  1. I suppose technically, you are right. You'll only get the nymph while mining so just staying in one spot will maximize the process. But, you spend very little time running to the next blockage, compared to the amount of time you spend mining. If you choose to mine on the themed world, than you won't even have to find the blockage yourself, you just have to simply follow the crowd. It might also make the time there go faster by following the crowd. It breaks up the mahogany of just mining in one spot for hours. Not to mention, it can give you a chance to be social with the other people there too. You'll get the mining suit either way, I'm sure. But I think you'll find a better experience following the crowd (you'll hear stories of people with far worse luck than you with the suit, took me over four hours for my second item) and might as well boost your experience a bit while doing it.
  2. Every time I'm without my comp cape and I go to recomp, I always have something that takes a stupid amount of time to finish and ends up in me wasting a day >.> Today it happened again rofl. The Dungeoneering task of using a portion to open a skill door that you don't have the required level for took me like 3 hours >.< But none the less, finally recomped today by finishing all the dungoneering tasks, making a mask of tuska, and getting the ubers barrows song. A special thanks to two people in EE that I dragged in for the song XD. Along with that, this I've also finally finished off 50M farming for my 15th 50m! Also got 60M Rc earlier last week. Also got a pair of these while getting the mask XD My plans now are to start slaying a bit here and there. I've had urges to for awhile so figured might actually train a skill I enjoy. I'll also be doing a bit of hunter and runecrafting, depending on my mood XD.
  3. Much needed three day weekend due to snow and ice :D though I know I'm going to pay for it later this month. It nearly guarantees I'll work a Sunday this month, making for a 12-13 day straight work schedule. Meh it was worth it all the same. Finally remaxed with 99 divination yesterday: Now I'm jumping between dungeoneering, hunter, and runecrafting. My primary goals currently are 50M hunter and 200M dungeoneering. I'll jump between the two most likely, while also slowly doing the dungeoneering tasks for my comp cape back (not in that huge of a hurry since I only really need it for slayer). I mix in some runecrafting when I feel like afk or multitasking as well. No plans for a hardcore 200M runecrafting goal yet, though I'll edge closer to it in time. Only other thoughts are heading towards Stealing Creations for some fishing bonus experience. It would make fly fishing more appealing to me, with the boosted experience per hour. It could possibly become my afk task in the future if I can get some bonus experience saved up. Will likely look into it sometime this week. Also updated my front page a tad, here is how my stats have changed since I started this blog so long ago XD
  4. Lol XD honestly I thought the same too, besides the fact I had to beg to have my desk and computer back >.> Finally 98 Divination too! + The angry aussie's motivation I might have tomorrow off due to icy weather, if I do their will be much nolifing. If not then I will be mildly sad
  5. SO... I got my work schedule for December. At the moment I have 42 hours of mandatory overtime scheduled. Which means I'm working every Saturday in December and working 10 hour shifts the week of and after Christmas ... This hurts my no lifing :( Guess on the bright-side I passed 11M divinating experience. Currently getting about 250k divination experience a day. Along with that I've also been doing my daily tree runs again, I actually full out bought all the sends to finish off 50M farming so I'm less likely to put it off for even longer XD. With me being gone so much currently, my wife has taken over my desk XD. Here is what I walked into this evening when I got home. ;) She has like surrounded herself with her 2 computes and my 2 computers rofl
  6. My nolife is strong XD Actually managed to get 97 divination today. Besides that, I took a look at my large pile of loyalty points I had and decided to spend some on the Wisdom aura. Maybe not the outright best skilling aura, but I don't have much else to spend the near 200k pile on. Figured I'd use it along side my festival aura. Hoping to march towards 99 divination in the coming week and have it within 2 weeks. Pretty much while working my scaping life is going to be primarily dailies, which I've been meaning to get back into.
  7. Slower progress due to spending 2 days with family. But finally got 96 divination. Plan to get halfway to 97 or so before I head back to work Monday. I also finished up all the newer quests. Only thing left for recomp is dungeoneering tasks and 99 div.
