  1. Hmm. A couple of problems there. First, there are none for sale on the G.E. I have offers in for all three different sets. Second, I don't use cannons and wish that they were not even in the game. Third, why should I have to stand around and wait for someone to maybe show up to get into a dungeon area? That is just ridiculous. Fourth, what is burstinglobs cc?
  2. Hello. how is one sipposed to get a full set of any of the armor types required to complete the hard tasks in the diary? Key word there is ONE. Also it says in the bestiary that the level 88 dags drop spined gloves and boots and lists them in the chaos tunnels as well as waterbirth dungeon. However under the spined boots and gloves in the items database it only says dropped by dags in the waterbirth dungeon? So again how can a single player obtain these items for themselves? I even stooped so low as to try and buy them on the G.E., but there aren't any for sale. Or is this whole Diary and new quest just another bunch of BS from Jagex trying to force interaction.
  3. Jagex needs a confidence boost after all the bugs this year, so the new skill will be... Butt-kissing.
  4. I read it as it is stated. The quest guides need to be written in an exact wording. Even if interpreted the way you took it then one would simply go to the death alter through the ruins talk to Thorgel then teleport to Lletya to fiish the quest. By doing so they would then have left the mirror rotated to where they could get into the ruins thus making it so they could not get back to it again without coming in the back way. So they should add to go back to the ruins and rotate the mirror again before returning to Lletya.
  5. Hello. In the guide for the 'Within the light' quest it says under the Finishing sub category it says "Return to the Death Altar through the portal in the room with the light beams and talk with Thorgel, who'll tell you that Arianwyn has returned to Lletya. Teleport there, and give Arianwyn the report to finish the quest!" When I went through the portal, it returned me to the ruins in the light temple not to the death altar. Personally I just teleported to Edgeville and went to the death altar through the Abyss to talk to Thorgel. Then teleported to Lletya to finish the quest. If you go back to the death altar from the ruins, will you be able to return to the ruins to once again rotate the mirror needed to enter the ruins? Someone may want to sort that out and add to or change the guide. Also it would be a great help if in the guide you added which pillar to rotate the mirror on to get into the ruins. I did the quests there over 2 and 1/2 years ago and had to reread the Mourning's End II guide again to find it.
  6. Could you add, under tips and tricks on the new "Forgiveness of a chaos dwarf" quest guide, the locations of both the new mining area and the chaos dwarf battlefields?
  7. Here is a screen shot of a speed test. I crossed out my ip address at the top. Yes, I know the upload speed sucks.
  8. Hello. Well the new ping feature on the world select page is working now, at least it does for me. With what it shows however, it would seem that Jagex always saying to try the world closest to you is not necessarily the best thing to do. I am posting screen shots of all the members world ping readings. The time shown on the bottom right corner of the screenshots is Eastern Stardard Time U.S. At the time these were taken it is pretty much the slowest time (and the best time) to play Runescape. Slowest referring to amount of people playing. I live in Michigan in the U.S. and as you can see, the Michigan world is about halfway down the list going from lowest ping to highest. For those not familiar with what a ping is, it is a measure of the time it takes for a signal to go from one computer/server to another. The lower the time the better. Click the image for full size pic.
  9. I have spent many thousands of hours playing runescape. I have a total level of 2283 and have over 280mil xp. I am willing to give all that up and start over for a version that players have to do their own work and to get away from the kinds of players that I replied to in succession above this post.
  10. Runescape is a MMOG see explaination a few posts above. Multi-player simply means that more than one person is playing the game at one time. It has nothing to do with those players interacting or not. You would not actually need to even be able to see others playing the game for it still to be classified as multi-player. Ex: If there were a time when there was only 1 person on every world on runescape it would not suddenly become a single player game. Because those players could still talk to, which is interaction, each other, but by the same token they would not have to talk to each other. If I cared about the graphics that much I would not have started playing runescape in the first place. I can play it in high detail mode now, but I do not. Area sounds are just annoying. They serve no purpose what-so-ever. If emotes were not needed for a quest or two I would be all for getting rid of them as well.
