From that stance everything in the whole game is optional because there is nothing forcing you to do any of it besides your own desire. And whilst is is true everything is optional in an mmorpg, there is a distinct difference from something very obviously setup to be completed to meet that 'completed everything' accomplishment, thus being required by it and something that literally has no implications to any other content if you choose to not pursue it. Well, in my opinion some stuff should be set up to be completed easily, whereas other things can remain difficult to make them "greater" accomplishments. The skilling outfits, for example, should tend to be the former (only the construction outfit/RC robes are like this) because they provide real benefits and would be useful to have. Things like the phoenix eggling or Champions' Challenge would fall into being more "prestige" achievements that you'd complete for the sake of completing and not for utility.

It begs the question of "What created the Elder Gods?" This is the most terrifying shit I've ever read.

The point is that they're still making changes to basic, fundamental mechanics of the combat system. It's not the same as in pre-EOC where they added new combat items or made small tweaks; they're changing what eating food does, how eating food heals, the whole LP system (again), as well as abilities which affect the core rotations and style effectiveness. In comparison, pre-EOC combat changes are harmlessly minor (sharkbrew change which was reverted quickly, extra magic damage from staves)

A system similar to minigame hybrid armour would be decent for something like ibis, at best. An alternative would be something similar to Shards of Armadyl, which counters problems of extreme rarity and rewards consistent effort. OSRS has two skilling sets that are obtained in this fashion, and it's quite an enjoyable way to obtain your gear. There's still not much that beats the kick of obtaining a super rare drop, though. When I got my SOTG everyone in the house heard it, lol.

wait are you only now complaining about how an update was implemented 3 years ago on the opposite side of your argument, wouldn't the people who only took 2 hours to obtain ibis/SOTG much prefer the RNG system? like a certain ex-crew member on this site

When they graphically updated Kree'Arra's model, they mentioned that they had to keep him on the ground as having him fly could cause unwanted stretching/clipping. Anyway, his wings apparently generate so much wind force that it keeps you from being able to melee him at all.

Abilities have a maximum damage of a certain percentage of your weapon damage (e.g. 188%), and then a range of values based on that (25% to 100% of ability damage). For instance, if an ability deals 100% weapon damage, the damage on your hitsplat is anywhere from 25% to 100%. There's not as much variation as autoattacks (0% to 100%), but it's still there (25% to 100%). You're just as likely to hit 400s with Slice as 1500s.

... max hits already exist? Just use your best ability when you're overloaded/on prayers, and try to hit higher and higher. Sure, they exist. But they bearly mean anything. The scaling down of things will help the max hit arguement. Im not asking much in overhauls just so that people know when they are actually hitting good and what they are hitting. Big numbers everywhere is like ehhh. Its the norm. Is there honestly a difference between someone hitting 3000 on a player with 9900LP, as opposed to 300 on a player with 990LP?

They've probably re-tiered LP, so it's going to be like pre-EOC where you had a massive amount from your constitution then a bit more from Nex sets.
