Your ignorance is not forgiven. Learn basic genetics first. Think about it this way: breasts are a default part of the human body, like arms and legs. It's just that women's get bigger and glands to produce milk. No need to be rude, I was merely asking.
  2. If we are to cut to the chase and reach the bottom line, I think the mere fact that you think the minority shouldn't 'dictate' the majority is flawed for serveral reasons: 1) The fact that the majority thinks something is wrong/right, doesn't make it that way. It only means that that's what the majority thinks. Just to clear things up, I'm not saying the majority is automaticly wrong for thinking something different than the minority, only that the fact that more than 50% (or even 99.999999%) of place X's (X being any place, of any size, even the whole world) population believes somethines to be true, doesn't make it that way. 2) The majority COULD not know of/understand a concept. If to take the gay marriage example, many religious people find it as something of bad nature, basicly even unnatural, some even go as far as naming it "abomination". Religious people are, as you probably already know, not the only to think such things, which is exactly why many oppose gay marriage. In reality, one's sexual orientation, as once again you probably already know, cannot be chosen, and thus- gay men and women shouldn't be suffering, only because the majoirty doesn't understand that. If to take the raping example (never thought I'd say/type that...), then on that specific hypothetical situation (in which the society doesn't see it as a bad thing), they probably wouldn't understand what psychological problems, or at extreme cases mental problems such activities could cause. 3) The majority wouldn't 'suffer' as much as you imply. And IF they would, I'm sure they'll get used to it. After all, they're not marrying to people of the same sex, and so it shouldn't be of their power to decide for those who wish to. To each his own, I always say. 4) Do you know what the concept behind the freedom of speech is? Basicly (although in reality it's not all rainbows and butterflies, but that's what it's >supposed< to be like), the freedom of speech tries to eliminate the tyranny of the majoirty, and encourage pluralism, as to avoid said tyranny. It does so by allowing the minority to speak up, and perhaps even affect the majority by doing so. One of the fears the media "should be having" in a democratic and plural society is- missing on an opinion present amongst the people, even if only by a very tiny segment of the people. Infact, the media should be doing it's best at presenting all of the opinions prevailing amongst the people, in a democratic society that is. 5) Lastly, it's a matter of 'level of effect'. Surely, if we are to take the raping example again, if four very horny guys were to rape one woman, (correct me if I'm wrong) by your approach, they're not doing something wrong because the minority is taking one for the majority, as not to be selfish. Well, the 'level of effect' it has on said 4 man is a few minutes of... lets call it 'fun'. As opposed to them, the minority in this case not only suffered for X4~ time as much as the majority, but also kept on with it. I'm sure you understand, after that bizzare example I gave (felt very weird to type that) that you should not feel selfish for 'forcing' such legalizations on the majority. After all, there's noting wrong with the consummation and institution of lovers of any gender's love. Sorry for my bad English ;).
  3. 8/10 for the quotes :D.

Happend to come across a good cover for it though?
  5. What if 'the many' are wrong? Let's take that to the extreme, if a society (either one country's society, or the whole world's) would decide raping 12 year old girls is okay, because there are more guys than there are 12 year old girls, would you be okay with it? If your answer is 'no', then your argument of few dictating the many falls down the drain, as it happens so that 'the many' are worng, while the few aren't, and if that's the case, 'the many' should change their ways. If, however, for some reason, your answer is 'yes', then you have some serious issues and should see a psychiatrist ASAP.
  6. Well, I thought that might be what was going on. But I was really giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn't base a monster difficulty comparison even in part on an item worth more than the entire banks of 99.9% of RS players.... Indeed, I ment those shields are the only way he couldnt have been hit the full hits. Or, he could have gotten his Hp past 99 with either Rocks or Brews, and thus when hit, did not end up with 1 HP. Faily simple. It could also be a combination of both by the way.

We're likely to end up discussing racism if we go in that direction. Perhaps even find someone here posting some racist comments.

Sorry for my ignorance but... Isn't sex determined by the chromosomes of male sperm? If so, since when sperm has nipples? I'm getting all confused here :S...

