which the log is going to fall into?
  22. Ehhh, safe. You alerted a large ethereal warrior to your presence, so you're stuck between getting crushed, or getting axed.
  23. Okay, somehow I think we're wrapping up for the night then. Sorry about that... Next session wont be for a while, either. Archi will probably have started his game up, so we'll have to wait till we finish his campaign. I have exams and such for the next few weeks, so Archi is taking over the D&D. So yeah. It's all a bit of a discontinuous mess. Storybreaker for the loss.
  24. Indeed it is, my stupid goddamned internet decided "No, screw off" for like 5 minutes. Sorry about that.
