Quests are fun.
I like quests. They give uniqueness to this game. I guess most people don't really like quests, because most give pretty crappy rewards, and that most are too easy to do.

Are YOU a fanboy?
You mean Frog Forest or Lost Jungle? Yeah I remember those... the black frogs in Lost Jungle always ruin the good shortcuts. :( Anyway I think this thread is turning into a Sonic discussion, so I won't post anymore.

Are YOU a fanboy?
If you can't homing attack properly in Sonic Heroes, you might as well stop playing that game, because you suck. Hell, when you can't even do a simple attack like that properly, you should just stop playing Sonic games altogether, because you're just not suited for those type of games. Also, "sand that can consume unsuspecting hedgehogs" = quicksand. You don't know? A whole desert of the stuff? I only played that little segment but found it too [developmentally delayed]. And no, the homing attack was quite erratic, and everybody I know always dies because of it. Shadow the Hedgehog was where it could be seen quite clearly, but the other GC games, it was apparent. Yeah, a whole desert of quicksand is a bit too unreasonable. But homing attack is hard to miss in Sonic Heroes. Use speed formation, press the jump button twice, and you'll automatically home in on the enemy or item. ;)

1. Stubbornness is not a factor here. I am not stubborn for believing Sonic is dead, it is my own thought due to the excessive amount of crappy Sonic games out there. 2. Apparently you didn't read my whole rant. I said it was crap, but I pointed out why, but you were too busy being enraged that someone would would make fun of Sonic. 3. Same thing here, why make fun of someones opposite opinion? Have you ever joined a (somewhat) mature forum like this? We all talk about stuff and state why we dislike or like it, it's not like we can't...that's kind of the fun of talking over a forum is getting the opinions of others. 4. We should hate somewhere else? Lol, this is why I hate fanboys, because at the tiniest sign of oppresiveness, they take it to a higher degree then it should be, state about "Well that's your opinion" while simultaneously bashing my opinion, complaining because I bashed your opinion, and then act like a mad seven year old who didn't get M and M's at the candy store. 5. This wasn't a flame war until you turned it into one. You can't throw out the opinion thing because you are bashing my opinion, so quit [cabbage] and get over the fact that Sonic games are no good. It's a universal fact that the latest Sonic games have sucked. Even people I know who have enjoyed newer games will say that they are still full of problems. A game is not good if it's bugged, broken, or anything like that. Sonic games have consistently had these problems, had continuity problems, had problems with too many characters, had problems with the stupid things in each one. I would love to see Sonic return to his former status, I am a big fan of Sonic, but does that mean I am not allowed to say that I believe that a childhood favorite and one of my favorite characters of all time has been slowly dying due to the idiotic attempts by Sonic Team to resurrect him with some new perk? Me too, I would also want Sonic to be like the 2D type, and if they were to make 3D Sonic games, make something like Sonic Heroes that relates to the classics more. The idea of swords and guns just don't fit with Sonic characters well. And I know that you are allowed to have an opinion, except that I saw one of your posts which stated that a game was crap, without stating any reason. That's why I flamed, sorry. Also, I know that some of the Sonic games has problems, but it's not like they are without merit. In fact, no game is without merit, it's just that the bad games are constantly overshadowed by the better ones. Like, the Sonic games are overshadowed by the Mario games, as always. In fact, there aren't a whole lot of games that I consider bad. Sonic 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog are likely candidates, but, as I said, not a lot of games are bad, it's just that some are better than others, and some are MUCH better. Like the Sonic/Mario comparison. Also, now I just realized that you guys are only complaining about the IDEAS that Sonic Team put into the game, not the actual gameplay. My bad. :wall: If it's the ideas, then I most certainly agree with you, in fact that's why I haven't bought SU or SatBK yet (I might though, not too sure).