  11. Yes you can do a lot of what I posted in the current version, that is true. But the current version sucks. It is way too easy. It also gives too much of an unfair advantage to teams and clans. This is a version for the single player that wants to look at the high scores and see how they are honestly doing against others that actually earn their levels as well. Instead of doing their own work and losing places every day because thousands of people just buy their levels. They buy their levels because making money in the game is too easy especially for those in a clan or that team up with others. Jagex wastes their own time on ignorant garbage like the in game music, or the constant pointless and usually moronic changing of the interface. Personally I don't really care if they come out with this version or not. I am just pointing out that it is what I would like to play. This crap that they have now is ridiculous. I used to play for over 70 hours a week. The last two weeks I have played for a total of about 15 hours and that just because I really didn't have anything else to do. I actually wish that I had not just recently payed for 3 more months. Imo, that is just sad. What the hell are you doing with your life if all you do is play Runescape? Hopefully this 'small' 15 hour week has shown you that there is more to life than Runescape. Runescape is a game, not a life goal to get all 99's. Wastes time on music? Well I am soooooo very sorry that some people might actually like it... BTW, I am still struggling to see the crap? I am betting you that if this was a forced game change, over 4/5 of the community would quit. Really runescape is a game, wow what clued you in on that? I could care less what you think of the time I spend playing runescape. I would much rather be online playing video games than in a bar playing moronic, pathetic, pea-brained head games. Did you say that same thing to a player like Zezima who is retired and played all day? Do you know anything about my situation or me? All music is crap. I did not suggest that this be a change to the current version. I suggested that this be available as a separate version for those that would want it. And by your own estimate that would be more people than what are involved in PvP and Jagex doesn't seem to worry about forcing people to switch home worlds to accomodate the PvPers. The PvPers don't seem to mind doing it either.
  12. How is being social a part of a MMOG? Runescape is not a MMORPG, because if it were you would always have to be playing a Role. In a true MMORPG you would not have the option to play all the categories, you would have to choose your role at the beginning of the game and be limited to it. Not to mention that all your chat would have to be in character. The solo part is simply doing your own work. The chat is still there, you just wouldn't be able to team up to try and gain an advantage. Nor would you be able to run your levels up easily by playing some mini-game. No if it were up to me then I would have a choice of being able to do something by myself or with others if I chose to do so. The team stuff does not have that option. Ex: Sure I could try and spy on penguins to get the free points by myself, but that really is not feasible for most of them due to the fact that the clues are not specific enough for it. It is completely skewed towards giving those that team up an advantage. Ex2: I can not fish Manta Rays or Sea Turtles unless I team up with others, there is not even a choice.
  13. Because a 1 player version would be too easy for people to use bots. The aspect of having players being able to see each other is very much needed for reporting and helping to ged rid of the bots.
  14. Why do idiots constantly talk about realism in a game that has magic and monsters in it? I never said I wanted all sounds removed, I referred to removing the music and the area sounds. The mining sounds fall under the effects category. See if you click on the little crossed tolls icon in the main interface and click the option that looks like a speaker a box will pop-up with three categories in it. Music, area sounds and sound effects not in that order necessarily but they are there. You guess wrong.
  15. Yes you can do a lot of what I posted in the current version, that is true. But the current version sucks. It is way too easy. It also gives too much of an unfair advantage to teams and clans. 16. And I agree with this, I think the only people that MIGHT even consider playing are the front page of hiscores  You don't seem to get it. The main point of having this version is to get away from the people that want a social center instead of a game. So that those that do just want to play the game can without the constant chatter or interference from others.
  17. The current version of runescape would still exist for those not interested in the version that I suggest. Not meant to replace the game, just set up a version for those that like to do their own work.
  18. What are you supposed to do with the money then? Anyway i dont think this is gonna happen, What you are talking about is making a whole new runescape... -.- The money would be used for construction, summoning, buying a tool that you can not make yet, buying vials, even buying armor that you may not be able to make just yet from the NPC shops, etc.
  19. A Runescape that I would like to see. What it would be: A separate version for those that want to do their own work and earn their levels. Use the old Runescape web page with links back and forth to this version. Old page meaning the one that was there before this current one. A game client for this version with a refresh option added to it. Separate forums and high scores pages. Add a stat tracker to the high scores that displays the top 500 gainers in total and each of the individual skill categories. Players would be given the option to move their character to this version, however all scores will be wiped out and reset to level 1. All items will be lost as well. You start over at the tutorial. Membership days could be transferred to the new version account. Probably not able to have free worlds on this version as they simply are not big enough for this type of play. Rules: Same as they are now with the following exceptions: 1. You get one and only one account. Proof required that there would be more than one player for more than one account in the same household that uses the same computer or same IP. Which means no multiple log-ins from the same computer. So no playing from public computers like schools, libraries, etc. No playing on your friends computer if they have an account. You will be required to register with a valid e-mail address. You will need to respond to an e-mail to verify that the account is valid. 