From what I understood, you stated that Runescape had more subscribers than any other MMO, a genre which also includes WoW. Question was, "Is Runescape dying?" Because of Runescape's nature of being F2P and P2P at once, you can't just consider only P2P. I'm bringing up F2P because if they can't attract people's attention into considering to try out the free game because they've other, better games to play that are also free, then that'll cut into their numbers of getting new members. It's pretty obvious from the renewed marketing blitz and goodies Jagex is throwing out there.

Should've stated Runescape has the most subscribers of an F2P model. Your previous statement is still wrong, but at least you corrected it. Still no question other F2P games are cutting into Jagex's pie, even if they are following the microtransactions route.

What an erroneous statement. Look at your own graph. WoW has more subscribers than just about any other MMO out there. And don't forget the other games released the past two years or so that are now competing in Jagex's niche as free-to-play. League of Legends comes to mind, and then there's that veritable host of free-to-play Valve games. And don't forget about Maple Story.

Only if you're F2P, because you don't net them any profit. (Don't give me the advertisement argument, bots can disable viewing ads in their clients entirely just like how Firefox has adblock.) It's rare for a banned F2P account to be returned rolled back. P2P is something else since they're more or less the cash cow. It's essentially a two-tier punishment system. Bot once in F2P, chances are you're perm-banned. Get botting as a first offence in P2P, you're more likely to be rolled back. (And keep paying members anyway while botting it back up.) Feh.

You are correct, but one thing to note: every fool and their cat who got rolled back and then claim they got hacked obviously botted. The hack plea is an old trick in the book.

Got to love the sense of entitlement and the "I'm innocent it was the masked hacker over there!" pleas everywhere. Bunch of kids with their hands caught in the cookie jar. People like that sicken me. If you're going to cheat, sure, but be aware of the consequences and accept what happens.

No, not if there isn't any enough evidence, and it looks to me like only a few friends knew the account ownership changed. It's very rare for accounts to get banned for being sold if done carefully. You'd be amazed how many people even share accounts, much less sell or buy them. Even if the ISPs are different, laying it to rest for at least a day or two is enough caution. It just has to be from the same country or continent. It gets real fishy if the account logs in from Australia when before it was in the Netherlands. Now that is liable to get unwanted attention from Jagex's security team.

Don't jump the gun, it hasn't been confirmed that they've been banned for macro.

Mod Chrisso seems to be really new at Jagex. That thread mentions him having only been there for a year somewhere in one of his posts, he got bumped up from customer support to game testing.

Bills and receipts aren't really necessary, just other personal details only the owner would know about. Social engineering's probably the most successful and common form of hacking for Runescape. Frankly, I think it's amazing recoveries can get so far on so little.

Rather prefer this wording: only one person can destroy your honour, and that is yourself. There is a difference between reputation and honour. The first is what people know about you. The second is what you know about yourself. This is true no matter where you go, it only seems especially this way in the west because of how much emphasis we put in our media.

Feh. And this certainly is lovely to look at, right in front of the bloody bank. The only safe F2P world is 113. The 1000+ skill total requirement's effectively put a stop to throwaway accounts spamming at least. It's driven me to take matters into my own hands if I want a considerably enjoyable experience.

It still can be done. Prayer has always worked with these decimal values *I believe*, we just didn't see them. Yea, I've been using it for a long time. Question now is whether prayer drain just looks faster, or actually is faster.
