  1. self explainatory. a reason why would be appriciated  ~penguin
  2. Absolute perfection. =D> This should be in the debate section. And if money is an issue (which it is for 97% of us) then we are all buying a DFS when it hits rock bottom unless the drop percentage is high on the new stuff and they fall to a reasonable price. ~penguin
  3. My guess is yes, they have no restrictions like the changing properties of the DFS or degrading.
  4. this proves it. most tip.it ers are stupid.. Are you saying that the "average damage" you take is directly between the max damage you will take and zero? I really don't think this is the case...When I'm at GWD I can take 30s from bandos when I'm tanking, but that doesn't mean that on average, each attack does 15 damage to me (including minions and everything). You take way more low numbers and zeros from the minis than you do their high 20s. This gets even more clear when you go to DKs. The spins hit tons of zeros for minutes then score a 8 out of nowhere. Calling the "average hit" the midpoint between zero and the max hit is definitely wrong in most situations. Also, it depends on whether or not there is a chance that the prevention effect can be "applied" to zero hits Just curious how you're getting your number, as that would be a lot more helpful to post than just a blatant insult at our intelligence without any numbers or calculations to back your words up. Anyone can just say that the other person is an idiot and not give a reason. [/hide] Are you serious? Do i really have to explain maths to you? Where did i state that average is half way between the max and the minimum? It blocks damage 70% of the time, and when it does, the damage inflicted is reduced by 25%. Did you ever study maths? This is simple probability, 25% damage reduction is dependant on the damage reduction activating It activates 70% of the time, therefore, on average, 17.5% of damage would be avoided. It's simply one probability multiplied by another, if you cannot grasp that then don't even try argue a point.. You cannot claim a formula by just picking a few numbers out of your head and saying LOOK!! its closer to 7!! That provides no proof, that's fools math. Here, i'll pick some random numbers for you, 5 , 5 , 5 , 5 , 5 Now prove they weren't random. You can't. If your going to come here with a fools attitude of trying to prove me wrong then you have failed miserably. I agree with you, i understood the 17.5% the first time... Let's just all be friends and agree the new shields own :
  5. I predict it going to 8-10 but i'm just hoping  and I believe the spectral is gonna be widely overlooked, epic win at castle wars or certain slayer tasks.(spectres respectively) i do have to say though, where's the ranger shield? mage got a +20 boost with the arcane? Where's my +20 boost with rune c bow =\ ~penguin Do you REALLY think range is more deserving of new equipment than mage? Ever since the crossbow and bolt revamp, mage has been the weakest of the 3 combat styles. I'm pretty sure the last major thing we got was a new batch of Lunar spells. Mages desperately needed some more equipment. Very true. Sorry i just love range =]

  7. No? The DFS fell 900k between yesterday and today. I sold mine yesterday and plan to buy it back when it settles.
  8. Does this overall mean the price of a DFS is gonna tank soon? I can't really decide but i don't want my 20m investment tanking to 8m =\ anyone wanna buy a DFS?
  9. yea i was thinking about the new gear from that update as well. Thanks ~Penguin
  10. I believe most of us are aware of the new quest, Spirit's End, and the reward that follows, a spirit shield. I might actually do this quest (and i never quest.) Anyway, i happen to have recently (month ago?) purchased a dfs. It's dropped 2.5m since then and i have a horrible feeling i'll see it fall to 10m or lower in the next week because of the update. Advise? Sell? Keep? :? ~penguin
  11. anyone else super angry about this :wall: :wall: :wall: i just bought my dfs for 20m and it's at 17.5m now which is already bad, plus this is gonna nerf the dfs to like nothing. i think i'll sell it really soon but i love it =\
  12. i think a lot of you missed something, the d full or 3rd age. now yes some things are more rare than that but those are by far the rarest drops. and 3rd age is pretty much obsolete since barrows/gwd items/dfs. remember it's rarest item not achievement.
