I think the new client will be a standalone application which still uses the same cache files. I am 90% sure it will produce higher performance in game. Java is a memory hog so yeah. Now, being a developer of the Micro, I can study how they did it and possibly myself and Jason (Developer of SK) can include and maybe embed it in our own clients to speed things up! :D. [/hide] I would like to see API's where developers can, using a developers ID key, access read only variables of the game. For example, they could put all of the chats in the game into separate servers. If they were to do this, they could provide an read-only access url, something like "chat22.runescape.com/devkey=34343ffffw". Developers could then parse the data into a label or text box and then stream the chat to a toolkit like SK. I would like to be able to stream the chat in game onto the LCD on my G15 keyboard. I created an add on in wow which does that, but I don't think Jagex will ever break out of their shell. Yeah, the only think Jagex has really done for developers is the hiscores page. Would be nice to see more abilities like the one you stated. I also think it'd be nice to see the number of players in certain areas of the map. For example, I could look at the GWD in world 76 and see the player count inside. Even small things would help us. For example an easily parsed GE database. Instead we have to use RuneScript's servers. However, they've stayed in their shell this long, I doubt they're about to change anytime soon.

From an online gaming hacker perspective, that's awesome! Of course, since 99% of RuneScape is server-sided, you can't edit anything through typical game hacking methods that would be anything more then just visual (Like making it look like you have 2B using cheat engine by editing Java[Caution: Executable File]). But I'm sure this will open up some doors for some interesting things (Which, again, will only be visual). ^^. And now I know I'm going to get PMed from people asking me to write them Battlefield or WarRock hacks and people posting below flaming because I like to write them. :P. I'm sure all of the people saying, "This is bad / bannable / cheating," wouldn't use that feature of the mouse of they had it... They're all good little angels. </sarcasm> The mouse came with those drivers / software. Should he not have installed the required drivers? And now that he did, should he not get what he paid for and use that one rapid click button? Don't BS anybody... If you had purchased a mouse that automatically had a rapid click button, you'd use it too. And to the people saying their mice don't require other software because it's "Built into Windows"... Do you not notice, even though it may not require a CD or the internet that when you plug it in you see, "Found new hardware," and then, "Your new hardware is now installed and ready to use". If you'd get upset just because someone else is gaining XP, which to begin with is sad, or that they have an unfair advantage... There's a simple solution. Click one of the links in this thread and click, "Add to cart" and buy the damn thing. TBH, it's like me having 300+ frames per second playing Battlefield because I bought a better graphics card and them telling me to keep it at 25 - 30 frames per second and my graphics on medium to make it fair for the people who don't have such a good card. Summary: People willing to buy better / more expensive equipment will have an advantage at any game. Just the game can run on a stone-aged computer, doesn't mean it has to. Cue the flaming and people only quoting / criticizing the least important parts of this post.

Dear God! Lol I've not done Bandos in a while... I prefer Sara and Arma. But, If I can go and get that many kills in one trip I may find myself Bandosing a lot more. Is it mainly the Divine keeping you alive that long? Been wanting to get off my butt and buy one but a bit too lazy. This might motivate me a bit. ^^

Been using a mouse with turbo click for years... Was banned once for a week (Using it to fletch) but once I explained it was a mouse with a rapid click button the offense was quashed. It's not third party software, it's his hardware. If you don't like someone having better technology and having an advantage over you, buy one. If I have a better graphics card while playing an online FPS which gives me incredible frame rates while others are stuck at 10 frames per second, am I cheating because I have better hardware?

Why not purely use GTK or another multiplatform kit instead of a half done project based on a hotkey kit? I thought I'd just give you the heads up a lot of people are going to be annoyed you cut the credits from the entries your linking to. Well, as I said before it wasn't designed to really be spread. I didn't want it to be an easy project and I don't want it to be a quick one either. To say that we designed the multiplatform kit ourselves and I single handedly developed my own client from it is mainly to say we can / did as well as the learning curve. Also, the client will obviously not be the only thing developed using it which is also a good reason for me to get the grasp of it and learn the ropes. Sure there are better methods, but which way has more pride (So to speak)? :P. Didn't really think people would mind that I took the credits out of the item / monster databases for my own program. Lol. So what if we don't know that Fudgy999 found out that the high alchemy value of an adamant 2h sword is 3840Gp. :P. If there is a fuss about it, there's an easy fix. ;). Edit: To the questions before... The IRC client is in progress at the moment and there is currently no download (Although there may be soon). I have few testers (Mainly friends with different OS / SPs) and will probably release it to my clan.

I'm writing a cross-platform / console client at the moment that has all the features of SK. Of course not all of the features will work on the mobile device, but most will (Like database searches, GE searches / notifications, hiscores, adventurer's logs, etc). :)

But I started this one about 2 - 3 days ago. It uses IronAHK (Which is developed by myself and a large group of other people), C++, and GDI+. I like it at least. Didn't really make it in hopes for it to be popular, just in hopes that I'd like it enough to use it and make my life easier.. Lol. It's not bad considering it's only been 2- 3 days and I get no support from Tip.It or Zybez like SK gets. It's currently got all of the same features as SK, but everything is done in one window, it has 3 browser windows (RuneScape, Databases, YouTube) and still uses 1/3 the memory, it'll run on other platforms (Ex. Linux) and even run on mobile devices / other consoles. ^^.

Whips were right below the rares in the picture. Santas/masks were to the right of whips. Gilded and god armor was to the right of santas/masks. 3rd age was near the smith house. Furys and onyx rings, also infinity robes were near the tree patch. Karils/Ahrims was in the little fenced area in the middle of the park. Dharoks was top left of the black area in the picture, torags bottom left, Guthans top right, Veracs between guthans and dharoks. Dragon boots were at the very left of the pond. Runes were below the bank. Chins and a bit of range gear was to the left of the bank. I also remember Glories being just south of the fence, north of the bank. And cheaper yet still demanded clue scroll items being below the house with a stove. I know the map was quite extensive, which is why I would like it for a reference or perhaps a graphic for the article. Thanks you two :grin: Just did this from what I remember. If you, or anyone else, can remember anything not included, please tell me and I can add it.

Not done PvP in a while... Miss the good ol' days. :D. He had full Bandos, DFH, DFS, Fury, 10M+ in alcs. :D. And my most proud one (Don't think I posted this one yet)...

I highly doubt it will make prices lower in the long run... Especially if Jagex does decide to do this on a semi-regular basis. I don't mind though. All godswords are dropping dramatically as well as all armors. I think they will continue to drop as long as people are selling them to buy supplies for 2.7x XP day. I've currently got 450M+ in herbs and am making over 40M an update. When I do sell, I'll get the armors for half off. :).

Unless you buy your raw materials now this weekend thing does not make sense. Think about it... Yeah, they get fast XP, but now that the entire RS community knows about it, raw materials will double making the XP / GP the same... Meh. I've got several hundred M in herbs... Let the prices rise! Muahahahahaha! :P.

3 weeks for raw materials to sky rocket. They said they may be doing it again depending on how this one goes... More prices rising FTW? I personally spent 400 - 450M on herbs for the rise. ;). I see melee armors such as bandos and godswords dropping as people will sell them to skill on these weekend(s). One of the main reasons I like RuneScape was because it didn't have things like this. I hated WarRock where they had special events where you could get 2 - 3x the XP, more rewards... Just ruined it IMO. ANd yes, devalues XP drastically.

You're not prepared until you've made unfinished! I've just cleaned 8k toadflax and made 5k into unfinished and i'm losing the will to live. Doing slayer for an hour or so to keep my sanity. I just meant because they are going to go up in price. ;).
