  1. Local fire breathing mega fauna? Now time to get photoshop working again and find a decent map. EDIT: Anyone want to suggest a setting?
  2. On a note about that how many people would be interested in playing a fantasy hegemony with the (optional) twist of magic thrown in (using Icu's idea for mages in battle and my idea for power/rituals) If so what setting would you want? The usual dark ages setting with a magepunk twist? A new world entirely with different species? Possibly something kind of like shadowrun?
  3. Question due to boredom: Does anyone have any idea of how to get magic to work in a hegemony esque game? You could have the mages power be inversely proportional to the amount of mages and the number of mages in the population be inversely proportional towards the total population and proportional towards the time spent training them with some sort of ceiling on how powerful they could become. Hell you could make really big (ie combat viable) bits of magic require research and then mass human sacrifice to get some effect out of them.

Tekrer kicks the wounded leg of the first enemy and swings his ax across to decapitate the second one. As he does so he moves onto the third (and most bloody) verse of the litany.

Erm retech you know you could just get a sword or mace or something that works in close quarters (shouldn't be that hard if this goes through I may have a couple of daggers to lend out to PCs). EDIT: As this is mildly relevant towards this thread, this is how actual sword fighting tended to work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TzdtyMC7ek

(Is my crossbow loaded?) Tekrer carefully listens for anyone coming up behind him and shoots one of the punks with his crossbow (if loaded) before moving in for the kill with his ax. If his crossbow is not loaded he comes down low and attempts to hamstring one of the enemies while punching the other one in an incapacitating place and then finishing that punk as well. When he attacks he roars a litany towards the dwarven gods.
  7. I AM THREAD NECROMANCER! HERE ME ROAR! In an attempt to revive this topic; what would be the best route to take in the event of a zombie attack as shown in the guide by Max Brooks? At least for me I would try to get across the Mountain range in california and to the great plains before LA got shot to hell and set up a defensible location. At the very least it would make it alot harder to get besieged by numbers that could not be reasonably handled and I could spot any raiders from quite a while away.
  8. Nah it's fine my question was answered by the wiki (and a couple of googled guides)

Mather I think you should just go with one of the usual fiends that will be slaughtered most likely by retech and myself that will totally not be targeted by the towns that they are around due to their actions.

Tekrer looks around for a message board where merc job offers are posted and if he does not find one curses and moves into the main part of the city looking for taverns/notice boards (how much money does he have?)
  11. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
(What races are found in there? I presume it is primarily dwarven?) Tekrer moves out of the city glaring at all non dwarves in his usual mildly threatening way and looks for employment in the local taverns and meeting halls.

Any chance I could get an idea of where this creature is currently?
  13. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
    Starting soon?
  14. Dwarf fortress is mildly irritating (at least for me in that I can't seem to figure out how to get the damned things to actually do anything other than idle).
  15. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
I was giving ross a couple of suggestions as to where he should start :P So is everyone ready to go?
  16. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
Orphanage possibly :P Pet shop? Hospital? Halfway house? Back alleys of a large city where corruption reigns supreme?
  17. Retech being able to talk with others more conveniently (this includes texting) does not really hinder your ability to do this as long as you can multi task.
  18. That reminds me retech: Is sevastapol being included?
  19. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
Chain mail and leather should be fine by me (along with a buckler?) For the Gods!...And the Loot!... But not necessarily in that order!
  20. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
So my dwarf is a merc rune priest (warrior priest of the dwarven gods) Does he get any armor?
  21. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
Well what is the difference between them aside from where they show up and what armor they get? Your idea for the runes works rather well. If I had to choose I would probably put my dwarf as a merc though.
  22. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
Nex if you don't want to do the ancestral runeish bit you can easily just change the dwarf into a regular fighter with a crossbow (also could you give him some armor as well?)
  23. Any chance I could join as Istanbul?
  24. Grim_ replied to Nexaduro's topic in Falador Tavern
Name: Tekrer Propmail Race: Dwarf Weapons: Ancestral battle ax, crossbow, 30 quarrels, carving hammer and chisel. Profession: Rune priest (magic user that uses ancient sigils to provide buffs, etc in combat, also is proficent in melee combat as well) Desc: Tekrer the dwarf is a member of the loose propmail clan of dwarfs. While it is technically a clan bound by blood it seems to be more like a meeting hall or an adventurers guild than an ancestral home. In any rate Tekrer is a furiously religious dwarf believing in the old dwarfish gods as well as the ever present ancestral spirits, he is also heavily xenophobic against any non dwarf and has an especial hatred towards non simian races. On a note about dwarfs: While they are not magic users in the traditional sense they do have clerical power and their own old runes and sigils for various magical effects as well as their ability of darkvision.
  25. Feel free to join any of the active (or soon to be active) games. Also I would advise setting up a Pm with the GM (Game Master) to ask questions about the games. On a note about the hegemony games, charging in guns glazing tends to get you killed, fast.
