Also remember the dragon pickaxe itself could just be a quest reward - or a minigame reward. Anyway imo I dont see it matters that much if players get this reward as following the same pattern needed for the inferno adze you need to complete a minigame to get it. That atleast involves some effort and not an instant upgrade. A smithing requirement would be there but still some effort completing some new minigame to unlock it. Its not like its some uber new weapon that one hits everythings. Its just some pickaxe with faster ability than rune and possibly some special ability. Its not like it will change anything that much if someone has it as its pretty much a obsolete skill. The only thing it effects is some people who get geepee if its a monster drop or not? There are already enough such things and its only a select few who get it for free after completing some minigame with unknown requirements inc necessities/danger. The average miner wont have the ability to get the upgrade and be forced to buy the normal pickaxe so I again dont see it will effect the price much. Those with the levels deserve it or those who want the levels have got something to aim for. That said - Its likely and makes sense that the dragon pickaxe upgraded (If there will be such a thing) wont come at the same time. Why release one update and you got perfectly two good updates. Tbh they should of made it an requirement to have a dragon axe which you upgraded to the inferno adze. Meaning you still have to buy or get a dragon axe first. Then it be less a problem with the dragon pickaxe as it would require the same thing. Perhaps they should of done that as it seems alot fairer all round. People still got a great power tool to woodcut/fm with and a decent requirement to go with it. More people needing it still should keep the price higher. Whatever happens... I just hope it doesnt just require 40 mining and 50 smithing to get. -.- it wont. if it does, then jagex is just dumb. rune pick is already 41 mining, and adze has that requirement...but i see where youre coming from with the dragon axe 'upgrade' for adze if adze is as fast as dragon axe in woodcutting. but see, adze was relased a long time after dragon axe was, so there wasnt really any need to have an upgrade, since the dragon axe would be cheaper than the cost of getting the levels to use adze.

looking at the first few posts of the 70's levels...i wish i had that little exp til the next levels :P my oh my how time flies, and once arduous tasks seem almost insignificant...and im not even over the half way hill yet... :?

I don't really know what you're trying to say...mining and wc are EXTREMELY different. a drag pick wouldn't affect the axe price as they are different skills to begin with, and the dry axe probably won't go any lower if you're saying why don't we talk about adze vs drag wc axe, the adze was released when drag axe had been out over 2 years. so there are already many of them in circulation, so there are too many for the price to be affected heavily

my thoughts exactly. it wouldn't be fair, no matter the cost of the upgrade (if there is one). tbh adze should stay as it is. giving it a free pick upgrade is just fail by jagex

how is that possible? adze is on par with rune pick, and both require 41 mining. drag pick will be probably 61 mining. so....a pick that requires a higher level will be worse than those that require a lower level...are you thinking straight?

Ok, so I was playing just now when a question entered my mind (and asked to me by a friend). Since the Inferno Adze is the two best woodcutting and mining tools combined in one, should it get an upgrade once the Dragon Pickaxe comes out (to keep it as the 'best')? I say no, because people who already have Adze will get a *possibly* free upgrade. An upgrade that in the first month of the new pick's release could be worth somewhere in the 10M range, maybe more. Granted, they can't sell Adze to turn a profit, but they wouldn't need to buy the new pick and spend 10M either. It wouldn't be fair, in my mind, to those people who don't have Adze but would like the best pick in the game to drop 10M of their cash to get it, whereas Adze really only costs about 2M max (to get 92 Firemaking to wield). What are your thoughts?

i like your drop-x idea...doesnt have a drop all so its not too easy. even though all you really need is to type >28 and all drop anyways but still, simple

mine-X!!! jagex make a mine-X and ruin my favorite skill in RS!!! and therefore make the cape go from super respectable to as nooby as fletch and such!!! and while youre at it, make a runecraft-X that automatically runs you from edgy bank, over the wildy ditch, auto click on zammy mage, pass abyss obstacles, clicks on correct rift, crafts your ess (an even does it for pouches), and teles you back to edgeville via glory, and EVEN changes glories once you run out of charges! and throw in a free click on the abyss zammy mage to repair pouches?

i made a post wayy back in the summer suggesting pk worlds that only included edgeville for bank and then wildy. GJ jagex for listening :P
