  1. Light duty is like putting on skates. You can't PT, or do limited PT by orders of the docs and you are limited in doing any real work depending on injury. I guess it depends on the command, but some might give you something else to do instead. Like answer this phone or do this admin work instead of your real job until you are off light duty.
  2. Yeah the crew chiefs are all pretty cool guys, I work close with them being an 0481. Basically enlisted amongst officers. Just be glad you aren't on an Army base or working with the Army....worst of the worst. As for working with other branches I rank them in this order - Air Force, Navy, Army. 6211 is like a placeholder almost right? Like basics, then you move to a specific aircraft?
  3. Congrats, late congrats. The wing eh? You got it easy down there in Florida! ;) ;)
  4. Yes, there will be a successor, but Osama, as a founding figure of Al-Queda, and the person who took direct responsibility for the attacks, was extremely important to his people. Think of it as the combined George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Gandhi all being killed. So long as he was alive, they would always have him to rally behind, and would never truly have the fight knocked out of them. I believe that killing Bin Laden won't end the war, but you can't end the war without killing Bin Laden. This. He was also a fighter in the war against the soviets, so he was held in high regards compared to his terrorist counterparts. No one can replace bin laden, everyone else are pawns compared to him. Will someone try? Of course, but it won't have the same effect. I'm sure the SEALS that raided the house cleared it very good for intel. He was living at the mansion with couriers of Al Queda, meaning he had to know locations of other top leaders to send messages to them since he didn't have internet or phones. This could only be the start of something bigger. For the record, I actually hope Obama DOESN'T get re-elected...but thats another issue.
  5. Not really. They're quite what I expected when one of the biggest terrorists the world has known has been taken down. The facts about this man are also a bit blurred. As with this report itself. Please, tell us how you know they are blurred if they are indeed blurred. Surely you wouldn't know the truth either in that case.
  6. Theres such excitment because not since Hitler has there ever been anyone in the world hated more by America. Its exciting, it shows us the cause that we went to war for in the first place come to the surface. It gives us hope and a good feeling in such gloomy times with the economy and revolts around the world. This is a HUGE victory for the US and allies. Like I said, one step closer to the ultimate goal. No one knows what will happen next, and the threat won't go away, but this is a MAJOR victory. Thats why we are excited. I can only hope pictures of his bullet ridden corpse surface on the internet because I would like to see. I hope he rots.
  7. Edit to above, he was in Pakistan, killed in a mansion with family members, maybe they took his son with him.
  8. Another person, but not necessarily an effective job like Osama. Cut off the head of the snake and the snake dies, might take a while but its stepping in the right direction.
  9. HELL YEAH. The body was recovered from Afghanistan, and he wasn't found dead....he was killed. REJOICE! GOTTA love it!
  10. No. The main argument is its a violation of our 2nd Amendment rights as Americans. Its written in the Constitution of the United States. A follow up argument to back up the second amendment rights is to be able to protect self and property.
  11. As a US service member, who has been over there, let me tell you all that the thought process may be the same, but the act carried out is a VERY VERY isolated thing. Don't throw us all under the bus because of a couple riders. I think its sick and disgusting what they did and inexcusable by them and their superiors for letting it happen.
  12. Gun control? Fine....i'll just use the 10" bayonet on my M1 instead.
  13. I'm currently in the military and honestly don't care. If that gay guy/girl can finish the training like anyone else and protect my back just as well as a straight person then I'll gladly have their back. If they are a capable person why shouldn't they be allowed, its their country too. I'm not gay, its not the lifestyle I would want to live....but I'm not going to oppress anyone else for living it. Like I said, if they are capable, then I'm capable of dealing with it and going about my job. The only problems I could see coming from it is in situations like in the barracks. Rooming together or showering together (yes it happens still in the military). I know not every gay person is out to try and turn you gay or something or try and make a move on you sexually, but the environment would yield a lot more false rape accusations or sexual harassment accusations. Just wouldn't be the best work or living environment with that going on. Not everyone has an open mind.
  14. I hope it dies down. I'm not ready for Chosin v2. Thats hell on earth.
  15. Lol, it makes me laugh how many people sit here and say I wouldn't shoot even if you had a gun in your hand and you are about to get shot. You must be out of your freaking mind. Kill or be killed, that simple there is no other option at that point. Whatever, keep your rock hard exterior, you'll need it to deflect those bullets coming at you. You are not badass for taking a bullet in that situation, sorry.
  16. Not even if you saw a man with a weapon approaching your loved-ones? Or better yet, you?
  17. Clemson had a big win Saturday, glad to see that we played very well. Auburn continues to gain strength and is starting to impress me, early on they kept getting lucky....now they are playing lights out football. The Heisman is Cam Newton's to lose. My new top 5: 1. Oregon 2. Auburn 3. Boise St 4. TCU 5. Michigan State However after this weekend, expect to see that number 5 spot go to Alabama because Michigan State could easily lose to Iowa and Missouri will lose to Nebraska.
  18. I would too. My top would look like: 1. Oregon 2. Oklahoma 3. Auburn 4. Boise St 5. TCU 6. Michigan State LSU is ranked way to high. And I think Auburn and Oklahoma could be flip flopped back and forth, can't decide which is the better team.
  19. 1. Sigh. Canada plays it (CFL), Mexico plays it (ONEFA), UK has leagues (BAFACL), Japan plays it (X-league), Germany (GFL), and Italy (IFL). What about the Central European Football League (CEFL) which includes Hungary, Serbia, Slovania, Austria, and Turkey? What about the European Federation of American Football which includes people like Norway, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and Russia? You're right, virtually no one else except the US plays it. 2. Do you even know the rules or the game? Clearly not. You use your feet for more then running.
  20. Clemson won easy over Maryland, though we still don't look as good as last year. Our offense sputters and goes 3 and out a lot. We have yet to find a threat at WR but have a few who can step up. Our RBs are good, so is our special teams. Our Defensive line is just plain NASTY, and fast! Secondary holds their own but we give up a lot of short yardage.
  21. Auburn just gets lucky. You should see ACC refs, the absolute worst I guarantee it. I can't believe Nebraska lost today to Texas. Stunner. Go Kentucky! Beat South Carolina!
  22. Yeah they hit them in the mouth and didn't let up. SC looks for real this year. Clemson choked again, we need a new coaching staff. Nebraska looked nasty too. I'd like to see a bowl game between South Carolina and Nebraska.
  23. Why does he have to be black? So we are racist now too? I've said it MANY times in this thread. KEEP IT HIDDEN OR LOCKED UP. If you have it sitting by the door old west style, sure you might of just signed your death warrant....otherwise there is no reason to expect to have it stolen while you are home. Keep it unloaded as well, it takes all of what, a few seconds to pop some shells into a gun? Do you have any numbers to support your "most guns on the streets are stolen guns" theory?
  24. Ah, so naive. Keeping a shotgun at home is stupid? Really? Thats the best weapon for home defense! And no handguns for civilians? Seriously? Why not? You don't have any good reason why you should limit that. There is no good reason. No automatic rifles, yes true....and thats why its already law.
