  1. Ah that's a good question. A few things take some skill, fight cave, pking, some forms of staking...um that's about it. Maybe being poor on rs is being bad at rs. As in you come out behind in most things you do where as a rich person seems to come out ahead.
  2. That's a nice guide. All it needs is maybe a vid and it's pretty much perfect. Got fire cape a few hours ago, this (along with a few other guides) helped immensely, thanks. One thing I would stress is that crystal bow helps a LOT on JAD. The extra range is really helpfull - I used a msb and rune arrows upto JAD (because crystal is still expensive for me and I think the range spec helps a lot on the 90s). Also in my experience if JAD is off the screen then he seems to use range attacks, always in my experience. Oh yea, and relax. I've failed on jad like 10 times, just don't panic if you get hit, just make sure you get the next pray right. Yes mage is possible, he says how in his guide. It's really expensive though, you using like 10k bloods each attempt at least.
  3. Eh it's a good idea, unless you die you could just leave it on for months untill you need that gp and are miles (at least for f2p) from a bank.
  4. Best names are Hero Chief Silvercrap And my dad's rsn is deer brinker..which is pretty funny since he plays rs after comming home from the pub :D An I have a noob called "issac hunt" which is think it pretty original. Say it out loud a few times
  5. Nice article, basically it's fletching that brings in over half the gp. How do you justify that? I'd of thought money made would be proportional to the number of people playing so it'd be a hard one to prove. Unless you have tried it with population values against rare values as well, although I think they would be hard to be sure on. Also how did you calculate the xp for all the people above level 70 (or whatever level). Even if you did it every few k people it must have taken forever :P Or have you got some program thingy that takes values from rs hi-scores and calculates the sum?
  6. It would take something much bigger than this to make them do a roll back. They didn't for the p hat dupe and that was much bigger.
  7. Protect prayers do not give you an advantage in pvp combat is most circumstances. In castle wars for instance, using protect prayers actually gives the *higher* level more chance of winning. Also what is more fun, hitting 30+ or hitting 18s? The sword on halo is a bad analogy. The sword is a very good weapon. It doesn't make you live longer. Often you die faster with the sword than you would otherwise - you an easy target, people are going to shoot you first if you have it. Also there is only generally one of them per map. There is nothing unfair or unfun about the sword.
  8. I reckon rarest items are half wine, pirate hooks, un-id snapdragon and the 4k kills chompy hat.
  9. Pretty much agree with Bubsa on this one. However of course who he is and was effects how people will think of him. That's just common sense. Two questions..how much did you sell? And how long between being banned and someone finding out?
  10. It's probably going to be hp. Might be magic but I doubt I'll get a sudden urge to go alch...urges like that are unhealthy for your sanity :P
  11. My idea is that certain resources prone to autoing have some *nasty* randoms them that only happen if you are under 500 total. They wouldn't happen to start with but the more and more of these favourable resources are extracted the more and more frequent they become. However there is another way to make them go away - a higher leveled player (1000 skill total?) can "sponsor" a person to make them safe from these randoms. If someone sponsors a lot of people that then get banned for autoing, they can't sponsor any more.
  12. If you get 40 slayer you can kill basilisks. They drop a lot of nats.
  13. Well..I was really bored so tried to work it out. On something very easy to hit like experiments you'll need about 9k arrows (assuming you miss 10% of the time on average) On something harder like a fire giant you will need about about 14k arrows. (assuming 40% miss on average)
  14. Longbows have longer range while shortbows are much faster. They both deal the same amount of damage. Accrate is um..more accurate and rapid is..more rapid? :P Rapid shoots faster and is the mode a bow should almost always be in.
  15. Well..after I get up from rolling around on the floor from all that laughing :P ok not really.. The most general definition of a pure account is one that has some very high skills in relation to it's other skills. So you have wc pures, maybe with low stats but very high wc ect ect. You also have combat based pures, the more common type. These generally have very high str range and or mage, with low defence so they hit very hard for their level - for instance a very good level 65 mage pure can use ice barrage (!!!) at the cost of having 1 defence. Pj is another pking team, meaning "pile jump". When you kill someone, all their stuff is in a pile and then while your trying to pick it up someone else might attack you, ie pile jump you. The person attacking is a pjer. p2p means pay to play, f2p means free to play :P ftw means "for the win"
  16. Wow nice bumping a 2 year old post whoever did that :P Anyways I'm doing combat.
  17. Yeah you do need dragon slayer to wear green dragonhide body. However you don't need it to wear blue, red or black body.
  18. Go play WoW.. Jagex don't care, it's not worth their while to correct the odd mistake, simply too time consuming.
  19. No life at bandits for a while, see what combat I end up at. A goal..hmm...110 combat by the end of the week, 108 now.
  20. What we need is for a lot of people keep a diary of their slayer tasks and any notable drops they get. Would quickly become huge and you can throw out any suspect data quite easily. So a lot of people just keep a record something like.. 146 fire giants - 2 rune scimmies and a half key 120 jellies - 1 rune large and a clue 176 gargoyles - 2 addy boots and a maul ect ect...of course you would have to let people know what you we're collecting data on, since you assume if they don't mention it they didn't get any. Also I heard same as duke freedom on drop rates for med, at least that was the popular rumour when it came out and quite widely accepted.
  21. Nice to hear from one of the top ranked players for once. Next week galaxyg :P
  22. The problem is that people send 25 queries. I think I've sent about 6 ever and that includes old bug reports and suggestions before forums. I agrtee with this articles, it's a hard job to fill well. It's not very well paid and many people get pretty sick of it. At the end of the day, some cs staff probably don't give a monkey if your banned of not - it's just a case of 30 seconds, ban or not ban, next please.
  23. I'd love a higher lvl cap. Lvl 120 is about 100m xp - now that'd really be something would it not. So say you make level cap on combat skills 120 - you will have a FEW people higher lvl than anyone else, loads of fun. Also it will motivate people to specialise in one combat type, since very few could get flat 120s. For instance, I really like ranging, I still like training it even but it seems a bit pointless with over 15m xp in it. I'd love if there was something to aim for again. Pking..I think gets boring without variation. What's the fear in deep wild if it's easy to get 120 combat and not be scared of running into a 135? Someone said all games have level caps and gave WoW as an example. However, I'm guessing here but I'm sure there is a lot more variation between lvl 60 WoW characters than there are 123 runescape characters.
  24. I liked the story, you have an entertaining style of writing. Chains are for selling though :P