2. No hot keys allowed. 3. No clans. In game changes: 1. No trading between players at all. No exceptions. Remove the G.E. Items can either be alched or sold to NPC shops. All prices in the NPC shops are set and do not change regardless of how many items that are sold to them. Anything sold to a NPC shop is removed from the game and not available for another player to purchase. Dropped items appear only to the player that dropped them for a short time and then are removed from the game. 2. Add options to supply kingdoms with goods/items in exchange for gp. Kingdoms present list of what they want, player makes it and sells to them. Ex: Kingdom asks for 100 full sets of iron armor. 3. All team based mini-games would be removed from the game. Put extra resources in the areas that the mini-games take up. Trees, mines, etc. Change the TzHaar fight pits to a competition between a player and the various TzHaar warriors based on combat levels. No teaming up, they fight each other as well. 4. Add more resources for gathering, seaweed, swamp toads, snape grass, ets. Either new spots or more in the current spots. 5. Remove item lending and assisting. 6. Up the level requirements for wearing armors and wielding weapons. Level 1 Bronze Level 10 Iron Level 25 Steel Level 30 Black Level 40 Mithril Level 55 Adamantite Level 70 Rune Level 85 Dragon/Barrows Similar raises for range armor and weapons and mage robes. Prostelyte and other various armors added in where they would fit with the new requirements. 7. Pickaxes and woodcutting axes/hatchets would be considered tools and not be allowed to be used for combat. That way they could still be wielded with the required mining or woodcutting levels. Just add a special Vine Axe for the Jade Vine quest and mini-game. 8. NPCs would need to be made to complete Shield of Arrav and Heroes Quests with. Shades of Mort'ton quest reworked to where the temple does not degrade while building it, but you still have to fight off a few shades. You only need to repair it over time to use it. If neglected for 3 months you would have to rebuild it entirely. 9. No multi-player-combat. The only multi-combat allowed wil be a player and their familiar against their opponent/opponents. 2 players can not attack the same NPC/monster, but multiple monsters may attack the same player. So the Corporeal Beast will need to have a way, not an easy way, to beat it. The Big Dagannoths would need to be accessible for one player as well. Perhaps fight them in succession. 10. Double, or at least add a couple of hundred spots to the bank space. This is very important for doing all your own work. 11. Remove the Diversions and Distractions meteors and evil trees. As well as the spy on penguin mini-game. If not remove them then at least rework them so they are not an easy way to get levels. 12. The only PvP will be in scheduled tournaments within the Duel Arena. There would need to be a minimum requirement for participants, but no maximum. All prizes for the winners will be set randomly. Ex: Prize for a low level tournament might be a steel platebody for the winner. Something that might be useful for that level range or at least be useful soon for that level range . The tourneys should have a 5 level range set to them. There would be a list on the entrance of the duel arena with that days tournaments listed. Updated at midnight Jagex time. The list would have the tournament levels and prizes and would vary from world to world. If a tournamnet has a lot of people in it then use a timer similar to the familiar timer to notify the person that their fight is coming up soon. They have one minute to click the I am ready message or they forfeit the fight. 13. Increase the amount of revenants in the wilderness. Make it rough, not too rough, but rougher than it is now. 14. Split mining into 2 categories, Ore mining and Ess mining. Leave the ore mining xp as it is. Change ess mining to something along the lines of the way granite mines. Meaning when you mine ess you get it in chunks of various sizes. Then you use a chisel on it to craft the actual ess used in runecrafting. Various size chunks yeilding various amounts of runecraftable ess. You would get a small amount of runecrafting xp per runecraftable ess made. Maybe 1 point. The higher your ess mining level is the more chance that you will get the bigger chunks. Put the old mining movement and accompanying sounds back. 15. Rework the Smithing scoring. 1.5 to 2 times the current experience. This will be needed to make your own armor. 16. Rework Construction. Make it so the player actually builds the room addition after buying the permit to do so. Add a room for pets, a Kennel or zoo? Add a masonry sub-category which requiers levels and training from the dwarves. It would add marble and granite as resources for construction instead of just buying them. Make mortar, etc. Up the xp per item made and the resource amounts to make it. Ex: It would take 20 cut limestone bricks and 5 buckets of mortar, with a trowel in your inventory, to make a fireplace, but the xp would go up accordingly as well. It would take many loads to build the walls and roof of a room, but the xp would be worth it. Any changes of the appearance of the outside of the house would require building a facade, or removing the old facing and replacing. You could also add a way to make red bricks, they were around in medieval times. 17. Either no blessing gravestones or just remove them entirely. If remove them then the player that died loses all but the 3 most expensive items, unless the appropriate prayer to protect one more is used. The lost items would not appear to anyone else and would disappear for that player in 2 minutes. If leaving them then 2 minutes or the gravestones and the items disappear from the game. Use the built in protection for combat. If a disconnect occurs the timer on the items/gravestones stops after 1 minute has elapsed. Or it would not start until the player logs back in if the disconnect occurred in battle and the player died. 18. Add an option to the tools menu in the interface to set whether or not you want the automatic or manual game play. Ex: You may want to check automatic for herblore and the game will do what it does now. You may also want to check manual for fletching when you are making arrows then check automatic when making bows. 19. Interface changes. Combine friends and ignore lists into one tab. Combine the quests and achievement diaries into one tab. Put the summoning tab back. Remove the notepad entirely. 20. Remove the in game music and area sounds entirely. If someone wants to listen to music while playing then they can supply their own. Both of those are a waste of bandwidth.
