    Ew, how do you stomach all that cream? :/ As for your lunch, you should have anything that you're hungry for. A pic to go with my post;

    Bleh, Americans are hating on authentic foodstuffs. Typical. Here's an image or two that may be tasty.

    Tell me, are you referring to the authentic stuff, or the American stuff? The American stuff is basically modification of Chinese food to be more palatable for Americans. Personally, I hate it. I've ate some of it before and just didn't like it. I'd be ashamed to call that Chinese Food More info on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_chinese_cuisine EDIT - A picture for my post This is real Chinese food. Not for Amateurs

    That's the baked version, that actually resembles bread, with savoury meat filling. What I posted was the steamed version, which was a soft bun. The ones that Not_Trolling posted are the legit traditional Chinese ones; those are the westernized ones. :P I like Szechuan cuisine, by the way. Bring on the spicy. :D It's weird, some people get mixed up with Westernised Chinese Foods and Authentic Chinese Foods. Not so sure about the kind of buns Pinkbullet posted, I've seen them in a few authentic vendors in London Chinatown. I just realised that fried rice is quite common in Authentic Chinese Cuisine, didn't know that. EDIT - I dislike Szechuan cuisine for one simple reason - Far too many spices. "From the Cantonese perspective, strong spices are added only to stale seafood to cover the rotting odour."

Here's some vegetables to go with the meal EDIT - Hmm, chicken wings with a 'Spicy salt' mix is pretty damn good too Lol, another edit - Found some baked lobster and cheese images. @Wongtong; It's a flatfish, the big ones are the ones with loads of meat. Actually, that sounds a little wrong on a food thread :x. It's known for it's delicate flavour though. Best served steamed, with a light touch of soy and some sliced spring onions.
  10. Granted. You jump out a window, and you fly for only a mere 3 seconds. 8 lives left. I wish for an omnipotent being to create a stone he cannot lift.

    Meaty Goodness Great on rice noodles EDIT - Congee is nice too, apparently Oh, and for the Western people This is real fish and chips. Not the average stuff Last but not least Another edit I'll just leave this here

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiaozi Dumplings covers the steamed version, the grilled/fried version, and the soup version. And the colour of the vinegar isn't really that important, we're all referring to rice vinegar here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_vinegar#Chinese Oh, and because China is so big, there are different Cuisines in different parts of China. There are more soup based dumplings than just Wonton. Incase people don't know what Cha Siu Bao is, it's basically steamy, savoury, barbecue pork buns. Here's a pic of it;

    Wongtong, have you ever had Turbot?

    The texture of the dumpling is compromised by the thickness of the 'skin'. Thinner = Better. Yeah, I know. Those aren't my dumplings. Mine were delicious. And grilled ones are delicious too.. but my parents made soupy ones which were equally as delicious. I LOVE RED VINEGAR. MY FAVOURITE. I could drink that [cabbage]..maybe. I had red vinegar with them last night. ^_^ Wait wait, are you asian or something? Edit: Crepes + icecream go very well together. This picture reminds me. I went to some dim sum place a while ago and took some pictures but couldn't be [bleep]ed posting them. But here's one of them. I really like these things: Random image that looked good to me goes here: And Siobhana, that looks nommy. :D Good work. I'm going overseas tomorrow (Hong Kong) and I'll take some photos of food and whatnot and post the weird/awesome stuff. [/hide] Of course I'm Asian. I've had the thing you've posted before, but the texture didn't really appeal to me. I prefer char-siu sou's instead. Chinese food appreciation thread gogogogogo. I have some char siu bow in my house right now. The pastry is so soft and the inside is so delicious. D: I wonder if my father being a Dim Sum chef has an influence on my food desires. Probably. >.> I miss this kind of food :( [hide=Probably large images] [/hide]

    The texture of the dumpling is compromised by the thickness of the 'skin'. Thinner = Better. Personally, I prefer them grilled with a little red vinegar as a condiment. [hide=Big Image][/hide] EDIT - Moar pics. [hide=Another big picture][/hide] SECOND EDIT - Would Crepes + Ice Cream go well together? I think I've seen it on Foodwishes, could be an idea. I think I've had banana fritters with ice cream, and that was pretty good >.>

    This is like food imagewars. I'm hungry now. Crap EDIT - @Kimberly; Nope, the bottle I used was completely new. The only thing about it was the food I used it on I guess. Typically I use it on rice noodles with a touch of soy, and you can taste the slight sourness in the broth. I'm pretty sure all chilli sauces are like that, but I dunno
  19. Assume Nothing replied to Skull's topic in Off-Topic
    Hotsauce? Pfaugh your hotsauce. Too bad that hot sauce isn't actually all that hot. It's slightly sour for some reason too >.> (I know 'cause I've tried it)

    I am guessing google images. It's random urls most of the time. I think I'd post something I'd cooked up, but I haven't made anything special for ages. Should I stick with a diet of tinned food and noodles, or start eating a more traditional Chinese diet? Not the takeaway crap Americans get, I mean Cantonese cuisine. This stuff; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantonese_cuisine
  21. What's godly about altering things? :unsure: Using Turmoil to train. *Ahem* Altering, not altaring What the hell did you think it meant? Simple mix up with homophones happens all the time. It's quite obvious he meant altar, not alter.
  22. Wait, why do you live so far away? Can't you live on campus/closer? British College = Highschool. And dorms aren't cheap... Oh okay, whenever I see 'college' on the internet I just assume they mean 'university'. Is that college the closest one to wherever you live? Yup. Just got a really inefficient bus service.

  24. Free Periods. On one of my college days, I've got a 4 hour gap between two of my lessons. And I live nearly an hour away from College. -.-