  8. Oddish makes a fair point. I'm a fair lurker myself, that occasionally goes on active posting streaks. It is a tad tired-some reading similar rants from specific individuals on every thread. Personally I'm looking forward to the world event as I'm a lore fan. I'm curious how they will have a god die, lore wise. Until now, we've only seen 2 gods die and both of them were killed with elder artifacts (the sword and staff). So I'm curious if the next world event will be fought over an elder artifact and the loser gets stabbed with it. Currently though, that sounds unlikely. Instead Jagex is taking the new approach that with enough divination energy a god could kill another god. Sorta opens up a new lore string of how gods can be dethroned. I'm halfway waiting for the battle to go similar to Lumbridge's and once the god lays defeated on the ground like Zamorak, Sliske teleports in and stabs them XD. (Gotta admit you could see it happen, it would give him a point in the comp too, Sliske seems to be the manifestation of plot twists) Along with that I'm hopeful the primer club will be worthwhile this year around as I'm interested in actually paying out for it this time around. Kinda regret I didn't last year as I would of liked the 1 extra spin each day and the cosmetic items.
  9. Ohai Sooooo... I complained that the day after divination was released I started my new job. Pretty much been living at this place the past 3 months :s. Averaging 60 hour weeks. I'm enjoying the work as a chemist, but I miss my scaping :(. I usually get about 3-4 hours of divination in a day at my current pace. Which will hopefully get my 99 divination within ... sometime. Getting four days off for thanksgiving so will hopefully have a few gains to post, for the first time in a long time XD.
  10. In some fairness that has already happened XD they had two other big hot fixes so far today with Div, which made it so only 1 person could get a chronicle and made it so you couldn't 2 tick gather memories. Regardless if people agree with these fixes or not, they still decreased experience rates by ~30% (now cannot gather memories faster than 3 ticks per and takes quite a bit longer to get 10 chronicles that add a fair amount of experience too). While these fixes were done before anyone broke the 50 level barrier, they still separated the gap between those that had been consistently 2 tick gathering already, opposed to those that weren't and seems Jagex has leveled the playing field where the only way to get more experience is to put in more time. Their are very few ways to increase your experience per hour, other than buying energy, which can come at a cost of 200gp per exp or much, much higher, which isn't very practical unless you get energy donations. Not my intent to say this in any derogatory fashion, but I've heard of people donating energy to Suomi to help him power through his levels and that is how he's leveled so quickly even though he didn't start right at release. I have not seen this myself though so I wouldn't take it as 100% fact, but a possibility.
  11. Sadly the experience rates have been dropped a bit at the level 60 place, enriched memories were near 1/3 or 1/4 when the first few of us trickled in. Now they are very rare, 1/50 or worse it seems and this is what everyone here has been experiencing. Seems Jagex is still fine tuning. Gunnar reported 40,235 exp/hour himself, without using any energy during that test when he first arrived. I'd say rates are down to about ~35k now, but this is without using energy or Chronicles so cannot say how much they will increase the experience.
  12. Epic RIP Got a call today, my new job wanted me to start tomorrow at 10am o.O told them to wait until Wednesday... I have plans for Tuesday. But sadly looks like any nolifing of the new skill won't happen now. Not to mention they want me to work 48 weeks too o.O atleast it will bring in the irl gp. I do wonder if I'll be able to afk ivy at this job XD, worth finding out.
  13. Here is that promised RC robe pic XD: Spending today mainly runecrafting, ready for div!! Plan is to aim for 99 right away. If I like the skill I may continue onwards to 50M and if I really enjoy it maybe 200M. But one step at a time. I won't be in the race for first to 99 by any means, I cannot do 20 hour days (wife aggro) but I should be able to put in pretty steady 10 hour days for the first week before I begin working next week :D
  14. Wonder if hikikomori is available as an RSN XD and impressive rune armor and drop tab, I'm jealous, will have to get mine there one day.
