Because you're guarding the entire Atlantic ocean? Must be a huuuge waste of manpower.
  2. So are we playing D&D later?
  3. What is this I don't even Tipex. Why in the world did you not use tipex.

You know... You could have just gone under the sea and cut the internet tubes. Would have cost about 0.0005b for diving equipment and a blowtorch.

I finally got my agnaktor beak after EIGHT kills without one (Yes, I broke the beak every time. ) Now I just need to kill Barioth once more, and I'll start grinding away online, since I'll have almost every elemental weapon (Except Undertaker/Skyscraper, but I think those can be safely ignored for now) Helios armour's HG Earplugs are nice, and the Viking Hornsword is one of the coolest looking weapons in the game.
  6. Okay, okay, if people are already accustomed to the lifestyle they have developed around the disability, then yes, they should be able to have the choice to have the implant or not, because as you've said, they are comfortable with their life, and may not want to change. However, I personally believe that the implant should be given to a young child, as it WILL solve a lot of problems that he/she would encounter due to being deaf. Social problems, difficulties learning, a lot of things being innaccessible due to the disability. I mean, if you had the power to stop people being deaf from the moment of birth, starting in two days time, would you? This may be a slightly off analogy, but it gets the point across that if a child was raised and adapted to being deaf, then yes, they may not want their hearing because it would upset the lifestyle. But, if they have the implant and are raised with normal hearing, their quality of life will be higher, since everyday tasks will be much easier to handle. This is because, no matter what, deafness IS a disadvantage. A life with sound IS easier than one without. Whether it is better or not is completely point of view based, but it is definitely easier.
  7. I can offer some insight to the reason, but I have nothing meaningful to post. Icu and I had exams for the last week, so we were mostly absent from gaming, and 2/6 or so players missing is a rather large chunk, meaning that the game goes inactive.
  8. It's only 7:00 PM  Aren't we starting at 10:00? Or are we talking about that Heaven and Hearth thing?
  9. What if I told you that your body was flawed because you are not tall enough? Or strong enough? Or fast enough? What if I told you that blue eyes and blond hair are the most perfect form of the human body and therefore everyone else is "flawed"? There is no reason that hearing is an absolute good and deafness is an absolute evil. And YES, many people do want to be deaf. Many deaf people have told me they would refuse hearing abilities if they were offered it. (But many did say that they would want to hear, and many others would say they would like to be able to try it out if they didnt have to make it permanent) The point is that being able to hear is not an absolute good that everybody needs in order to enjoy their life to the max. There is no reason to implant a young child. An adult who gets the implant will have the same ability to learn it as a young child. But, if you implant a young child, there is a chance they will not be able to learn it properly and will not develop language during the golden window of opportunity for language aquisation. If you have a deaf child you need to teach him sign language because it will come extremely naturally and allow him full cognitive development. I'm sorry, but I can't see your point here. My height does not restrict me, and neither does my level of strength and dexterity (But those can be improved if needed. Likewise, if somebody is deaf, you can improve it by having the surgery, which kind of negates the point). My eyes, regardless of what colour they are, provide me with sight, and if I was bald it would have little to no impact on my life at all. (Also, Godwin's law.) Not being able to hear, however, makes a far larger difference to lifestyle than all of those. I never said deafness was an absolute evil, and I'll be the first to say that people can still have a high quality of life despite having some kind of physical disability, but regardless of anything else, said disability is not how the human body is supposed to work. I can't imagine, nor have ever heard of any person wanting to become deaf. The people who refused this specific treatment but still want to hear, well, that is a completely different issue. It just shows that they do not like being deaf (Or would prefer if their hearing worked properly), although there could be any number of reasons they do not want surgery (Fear of hospitals, spiritualism, etc) The third point, as I see it, is the most important one. It is true that it could affect language development and the ability to learn to speak, read and write, and that should definitely be taken into account.
  10. So... What, is Avernum cancelled? EDIT: I see what you mean now. This game looks wierd. Can you explain the basics?
  11. Did this happen yesterday? I'm completely free for the next 4 or so days, so I can play for however long tonight.
  12. But it is a flaw with the body. It is something failing to provide a function which will help them in life. If something is failing to fulfill it's role (The ear, not the person), then I would count it as "Flawed". As for the whole "Should it be given to those who cannot decide" topic, I think if they grew up with it, they would be thankful that it was done. I mean, it's not like people WANT to be deaf, is it?
  13. Is deafness not a flaw? If I were deaf, I know I'd want it, since it would interfere quite badly in life. "Deaf Culture"? Something about that just sounds really silly to me.

So basically, shoot the hell out of it with ballistas and cannons and dragonators. Got it. Luckily, in my perfectionist frenzy, I have most of the armour of almost all of the monsters in offline, so Uragaan armour isn't a problem.

Sounds pretty annoying. How long does each Jhen fight take?

I have several hundered of each healing item. Except ancient potions, of which I have around 20. I just packrat healing items. But yeah, in that case, I still need an Agnaktor beak for the spiral heat lance. I already have the acrus and spiral lance, and pretty much every other lance, Gobul Muraka or whatever it is, tusk lance, Azure lance (Why, I don't know). I think I'm pretty much set then. I'll start on it when exams are finished. Well, tommorow. I only have two easy ones next week.
  17. Can't play today, Maths is actually hard, which means I actually need to do some revision. Unlike with every other exam, which I haven't done any revision for in the slightest, even though I know I should have.
  18. Well I like the Wii over those two, but Xbox is really close behind. PS3 is "meh" in my books.

I'm still trying to get all the different elemental weapons before I start going online too much. Just need another Agknator beak and I think I'm just about done.

Dohoho, +10 post count for Doom.
  21. I think everyone has lost interest by now, creating yet another abandoned thread of yours. Some advice: Stop making new games then abandoning them less than a week later.
  22. Indeed. I mean, personally, the Monday/Tuesday+Friday/Saturday system would be perfect for me, but I still don't think that everyone else is fine with it, as we can see with Mather, and I wouldn't dream of kicking somebody out of the group because of timezone differences. That would be utterly absurd. Splitting the group in two wont solve anything, but I still don't like the drop in-drop out system, since it's much less organized (I like having the option to put the spotlight on certain players, not sure about Archi), as well as the XP and loot problem. I guess we're left with a kind of catch-22, unless Mather can somehow persuade his parents that being on the computer all the time isn't a bad thing (Any chance of that, Mather?)
  23. Tried running the .Jar file on it's own?
  24. Indeed... But I'd still like to know if people are happy with the current system. After all, once we know that there is actually a problem, we can work at finding a solution. Otherwise, Mather, I assume your phone connection costs a heckton and isn't very fast, so you don't want to use it, correct? Also, why would your parents be angry at you for getting a Wifi USB?
