  1. Except any risk which is greater than 75k does not significantly increase your reward. Last I cared to check d scims were 100kish and whips were 1.4mish, right? I seriously doubt that using a whip will get you 14 times as many kills as you would get while using a scimitar, so the risk does not scale in a linear fashion with the reward...Risk >= Reward would be a bit more accurate, I believe. You have a very good point. But wouldn't you agree that a person using an AGS would have a better KO potential than somebody using a whip? Claws and the AGS are some of the most powerful items the game has seen yet. People would wear maybe 200k or so, and then have a 30/80M weapon that they protected. These items can KO in 2 specs, that kind of power should come at a high, high price. It shouldn't be something to walk around with and KO anyone at no cost or risk.
  2. Because, there is always that slight chance that you will die, weather it be from lag, or some epic combo with dark bow or ags. And yes, complaining does get you somewhere, complaining could make jagex give us protect item back, theres always that slight chance (however rare from a company like jagex) that they will listen to there customers. Who cares if they can use the prayer to have no risk, they earned the 60 mill for the AGS, they should be able to use it in PVP with protect item. Well, you take that slight chance that you might die as soon as you log into a PvP world. The driving factor for PvP worlds has been "danger of losing minimal items if you use your prayers", now it's full out "bring what you will die with". Risk = Rewards, I would think this update made any REAL PKer happy. And let's be honest, clicking the spec bar twice takes no skill, that's not real PKing. As for the complaining, it's annoying, and the reason I hate the RSOF. Jagex doesn't make a big habit out of caring for their customers.
  3. If I were one heck of a PKer, sure! Why not? If I can get an edge on my opponent and 2 hit KO them for added risk and know that my trusty phoenix necklace would protect me, why not? If a phoenix necklace works, why not use it? We can't change our circumstances, but we can adapt to them. Complaining gets us no where. The playing field is now level, people can't rely on a silly prayer to go out and wellfare with an AGS. The power to potentially KO in 2 clicks should be available, but only with the risk that comes with it.
  4. Ughh look, muggiwhplar is right about everything, but when I look at Est0rrath's sig I can see this thread spiraling into infinity. Est0rrath is obviously going to pissed off about any-freaking-thing Jagex puts out regarding PvP unless he himself, in all His Majesty designs us our flawless PvP system. I've watched you post through numerous 26k threads and it seems like all you ever say is "no this wont work, jagex fails" "that's stupid, it can be manipulated this way" "look at me, im a hotshot pker who has been playing since the day rs was made and i still hate this damn game" /implied sarcasm on that last one You come across as an ignorant, bitter person who for some reason unknown to me, decides they can speak for the whole PKing community when you post. You offer no constructive criticism what so ever, but I guess your signature speaks for your personality pretty well. I don't mean to be a [bleep] to you but COME ON, be part of the solution and let's hear YOUR IDEAS if you hate every damn thing anyone tries to tell you or Jagex updates so much.
  5. Is the profit from 75king worth it anymore? people have been saying its 200k less profit for the time spent, but getting your ep is even harder beacuse of the constant fear of getting piled in multi zone Sweet
  6. That would just make people more likely to rush/PJ Or, even worse, just kill their friends with 2147M in their bag That's true. I think this is the biggest step in the right direction that they've taken with PvP. A level playing field is epic win :
  7. I think that now, more than ever you should be rewarded with how much you risk. But like I've said, claws and AGS are some of the most powerful weapons in PvP, they can kill people with two clicks of the special attack bar. If you want to use that kind of sheer power, you need to risk it. Now would be a very good time for them to implement a system that rewards how much you are risking to what you get in a kill.
  8. [hide=] [/hide] I feel like you were half wrong, and half right in your post. The only reason we see the AGS and claws crashing today is because today Jagex made PvP worlds entirely what they intended: risk; and people can't deal with risking their weapons and armor. When we log into PvP worlds there's a message that says (generally speaking): Warning, this is a dangerous world, be prepared to die and lose your items. I think the problem we're facing today is that we have built standards of a "good" PvP system by reading that warning in this way: Warning, PvP is generally dangerous if you don't activate your "protect item" prayer when you go into combat, and you need to protect melee when you teleport into a hotzone, but otherwise, you might lose some minor things. Watch out for the claws mainly. Now that you have to risk items when PKing (and god forbid you don't have a safety net and only risk some items to reap your rewards), people are upset and selling their weapons. The playing field is level, everyone is risking everything, and I LOVE that. I think Jagex hit this spot on, PvP worlds are meant to be dangerous places, and now they are.