  15. Grats! Hunter is still my lowest skill >.> 50M all skills first, then 200M hunter pl0x
  16. Been quite awhile since I updated and its been partly because I've been lazy and partly because I'm not had a definite focus. I managed 20 hours of torture at GOP for my full Master Runecrafting Robes, which was just horrible, but glad I have it. It looks amazing and after 200M RC I'll likely keepsake it. I was considering 200M RC as a major goal currently, but with the new skill on the horizon I didn't want to start completely on a new 200M just yet. A few days I got the urge to mine at LRC (I dunno why) but I've actually been enjoying superheating and dropping the bars there and I'll likely be headed towards 50M mining and smithing now (until the new skill and depending on how I like it I may get 50M/200M in it first or just 99 then head back to mining/smithing). Updated my first post, here is a look at my experience gains since starting this thread (with 8 months of no playing during that time too): I'll get a pic of the master rc sometime, at lrc atm so didn't want to bank to get the pic XD
  17. Hardly, it grew up until 2007 then dropped after the free trade removal. Got on a steady line then declined due to Jagex new dirrection of the game. They've been focusing on bringing new players in so much. They ripped up places such as tavelry which is now a maze and probably would frighten new players as theres too much going on. They've had to rework tutorials way to many times. And in the line of this way of thinking they neglected current players to a point most were not happy with how they had been treated. They dont realise theres much more leaving than coming into them game. They need to patch up the leaving while slowly working on the increase right now. The leaving is the bigger number see. It needs to slow down, for the incoming players to catch up. Completely missing the joke  His actual point was that in some way or another their has been concerned Runescape might be dieing since it was released. Very much agreed, along with what Sy_Accursed all throughout the first page. Runescape is Jagex's cash cow and it is going great currently. Income is high and with rs3 I'm inclined to believe they are actually drawing new people into the game (will have to wait 6 months and look back to be sure, since things often seem distorted when you're in the moment). Even though I strongly dislike the SOF or more importantly the ability to expensively buy experience from it, Jagex has successfully made Runescape more profitable with it by following current industry trends. Jagex's major stain on their record is the fact they have never been able to launch another flagship game beside Runescape. Some have flopped around awhile with hopes they'd survive but it has never turned out. I loved funorb and I still don't understand why Jagex killed it, but to my knowledge it was the most successful game that Jagex developed and launched beside Runescape (I think the one they just published did okay, something like WOL(?) cannot remember and don't know that much about it). You might have an argument that as a gaming studio Jagex is dieing. They are becoming a one hit wonder and as to date, even the money coming in from Runescape hasn't done anything to change that. I'm not even sure if they are trying to change it anymore as I'm sure they got burned, bad, with the other failed games financially. Runescape will live on, but Jagex as a studio that publishes games may not (and instead just becomes a company with one product they do well and not a studio at all). Guess it does raise the question... Is that a bad thing?
  18. Not really. Those companies (Gamerica/UOL and Axeso5) have the licencing rights to RS in their respective languages. It's not an advertising deal. So basically you wouldn't ordinarily see Jmods on those worlds because they don't speak spanish. So these guys take over doing the Jmods events? That's how I read it, yes. The CM team for English RS are all Jagex employees and are located at Jagex HQ, so they all get JMods accounts. Since the people running the foreign language servers are not technically Jagex employees (so far as I'm aware), they don't deserve, or maybe that they can't be trusted with, JMods accounts. I remember a few localization CM mods a few years back, so I'm going to guess they are phasing out multiple language CM mods and just letting the partners handle CM there? Edit: Sorry for double post :(
  19. So as I best understand it... Lmods are staff accounts for the partners that own the rights to RS in respective foreign language servers. They have pmod/fmod powers but no jmod powers. Interesting
  20. Oh for the days  In the cases of Farming, Construction, Hunter and Summoning, each BTS was listed chronologically. We could just hope that this is the same :P Yeah but none of those were announced beforehand and thus were a total surprise. Currently we know for months that there is a new skill and the name of it is known for months too. So if they ever were to input it like those skills, by a cryptic reference, everyone would instantly know it as the new skill.. I call BS... People knew a long long time that construction and farming were coming. Myself and many others knew about the hex editing to find all of the construction buildings. Also farming has a nifty teaser to let players thieve farmers before it came out. The other two you may well be right about. Okay to a very small minority it might have been know and even then it was just guess work whether or not it was a new skill... Ehh... (story time) Construction: For the most part was left unannounced and as a surprise. It was mentioned in the bts for the month at the time as a small hint quoted above. Now some people said that sounded like a new skill, but I cannot say there was a general community sense that it was a skill. There had be a large community support for carpentry as a skill so this fell in line really well with it. After the skill came out I