  20. All they would have to do to stop it would be to set prices. No fluctuation what-so-ever. Ends all price manipulations. If not selling at the G.E. the set price is the maximum allowed for the trade.
  21. Um... yes they do? Did we not learn anything from the old BH? RWTers would die with trimmed God Armor in f2p in order to transfer GPs. I don't see where any of your reasoning is in that statement. Maybe it's that you've never PvP'd, but that's no excuse. All it would be is an extra 5 minute step. Then we have RWTing all over again. My first sentence was take the inventory out of the equation. I will simplify that statement. In other words it won't matter if they have 100Mil in their inventory as the player that kills the other will only receive as much gp as what the player that died was wearing, armor+weapon. The player that dies gets repawned wherever the respawn is at with no armor, no weapon and an empty inventory. So there is no way to transfer gold pieces as you can not wear them. And if someone buys expensive armor to die in then they had to use gp to buy it. I suppose that could be exploited by RWTers using the gp they usually sell outside the game to buy expensive armor and let someone kill them to get the value of the armor. The RWTers would also need an account that could wear the expensive armor level wise. Not sure about god armor requirements. That exploit might be combatted by instead gp in the value of the armor the player that 'wins'/kills the other could get the armor and weapon put into their inventory. That will require repeated banking though as it would fill up the winner's inventory. It shouldn't be to hard to tell if an account repeatedly dies wearing expensive armor. Also the armor should be limited to members only armor only used on members worlds. Jagex stated that f2p should be a stand alone game, so they should not be able to get members only equipment. As for the post below the one I quoted. This method does not just put more gp into the game. It removes the armor and weapon that has the exact value of the gp. It also removes whatever the player that dies had in their inventory without putting the gp it was valued at back into the game. If you are worried that the price af the armor and weapons would ge up do to the removal of some from the game, then jagex should set armor and weapon prices, or all prices would be fine with me, and not allow fluctuation. This is not an economic simulation game.
  22. Why not just take the inventory out of the equation? You kill some one, you get exactly the value of what they are WEARING in gold pieces. Armor + weapon. RWTs don't buy expensive armor to do their dirty dealing in. Take the g.e. price at the beginning of the day. Or take the high alch set price. High alch price would drop how much you make off PvPing, but it would also make it pretty much just the 'real' PvPers left. I don't even PvP, never have probably never will. EDIT: You would have to add some feature that wouldn't allow players to remove their armor or weapon just before they die. Those that die lose everything that they are wearing at death. No protect items prayers.
  23. In the agility skill guide you have it listed as 725.7 points for a lap of the Barbarian high level course. That is incorrect. It should be 740.5 per lap.
  24. Nice. Jagex says that they want f2p to be its own stand alone game, so they should separate the high scores lists. I am p2p now, but I played f2p for 6 months before I joined. Of course back then f2p was busier than p2p and it really sucked with all the bots. Anyways good luck with your site and hope some day Jagex takes the time to separate the lists.
  25. The anti-hack bribe article: This is an excerpt form the wikipedia page on Two-factor authentication. I believe it pretty well describes what the device in question is. There is even a picture of one such device there. "Some manufacturers also offer a One Time Password (OTP) token. These have an LCD screen which displays a pseudo-random number consisting of 6 or more alphanumeric characters (sometimes numbers, sometimes combinations of letters and numbers, depending upon vendor and model). This pseudo-random number changes at pre-determined intervals, usually every 60 seconds, but they can also change at other time intervals or after a user event, such as the user pushing a button on the token. Tokens that change after a pre-determined time are called time-based, and tokens that require a user event are referred to as sequence-based (since the interval value is the current sequence number of the user events, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). When this pseudo-random number is combined with a PIN or password, the resulting passcode is considered two factors of authentication (something you know with the PIN/password, and something you have from the OTP token). There are also hybrid-tokens that provide a combination of the capabilities of smartcards, USB tokens, and OTP tokens." Here is the link to the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-factor_authentication Actually a pretty informative page as it also goes into drawbacks of these types of systems. Usb devices are grounds for dismissal, yet you also say you have to sneak to play the game? Is playing the game grounds for dismissal as well? Sounds like you shouldn't be playing it at work period. As for the comments on the PvP worlds being full, that was not always the case. I have the world select screen set-up to go by fewest people on a world. When Jagex first came out with the bounty worlds there were always 3 or 4 worlds with the fewest people and those were always some sort of PvP world. The only reason that they are full now is because of all the 26K scammers. I do agree that the bank space is a bribe and should not be offered.
