I recently chinned from roughly 75 - 96 Ranged. From 96 - 97 I got purely from Tormented Demons. Now that I recently got 97 I figured I might as well spend the few hours to get it to 99 but I haven't the slightest clue how many to buy. I have full Armadyl, Ranger's set, Unholy Book, Hydra (84 Summoning), like 3K ranged potions. How many chinchompas do you think I should buy for 99 Ranged from 97?

After getting 2 claws in one day TDs got both dry and boring for the past 4 or 5 days so I went to Armadyl. :).

I'll try without a BoB and report my KC. ;). I bet I can hit about 50. Killcount is irrelevant when you're killing so slowly. I would be impressed if you got 50KC and you were using piety/turmoil and eagle eye/leech it's not only about how long you stay, but also how fast you kill. especially at TD's where the banking time is so short anyway Without extremes and turmoil, I've killed (Though not often) before their shield. I usually hit them down to 1/4 health before their shield restores. Not sure if that's good or bad. >.< Killing before shield can just be a matter of luck. To do it consistently is a whole other matter. Also, there's no reason NOT to use piety and eagle eye other than if you don't want to click that much. The extra cost of the prayer potions is well paid for by the speed of the kills. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you. :)

Why use arma when it has negative melee bonuses.. at least use a warriors ring to make up for some lost bonuses :mellow: You're saying this just as he unveils his epic killcount? And again, like I said before, Using a BoB is OBVIOUSLY going to give you more kills, it's NOT hard to get many kills using a BoB I'll try without a BoB and report my KC. ;). It's not hard at all if you use a BoB, it's just pointless. I bring turtle pouches and fire titans. I wouldn't call it pointless seeing as how I never have to bank. I wear what I see as the best hybrid gear: Add unlholy book and rune cbow. When starting the trip, the turtle has some back-up brews and restores, but lots of room for drops. Once my supplies start to slowly deplete, I'll put my drops in my inventory, get rid of the tort and use a titan. That trip I had no need for the titan. My inventory is all prayer potions and super sets with holy wrench and pouches. I only have 1 inventory space that I use for emergency food. My SGS is what keeps me alive. I very very very rarely get hit as I'm extremely fast with prayers. I use curses. No saps or leaches, just deflects. I can't complain. It's gotten me 2 claws in one trip in the past. Not sure the exact number of kills because for the first 5 - 10 kills I leave the charms on the ground. I don't pick up gold or green... And pick up crimson only once I start to have room which is several kill in. So that's not nearly all the charms I could have had from that trip. Lol.

Think about everything you gain from them: -- 2.5M/hr profit -- ~30 blues a trip + ~15 crims. my personal record was 51 blues, and i only used 2 uni's. -- better reaction ability to prayer switch -- easy to start, end, prepare for a trip I wasted probably 100 hours getting all the reqs for them. but i think they're definitely worth it. i've made 130M from them and went from 79 to 92 summoning thanks to the xp weekend and the charms i had banked from td's. My problem is I can't stay nearly long enough. On most trips I last about 5-6 kills, yet I see people with my stats and equipment (sometimes worse) lasting up to 20 or 25 kills. The actual killing I find fun, they're kind of like mini-jads, but every time something goes wrong that causes me to lose more food than I should. It always just seems like a stroke of bad luck, but the fact that it's happened on twelve trips is making me think I must be doing something wrong :\ Yes, if something happens like that for 12 trips that just means your methodology is wrong. In the WORST case scenarios, where you have more than 2 TD's on you, the best solution is always to LOG OUT and redo the lure. This will save you tons of food. You should almost NEVER have 3 TD's attacking you simultaneously (some exceptions). If 3 attack you for more than 5 seconds, youre doing something wrong. Make sure you're in the right luring spots. The best luring spot is the northeast one, if you're just learning to lure. If you use the middle north one, it's easy to get attacked by the other TD's if you didn't pre-lure them. Best is to start out luring at NE and then once you have an intution of which TD's should go where, should you use the middle north one. Technically, middle north is faster since you can do two spawns, but for simplicity's sake I always do NE. To unspam: Here's my TD log. I use 2 uni pouches for each trip, but only use about 20 minutes of the second uni. I bring 10 potss per trip (sometimes only 5 if I don't have that much time). Most of this log was when I didn't have extremes, and I don't have turmoil. I use rune cbow with broad bolts and BGS. I've recently switched to whip after getting extremes. The rate is about the same. Note that trips are significantly (20%-50%) longer with soul wars cape. The real kills per trip limitation is prayer. One IMPORTANT thing people forget that kills per trip isn't always important. In the case of TD's, the overhead time (banking, preparing) is very minimal - I can get ready within 3 minutes. The speed of the kills is important. The trips where I get low amounts of kills reflect where I only bring 5 prayer pots, and say, 5 spec restores. These speed up my kills. Also, I end a lot of my trips early because friends call me to hang out in the middle of them / people come and bother me etc. My empirical droprate is roughly 1/270. Given the ~1000 kill sample size, I should say it's fairly accurate. What is that number between the trip # and the drop? Ex, 700... All I know is that drop rate is BS. Currently I'm on a drop rate of about 1/1300 after about 4k tds, probably due for my 3rd pair soon so I estimated as if I've gotten 3 pairs... too bad I'm probably not because I get so bored at tds now because of the lack of drops. It's literally put me to sleep at about 11 pm. [/hide] That's terrible luck! If I spend a day at TDs we can pretty well expect a claw drop. I find it odd that some can spend millions and millions and get nothing at all while others seem to rake them in... But I do believe drop rates should be slightly tweaked to benefit those who try and try only to get nothing in return.

Jagex really needs to learn to count... Wednesday March 31st I was there alone and got my 36 TD kills. Then, without me teleing, a friend came to join me. We coinshared a bit (About 10 - 20) and he left. I stayed there another 25 kills and apparently it lost count. :blink: . I just finished a lengthy solo trip today and it say I killed only one. Lmao. Claw count: 2 coinshared yesterday morning. No-lifed it all day yesterday and today with nothing since...

I quite agree with you, this would open up a huge realm of possibilities that could greatly improve the gaming experience for many players, not just the developers who would utilise it! I'm just not quite sure I can see it happening though, doesn't seem 'Jagex' like - perhaps they'll change though? I'd also imagine that the player-base that this kind of addition would cater to would be immensely less than it is on many other MMORPGs - unfortunately! I'm also not certain what their 'new' client will be like. An entirely new client, built off a different platform would be fantastic! But really, all I see happening is Jagex producing a 'utility' client, much like we have in SwiftKit that utilises some of their own databases and simply provides the game playable through their current applet. The Grand Exchange site isn't that difficult to produce a parser for - certainly viable to use that rather than RuneScript from what I've seen at least. But I do see what you mean, having a nice API for it would be brilliant! :) I know the GE is easily parsable, but to get all the information on one item, you'd have to do 2 parses. One to get the list of search results which would only show the current price and change today and the links to each items extra information. Then you'd have to do a second parse to get their actual minimum, market, maximum prices, percentage changes over 30, 90, and 180 days, and graphs. Instead of doing 2 downloads and 2 parses from Jagex, you can get all that in one parse of RuneScript. :P. I'd rather parse RuneScript anyways as 99% of the time their servers are much faster then retrieving all the information from Jagex.