learned some people had found some furniture imagines in the cache(?) cannot completely remember, so to some people they had an idea but cannot say at all that the community did as a whole. Farming: Pickpocketing seeds from master farmers and killing regular farmers for rakes, watering cans, and other small farming items were released ahead of the skill in hopes of giving people some seeds and supplies to kick the skill off with. But the skill was delayed from its original date (as far as I can remember) so it ended up with people having huge stocks of seeds. Think I had like 10k-15k potato seeds when it finally came out. To my knowledge they said it was coming in the months bts it did come out, but I don't totally remember. Hunter: Now this skill was hyped quite a bit, including some hints towards its mechanics (most people were thinking it would be a ton like slayer) and its release week was also announced before hand. But the community sorta shot themselves in the foot here when the skill wasn't released exactly when they wanted. Its a tad foggy but I believe people were wanting it released on the Monday of the week, but it happened to be the Tuesday (or it could of been it was delayed a week, I cannot completely remember). Anyway, because of not getting the skill exactly when they wanted, their was actually riots around Seer's Village (fairly large too, enough that Mod Howes came and lurked for a bit) and even like a 1k post there petitioning for the skill to be released that minute on the RSB. Summoning: Learning from the communities reaction from hunter, Jagex backed off a tad on the specific details of when the skill was exactly coming out. They did do four large developer blogs (as bts had been removed by this point) which gave concept art for the skill (I remember the hydra concept looking awesome) and in each blog 1/4 of the summoning icon image was on the coffee cup on the blog's picture. The skill mechanics were not fully hinted at before the update though and I personally had hoped for more of a companion system where you summon a pet then have it attack along with you for the summoning experience and have the pet grow in levels itself (going from a small fuzzy thing, into a powerful companion etc). Now I'll admit I don't remember slayer's release buildup at all, I cannot recall even if there was one. It was largely before I was completely reading news updates so someone a bit older than me will have to fill that in. But, each of these skills had some build up in their own right and for nearly everyone we atleast had the name of the skilling coming and some design concept. Construction was kept the most hidden, but was not a shock when it came out, it just wasn't hyped quite as much. Hunter was super overly hyped, to the point the community was largely worked up and as the RSB community typically is, was largely disappointed when everything wasn't exactly as they wanted. This skill walks right along the lines of farming. We know it is coming, we have some knowledge of it, but we don't totally know what to expect.
  21. I know this discussion is near the edge of being offtopic and maybe best to let it die here, but I think their is a fair amount of merit in atleast pondering how someone finances and manages their time while on the hunt for 200Ms or 200M all (their is a distinction between the two). Personally I consider myself someone who hunts for 200Ms and really has no aspirations for 200M all. I'm not in the league as Alkan, Gunnar, or any of the top contenders even though I have some exp. Jebrim made a stance a few posts back that 200Ms have value based on the route someone takes to get them and I also agree. But I have respect specifically for the people that take a balanced approach to skilling such as those in college or in the work force. These people have to manage their time as it is limited in some extent, now this could mean they still have 6-8 hours a day to play, but that could be closer to 12-15 without the college or work responsibilities. So it makes sense to me that these people will aim for the fast, effective, efficient, etc (pick your adjective) because it makes the most of their time. Zarfot's final post reflects that in some manner as he didn't also play super long hours (yes I know the last year or so he did pull some 10+ hour days, but as far as I saw he never did that for weeks on end). I specifically enjoy following the progress of the top 15, top 25, or top 50 that manage fair gains, but also do this while balancing real world responsibilities too. It is why I "support" "root "fan-boy" Gunnar, Alkan, and a hand full of the other top 100. Specifically because it relates to me as I just graduated with a bachelor's and I quit RS for the last 6 months of it to make time balancing more manageable. So I have some appreciation towards the college student players. Now I guess bringing this post around to the 200M topic, their are many, many factors for any individual in what makes an achievement "valuable." But how a top player mixes their RS career and IRL career has some value in that mix. Now typically when you start talking value in a 200M, the topic quickly disintegrate into a flame match specifically aimed at those that play RS full time. Along with that, judging everyone's achievement by everyone's, different definition of what an achievement is, will get us no where, again (I'm dyslexic and nothing close to a English major so I'm sure that is butchered grammatically). So with all that, it is something worth pondering and an added dimension for the goal of 200m all. Mod Edit: Decided to leave this here before I even opened up the spoiler tags due to its general discussion about the topic of time spent without targetting anyone for their choices. The effort to write it in that way is appreciated and I'm happy to leave it there. I have only a simple request: please let's not see this turn back into a Jerry Springer cover of the Runescape Top Players again, it's really not necessary.