  13. nice lol  but yea i have found friends in my high school that play but they all quit eventually. Runescape is looked down upon. Fact. It's slowly getting better in the public's eyes, but it has a long way to go. O and my family is a whole different story. :wall: ~penguin
  14. Well let's see. -They are advertising at gaming conventions and exploiting RSHD heavily. Basically they're advertising to those who want to listen. My YOUNGER brother makes fun of me for playing runescape. I honestly don't care that much about him, but (completely honestly) i do worry about my friends finding out. I don't advertise at all unless i'm certain they play as well. But enough about that, -Word of mouth is literally free (even big companies smile at that) -There is no shortage of new players -until word of mouth becomes insufficent, it will be the primary source of new revenue. -Lastly, Java is still new (I bet some of you didn't know that) and it's incredibly difficult to code small graphics. Until Jagex can produce a STRONG graphics engine, (I give all the credit in the world to Jagex for doing what they have with Java code) and i mean WoW strong, they will have a tough time converting the consumers vision of RS being a low def point and click. ~penguin (that all probably sounds a little hypocritical  )
  15. can't really be done in paint but i never said i was good at it.
  16. As long as you wish me gl on 99 range
  17. Range along with prayer, magic, smithing, construction, crafting, and herblore are all buyable capes. Just, b/c they are more expensive does not mean they are not buyable. Range-Chinchompas Magic-Ancientz Prayer-D-bones and Poh...might be fastest skill to get to 99. Smithing-Gold ore How can you look down on fletching and cooking, while you highly upon these skills. They should all be under the same category. "Can be done in two weeks with enough money." Hunter is looked down upon too and you cant buy it. I completely disagree. Every 99 deserves credit, but the amount of credit differs in every cape Yes, you can sit for 2 weeks and get cooking, but then again that's a hard thing to do. I'm getting itchingly close to 99 range and to have you say it's a "buyable" skill just kills me. Have you ever chinned? I range to make the money to chin and even then you have to pay complete attention the whole time and personally, i don't think it's even close to worth it. If i'm gonna go the whole 99 without buying it, to have you sit there w/out a range cape and say i bought it honestly makes me think so much less of the average runescapian and the ignorance most of them have. How would you feel if you spent 3 months of your virtual life or more getting a "perfect" in a skill and have someone trash it b/c they don't have it or it's easier than the trickest capes. I do agree it's easy to get a cooking skill cape, but then again it's still 2 full weeks of bordom and that takes dedication. Not all of us have the commitment or time due to real life activities. I give all the credit in the world to slayer capes and herblore capes just b/c of the rarity. But i want my range cape to be appriciated, just like human nature feels like it wants to be appriciated for their hard work. ~Penguin
  18. I'm headed to 99 ranged as it is. I started to train to 70 to just get the hide but realized how much money i was making so i continued. I got up into the 80's and just loved training it. Ever since void there's not a more satisfying feeling in the world than taking down a higher lvl meleer with the low def void set a c bow =]] Besides that i knew it wasn't the slowest either, i knew i could chin but i hate to do it. It's expensive and i really don't see the exp flying in.
  19. The unsolved mystery of the crystal halberd anyone?! I"m looking forward to the reward but i have to weigh my disinterest with questing with the rewards/requiments i don't have.
  20. That's kinda funny actually, i had a senior say that runescape was the greatest game ever (and not a geek i mean a senior, senior.) He wasn't even kidding actually. got to lvl 82 and i just laughed in my head a little . but no i really hate it that it's looked so down upon. it's basically: Low res Not WoW an MMO Internet game that isn't just tetris or the falling sand game.. regarded as a child's game (which is partially is some of the time, majority lies in F2P in that subject.) You pay for it (unlike xbox live?) But w/e i love it and won't stop until i'm bored or just can't play anymore. ~Penguin
  21. I remember when i was just starting out really, all i wanted ever was a set of guthan's. I killed tons of blue drags and sold the hides for weeks for a set i didn't know what to do with. I finally got it around 8m so it does make me a little sad to see it so low. I completely understand why, just a little sad. ~Penguin
  22. how does mage not hit as high? as far as i know, range has the possibility to hit higher than melee and mage. ~penguin
  23. magic is either a very expensive or a very boring skill. efficiently, you can burst/barrage things/people but that's insane cash. Profit wise, you can still high alch your way but at the expense of time and extreme bordom. Being a guy headed for 99 range i prefer it way more People don't realize the power behind it, a lucky Dark bow spec can nearly KO hitting around 96. I don't know if you can hit higher than that but i know 96 is possible 8-) More over, when killing anything, the runes for spells usually outweighs the profit of the item/s dropped by a monster. A ranger can use bone bolts if he wants and still hit around what a mid level spell does. Has anyone tested broad bolts? 75 ea that rival addy bolts. I make around 250k an hour at certain spots (not telling  ) and it used to be more than that. P.S. Void ranger ftw. ~penguin
