I suppose this might put a stop to the AGS rising :?

15th July 2009 - PvP Changes
I don't particularly see how this stops 26king, I see it more as a blow to 1 itemers/rushers. Either way it's a

Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
So for resource collectors like rune miners, the only downside is the initial login, correct? If you have to wait 30 seconds to hop worlds after logging out, that's plenty of time to enter the key. Sounds like win to me

Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
This article was started way before andrew made that post. I did try to update it, but left that line in by oversight. If it's a little device that shows a unique login every 6-8 seconds and does not need to be plugged in to your machine in any way, that's great, but I know lots of people will never be able to type in a new unseen password in 8 seconds. Imagine having to look at your password everytime you switch a server...That would be a real pain in the [wagon]. Isn't there ~30 seconds of wait time in between server switches? That's more than enough time to type in your password/8 digit code IMO.

BE ADVISED
Very sad indeed. As a CSR Manager - Mat K would of been wrote up and possibly fired (cs goons are easy to replace), and the customer would of got a free year of service if we would of screwed up that bad on someones account. Very sad, I think I will show this thread to my boss who is constantly on my back about better CS. LOL Haha I'd love to hear what your boss has to say :D On a more serious note, the customer service does need to be taken seriously. If they're going to take the time to post that they're sorry he lost the cash due to their lack of QA, they should compensate him.

Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
Once the 26k trick is fixed I have a feeling that the fix will include some sort of money drain, whatever that may be. Just a thought, but I have a (hopeful) feeling they are doing more to stop it than just making it hard to 26k trick.

11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
True! If it came coupled with getting your items back due to a glitch I would purchase the extra security for sure. Maybe a security package deal with some sort of way to contact them and get proper help regarding glitches

11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
Yeah and a lot of hacking is done by people you know who have something against you. Sometimes Jagex does reverse the banning or mute though if they have proof you didn't have control of your account at the time. But if they don't have proof, then you're screwed. And at that point, the security key might not be sounding so terrible to have used in retrospect ;)

The hacker could get you banned or muted though. Whatever they do when they log into your account is completely out of your hands :-#

Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
I think the anti-hack article was a good read, but made the key sound too negative. Sure it could be small and easy to lose, but so are car keys. Your car keys could certainly be lost/stolen, but because they're important to us we keep them safe. The same would apply for any player who cared enough to buy a security key I would imagine

11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
Jagex has no customer service, I'd pay money if I could get the items I've worked hard for back and that have taken a long time to get, it's better than being told, no sorry we don't give back items lost to glitches. I think it's inappropriate that they can consider advanced anti-hacking technology while avoiding and ignoring the players who lose items due to Jagex's own glitch. To me the two should go hand in hand. What will happen the next time someone pays $10+ for this security device but ends up losing items due to a Jagex bug? I bet they won't stop complaining. I agree with you there. If they're so concerned with customer satisfaction and keeping our accounts safe from other players, why aren't they concerned about our safety and satisfaction regarding bugs and problems that are our of our hands?

11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
Any sort of bug replacement system would be nice, although charging money for retrieval could very well be an excuse for them to keep making sub par content. I would gladly pay $5 if I lost a substantial amount of money to a glitch though. Maybe apply the blackmark system to bug investigation. False reports of item loss = ban, and any items returned by Jagex can't be talked about or they take them back.

Poor treasure trail rewards.
Well I just did a trail and got a rune kite (g) and some other stuff, so maybe there's a little hope for trails after all :P

Andrew seems pretty bummed about the responses :(

11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
Reading Andrew's posts from other pages, it sounds like he is pretty discouraged about it. Sounds like they're losing money if they go through with it, just to protect our accounts. I hope they go through with it :?

This has to set a new record for "most RSOF threads owned in a single post" Good job clearing that up  Other page posts by Andrew [hide=] [/hide]

I can't remember the names, but has there been any added dialog to the HAM guy and that other lady with higher ranks?

10th July 2009 - The Jagex Anti-Hijack System and DevBlog
I wasn't saying either of those, I couldn't care less about sailing or the old wilderness. I'm talking about bugs. Boss monsters weren't fighting back during one update, and Mobilising Armies caused players to lose huge amounts of cash. I'm just feeling cautious about anything new they put out now :? On the note of the device itself, it sounds awesome. I'm definitely buying one whether it comes with bank space or not (just after a week or so after release :P ). Never being hacked again is a  in my book any day.

Poor treasure trail rewards.
^^ That's rough man I'm sorry. I'd like to see some new clues and rewards, and I really liked Jettrider's suggestion. The only downside would be hellhounds dropping almost nothing, but I can live with that :

Lol I did, but it seems like everything they try to do erupts in chaos these days

10th July 2009 - The Jagex Anti-Hijack System and DevBlog
I would probably wait a bit to buy one. Knowing Jagex and the bugs that come with their updates, this thing would probably erase your whole account or something

Poor treasure trail rewards.
I had always had good luck with "aged" clues as well but it would take a substantial amount of testing to know for sure
-
BE ADVISED
Exactly, but the condition should be that if word gets out about that specific item being returned, the item will be taken away. This would prevent false requests but allow the right thing to be done
-
Poor treasure trail rewards.
I've noticed trails being pretty lame sometimes, but I get good luck other times. I enjoy doing level 3's no matter what though. I don't think it would be a stretch to say that they made them take more steps to complete though.