  22. Didn't want to quote the whole large list so took a snip of the only one I somewhat disagree with. Personally I use the guest clan chat quite a bit. I even typically talk more in a guest clan chat then I do in my own clan's chat. But it is completely fair that not everyone does that and it goes along with the theme of your list: Let us have more customization. You should be able to close the chat menus that you don't use, specifically for me it would be the emotes. This would make good use of the hubs a tad more, where you could reopen the menus from the hubs if you ever need them again. A huge item, for me, I'd like to add to your list is more action bars. Runescape had made a stance they want to go the way of other MMOs with abilities and I'm perfectly fine with that. But lets catch up to them. Here is a screenshot of my current interface from Runescape and below is an interface from SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic), both of which I actively play. Now that screenshot from SWTOR is almost a year old now and is on a smaller resolution than Runescape (think Swtor one is 1280x720 and my Runescape one is 1600x900), but what I am specifically getting at is the amount of action bars. We don't have a need for quite that many here (yet) but I'd love to have 2-3 more action bars I could use if I choose (and close for those that don't want them). Personally I'd love to place another action bar on the top of my screen by the menu hub bar and it would contain my overload, prayer renewal, antifire, slayer ring (right click, check task), teleport, etc. I could make good use of it. Another example would be Dagannoth Kings where you are best suited to tribrid, I hate the arrows of different action bars now. I find them super easy to misclick and I don't care for the shift-X to get to another one.
  23. Recently been doing a more long term test of Frost Dragons as well (break from slayer), here is what I've observed so far: Ranging: ~300k exp/hour along with ~2.85M hour profit (along with corresponding hp exp and 30-35 crimsons an hour) Melee: ~325k exp/hour along with ~3M hour profit (along with corresponding hp exp and 35-40 crimsons an hour) Now this is picking up bones (which I'm still playing around with how to best do it, currently I'm doing laps around the north lake and picking up the bones from previous laps that way I don't waste time waiting for a dragon to die/running to it to get drops/etc but I'm sure their is large room for improvement). Now if you bonecrushed the bones I could see the experience rate jumping quite a bit as well (I see no reason why 400k exp/hour range/attack/strength isn't possible as picking up the bones can be a large time sink, especially if you aren't conscious to keep moving along). Along with that you'd be able to take on 4-5 hour trips (possibly longer) as with a demonhorn necklace you'd only have to bank for overloads/antifires. The obvious down side to frost dragons is the amount of mid-level people that will crash you. I'm being very stereotypical, but typically I noticed these are the people that won't hop either. They don't seem to notice or maybe care that their presence slows everyone's kills down and it only takes 2-3 world hops to find another empty world. Been a huge source of frustration for me, but I have seen some of the most interesting armor/weapon combinations there o.o. This can decrease experience rates some. While not the best source of combat experience after slayer for 200Ms, it is decent and if gp is a problem for buyables it might be a decent source of income (especially if combined with item flipping inbetween trips). As of 10-15 hours of testing I've not seen one effigy there either. Edit: fixed some dyslexic typos
  24. sir that is what the ignore list is for do you know how many people from Solace I had on my ignore list at any given time, or EoE I could have named about 20 people that I disliked from EE. And they were all active players too. I know I could have played with the clan chat off but that sort of defeats the purpose of being in that clan. In any case, the vent people were awesome and I can always go on there to chat with them, and I'm good friends with a lot of people in the current clan I am in. To be honest I intended on moving months ago but I stayed because I know leik would have had a little cry and beg me to come back. I had to let him down easy. Know your feeling very well, actually have about 5 or 6 on my ignore list atm and another 5 I just tolerate. Might have to try EE's vent sometime again (actually found it kinda empty 8 or 9 months ago) Now I have to ask, why are you the king of fail ;)?