  9. Alright thanks guys, I think I'm gonna hold off on the brawlers. There was a topic about making a "brawler" clan or something haha so I might look into that : Anybody got tips for the smithing 71-80 using addy?
  10. This also stopped people from going into level 1 wild and alching to build EP or whatever they did. So what if we can't protect items? It's a world designed to be dangerous. If you wanna PK with an AGS, you better be willing to risk it. TBH this update is long overdue. PvP worlds are designed to be dangerous places, not some place that's only dangerous if you forget to click your little prayer before you go into combat.
  11. I disagree. If you're referring the people who people who relied on lucky AGS and claw specs to KO as "true PKers", then you are sadly mistaken. If anything, this benefits the true hardcore PKers. I would think that above anyone they would be less inclined to die, and would be happy that their targets are now risking everything.
  12. For the amazing XP they give, it's only fitting there would be some risk to them. It sucks though, I have about 6 pairs I've been procrastinating to use :wall: Oh well, easy come easy go
  13. BGS is in all honesty the training pants of godswords, it deserves to be less than 10M
  14. Thanks! Sorry I'm still learning my way around these forums, I usually only post in General Discussion. As for the update, I'm really kicking myself for not using them sooner :wall: oh well, maybe I'll wait a week and see if they update it.
  15. Hello, I have just a few questions Smithing: 1. What is the best way to use smithing brawlers with addy bars? (I am level 70 smithing) 2. Assuming I got 71 smithing off my brawlers, what's the best way to 80 smithing while still using addy bars (and staying away from SC tools). Best places to use the following brawlers: -Firemaking (71 Firemaking atm) -Woodcutting (81 woodcutting) -Ranging (90 range) -Fishing (76 fishing) Any and all help is very appreciated, thank you! :D
  16. wahh its dropping that much that you will lose 70mill wow thats insane bro yeeeahhhh so ags will be 11.5m? id think so,,, People were (not sure about right this second) selling for 100% junk or saying "selling AGS 101 gp". It's just initial panic, in 2 months everything will be fine.
  17. Sorry to hear about your AGS. In all honesty though, I'm happy about the update. No more 1 itemers or kids in 50k worth of gear and an AGS waiting to pile you as soon as you get a kill. I hope you can get your AGS sold. I'm betting this is a temporary fix though, until they can find a way to fix the 76k trick permanently.
  18. Bon Jovi song was pretty clever. I LOL'd Now what we need to do is post it in the RSOF threads :twss:
  19. Yeah, god forbid you might have to risk your items in a PvP world :ohnoes:
  20. It combats the people who used to alch to gain EP and such. It has a negative effect for people using brawlers and what not, but the key factor to a PvP world is risk I guess it stops people from doing "hey can I give you 26k and kill you" too. I don't think it will stop friends from killing eachother, but it certainly raises the stakes.
  21. [hide=] [/hide] You are SO lucky
  22. This is what people wanted, was it not? I believe it was even you yourself SirHemen who said "I believe weapons are to powerful now and 1-2 hitting someone has taken away from the PvP gameplay" Now people got what they wanted. If someone wants to risk using claws/GS, they are going to RISK them. PvP will no longer be full of weapons that 1-2 hit your opponent. It will now be about tactics and skill. Like Muggi said: It will all be welfare gear, which is the way PVP SHOULD be. Larger reward for cheap equipment used. And if someone wants to use an expensive item, all the power to them, but its finally a RISK. IDC if it fixes 26k or not. This FIXES the overpowered weapons issue in PvP. Exactly, if people want to rush with claws they better be prepared to risk them. I think this has potential to eliminate PKing of any kind from PvP worlds and turn them into 100% 26king worlds though.
  23. Maybe it's just Jagex's way of bringing their "judgment" upon PvP. PvP worlds probably really pissed them off with all the 26king that blatantly manipulates their system, so they decide to piss us off
  24. People who sit and alch to build EP may have to change up their plans now. That could have been one of their intentions.
  25. I'd be willing to bet this is temporary until they find a way to really kick 26king in the balls