Lately I fell inlove with an amazing, and old my I add, song. Most of you probably know it - 'Hero' (by Enrique Englesias). The problem is though, I think Enrique's performance for this song is terrible, but can't find another version. I'd love it if anyong here could help me find a good version of the song, NOT by Enrique. Both YouTube finds and downloadables are good. I'd rather have a downloadable link though ;). Thanks in advance, Romy.
  11. Oh go [bleep] yourself, seriously. Priceless XD.
  12. Really? Knocks your HP down to 1 you say? I went through the entire fight without ever dropping below 30 HP. Nomad has two things going for him, his decent HP, and his high DPS. The first makes the fight drag on a little bit, but not too terribly. More importantly, it helps his DPS in running you out of supplies. Finally, he has a small chance of being able to kill you. However, good defensive gear basically nullifies his chance of killing you. He cues you to his powerful attacks pretty clearly, even offering first-timers a hint on how to survive ("You can't hide from this!" or "How much can you take!?") He gives you time to read, comprehend, and react. Just by paying attention to this, his ability to actually just kill you outright is nullified entirely. His next advantage is DPS draining your supplies. Well, guess what? As my own experiences, and the video I posted earlier prove, having high end defensive options significantly mitigates this. Go look at the pictures thread, where fairly low level players have been able to beat Nomad. In other words, as significant a hurdle this is, it can be beaten. Once it is, the Nomad is a pushover entirely. In comparison, there is absolutely no way to counteract the Avatar's toughness. This is why I feel he's a huge challenge. Even with the top-end offensive gear, he will cause you severe annoyance. I measure the difficulty of boss battles in three ways: risk, cost, and annoyance. There was no risk in either battle thanks to the convenient gravestone outside (plus the fact neither boss actually got close to killing me). The cost of the prayer potions for the Avatar was greater than the Rocktails and potions I used against the Nomad, Avatar wins here. Nomad wasn't annoying at all, he was fairly easy, while Avatar was absolutely, undeniably annoying simply since he dragged on the fight so long. If a boss costs me more to kill in both resources and time, I generally consider it more difficult. [/hide] I have to disagreet. How is annoyance a measure for how hard a boss is? I find imps annoying, as they teleport all around with 1 HP just as I'm about to kill them, does that make them hard? Not even the slightest. You'd be surprised to know how annoying Giants are, crowded 99% of the time, bah. Oh, and you wouldn't even want to hear about those pesky 'PvP' safers! So annoying! But none of these are hard. Annoyance is simply not a measure for how hard an opponent is. In addition, you are one of few in terms of cost. Most spent a lot more fighting Nomad than they did when they fought the Avatar. Lastly- time. That's the more contreversial of the 3, but those who got to the roots fast enough actualy made Nomad's fast last longer, even if beaten on their first try. Okay then, so I guess we define "difficulty" differently, and that's perfectly acceptable... Actualy it isn't, considering you're generalising off that measure, just like Danqazmlp said.

  14. That's flaming, in my book. Storm seems to find it impossible that someone could perceive difficulty differently, and automatically accuses people who think the boss to be easy of simply being all these negative things. And when I try to correct him, of course, I get a dozen people jumping down my throat about how difficult he was. As far as difficulty goes, I'm basing them purely off limits. You are limited to only so much offensive power, an arbitrary line which I'm already at. I have Godswords, I have Zamorakian Spears, I have Extreme Potions, I have maxed stats. It wasn't enough for me to speed up the fight. Likewise, you are limited to only so much defensive power. There's Divines and Elysians, Soul Split, Extreme Prayer Potions, Rocktails, Brews, Restores, Onyx Bolts (e), Pack Yaks, Karils and Armadyl and plenty of other ways to keep yourself alive. I wasn't anywhere near my limit, and the Nomad's great advantage was pretty much eliminated, making it an easy fight. In other words, if I'm 99% of the way to the best offensive position and I still can't really overcome the difficulty of the Avatar of Decay fight, and I'm not even halfway to the best defensive position possible and the Nomad's challenge is nullified, I believe the Avatar is harder. I think you're taking things too personaly, I doubt anyone here is trying to offend you. Anyway, have you ever considered bad luck at the Avatar and good luck against Nomad? I mean, I know of many who have beaten the Avatar butt naked Oo, and won, on their first try. I'm not implying your skills as a combatant are bad, as to avoid confusion, I'm simply saying you could have had bad luck against the Avatar. You also could have had great luck against Nomad - Considering everything you said on your prior post is true, you MUST have had luck. Not because you won, but because of the results. The HP and food you had left, the method you used, the fact that you claim to have not needed a familiar and that you had quite many lefovers imply that you did. Many maxed combat accounts that readily prepared themselves beforehand, memorised Nomad's every attack, having a Yak filled with Brews&Restores/Rockfish, best equipment the game could offer and used Curses still have died, some even multiple times. You could say they were unlucky, but considering their number vs. yours (1), it's more possible that you just were (very) lucky.
  15. Well, for starters, this is purely speculation. The designer who indicated there would be NO nerf was not exactly Andrew Gower. It's very possible he spoke out of turn and didn't have final decision on the matter. As we all know, once a statement by anyone with a gold crown hits the press, it is cemented into the annals of PrintScreen history. Again, there's also the chance I just crapped out a horseshoe and it's my imagination that he's way slower. It could also be that (I'm purely speculating here) they wanted to crush all flames at once. Those who have beaten him, and thought he was hard/had too many tries would flame Jagex quite a bit for nerfing AFTER they beat him. Those who still are flaming and have not beaten him yet, would try again and 'somehow' win. They'd think it's out of luck, most of those who beat him before the nerf wouldn't even know about it. Case closed.

  18. How about Zamorak and his Mahjarrat followers? Sure he became a god, but he is a Mahjarrat. Maybe Zamoreugal is powerful enough that some of the average/weaker Mahjarrat cling to him for safety. In Zamoreugal's notes, he implied that many Mahjarrat seek alliances with other Mahjarrat in order to protect them from the Ritual. The ones that tend to not have any allies usually are the ones that are sacrificed. It's beginning to sound like a reality show... ROFL....
  19. I thought that was very interesting. To tell you the truth, that was actualy quite obvious, I just didn't think it would be so soon. Quests' requirements are increased a little every month or so- obviously at some point the exp needed in different skills would exceed that of skillcapes. And then there's challenge, after Nomad we should be expecting (atleast IMO) harder bosses, and thus should be developing both our combat stats (which contribues to the exp needed for quests), and our strategies, to better suit the title of the cape. These 2 are all it takes to realize that at some point the Quest Cape will become the hardest challenge the game has to offer.
