They fudged the knowledge base again. The master robes appear to be F2P since it doesn't have the member's only tag, but when you head over to the guild it's actually P2P. Since most opponents are usually robots it is not all that difficult to win every single game. And for some people, mainly the GOP zealots, 60k tokens is a drop in the bucket. EDIT: experience per hour in GOP is tediously slow, but your experience is initially doubled. Then you start adding exp boosts, like runecrafting gloves to triple it. But most don't really play the minigame for the experience if they enjoy it, they play it for the simple yet intriguing mechanics. These robes seem tailored for those who like the minigame.

Correct, but most people don't really do that. Though if somebody starts asking really personal stuff, even something as casual and flip as, "where ya from?" is useful for social engineering.

Most Runescape account hacks occur because of social engineering. Facebook contributes to that because the mark often has plenty of fine details there to start a recovery attempt.

Too late. You being de-modded for this in many people's eyes makes you a martyr. Players fed up with the direction Jagex is going made you into their martyr. That's not inherently a bad thing, mind you. Coming at the heels of the referral update, the answer to the question of "does Jagex deserve the best F2P title a third year in a row" is even more obvious.

It brings into question Jagex's wisdom on even having him made into a moderator in the first place. Then start thinking about those moderators who mute for dicing on their turf. Hah! Well, arguing when they jumped the shark isn't really what I'm getting at. Gaining enough - or overwhelming - evidence affecting gameplay to present that they did so would've lent solid weight to the claim. For what it's worth, the artisan workshop pop-up in F2P still irks me. Well - there's a problem with that idea -- namely: if they allot loyalty points for this, then they make the "jack of Trades" auara more readily accessible, which is going to topple the applecart a lot more than this proposal ever will. :unsure: Let it be accessible. They can always come up with more so-called loyalty rewards.

What amuses me most is only now can Blyaunte claim Jagex has jumped the shark. And has Jagex forgotten the social stigma attached to Runescape? I think the kids still scoff at other kids for playing this game.

Been thinking about those who sell membership pins for gold. Say a customer wants to buy the boost. He refers the pin seller in return for his gold, a straightforward enough fair exchange. The buyer gets his boost without the hassle of a friend while the seller recoups the membership cost with the guy's gold well as the perks that come with the new account, which he can then sell immediately to a farmer for a profit.

Go pass it on then. It supports an already borderline microtransaction system in my eyes, but hey, might as well make the "loyalty" in the name appear to count.

Get rid of the experience booster for the referrer. Put in points for the existing loyalty programme instead. That'll fix the idea. EDIT: The referral system is not at fault, get that idea straight. It's the boosters that are a problem.

Plus they encourage you to pull the cracker with the player that invited you. What happened to the multiple login rule? For years I've always operated under the impression that, if the accounts do not interact at all meaning they definitely are not on the same world, then it is no problem. Encountered plenty of people who thought that way also - and others who just go ahead and do it anyway. Using the cracker on your pure is an invitation to breaking your "multiple login rule."

I like how they mention you can refer yourself. Makes it very blatant what they're trying to do.