The GOP activity bar is a failure.
Hello, and welcome to my rant. This rant is about how the activity bar is an unnecessary feature in the minigame, the Great Orb Project. Let's start with how GOP was like without the activity bar. When players were playing GOP, there were people that played properly, and there were freeloaders and leechers in the game. We never liked the freeloaders/leechers at first, because most of them won't even participate after they found out they were losing. However, the game must go on, and our teams still continued to play, ignoring the freeloaders/leechers. After our match has ended, we ended up losing, only getting 60 tokens (it was a 6-0). We shook our hands with the opposing team, and went to our next match normally. There sometimes is the occasional newbie which can affect our gameplay, which can be a difference between a win and a loss, but this usually isn't a problem as people learn GOP at a relatively quick rate. I eventually enjoyed GOP, and became quite skilled at it. The occasional invisible barrier glitch can also be an annoyance, but that rarely happens anyway. Now, let me describe how GOP is like with the activity bar. When the activity bar was released, I thought "Yes! No more freeloaders! We can finally win again!", and it made me believe it made the game better. But, no, that certainly isn't the case. When I entered the Air Altar to play another match of GOP, guess what I ended up seeing. There were TONS of people hugging orbs, people were spamming barriers like mad, and everyone was at a loss of what to do. Unfortunately, as what I saw, the freeloaders still managed to survive the whole game, just by clicking barriers so that their activity bar fills up. Adding the activity bar made this game of strategy of teamwork into a mess of piling orbs and making barriers just to keep the activity bar up, so it doesn't kick them out of the game. I have seen many a good player been kicked out because the activity bar drained so fast, and the 10-minute penalty prevented this further. Many games didn't even make it past the Earth Altar, due to its enormous size and orbs are scattered about. At this point, now I realized the activity bar was a very unreliable update, and it ended up hurting rather than helping. So, here are my solutions for clearing up this whole mess: 1) Remove the activity bar altogether. This certainly was the most unnecessary update in the entire game, even more unnecessary than tradeable holiday items, even. This will make things back to normal, therefore there wouldn't be so many huggers. 2) Include a rating system for how much games you have won. Unlike the Fist of Guthix rating, this rating should help you separate yourself between the newbies and the veterans. The rating system should be based on how many orbs you have scored, how many games and altars you have won, and how many games you have finished (so you actually participated in the whole game). 3) Remove the 10-minute penalty rule. A lot of people had to quit because of the activity bar, and they have to wait another 10 minutes just to join another game. This also helps people who lag out frequently, so that people can join in the game again after they quit. 4) Make a new token system. Like the rating system, this should be based on how many orbs you scored, how many games and altars you have won, and how many games you have finished. 5) Include a tutorial. This is what the game really lacks, people can only learn from the game itself because of this. Although 50-50 clans have proven this to work, if there was a tutorial, it would be even better. And so, my conclusion is this: Please do something about this, Jagex. The activity bar made many veteran players complain, and now the game has become a game of "click-on-the-orb-to-survive". Fix the glitches like the mind glitch and the invisible barrier glitch first, and then talk about an activity bar.

The Tier List Thread.
Seeing that most games will have tier lists in them, why don't we make a topic about it? In this topic, you are free to discuss anything tier-list related, whether it's making a tier list, or commenting on someone else's tiers. By the way, please do not say anything about "tiers are for queers", or "tires don exits", or anything like that. It's disrespectful for those that like to look at and/or use tier lists, and any fads like these are not allowed. EDIT: Since we can still post tier lists here, I shall post my Helper to Hero tier list for Kirby Super Star Ultra. Broken Tier Bonkers (Hammer) Top Tier Rocky (Stone) TAC (Copy) Bio Spark (Ninja) Capsule J2 (Jet) High Tier Burning Leo (Fire) Plasma Wisp (Plasma) Bugzzy (Suplex) Waddle Doo (Beam) Knuckle Joe (Fighter) Middle Tier Sword Knight (Meta Knight Sword) Blade Knight (Sword) Gim (Yo-Yo) Simirror (Mirror) Wheelie (Wheel) Low Tier Birdon (Wing) Chilly (Ice) Poppy Bro Jr (Bomb) Parasol Waddle Dee (Parasol) Bottom Tier Sir Kibble (Cutter) If you want another idea of one (made by another user in GameFAQS), check this topic.

Smash Club.
I was comparing all of Lucas' and Ness' attacks. Plus, THROUGH MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (I've completed boss battle multiple times) MK is by far the easiest. He has the most control (he's always in the air), does good damage, and can airdodge whenever he feels unsafe. The problem with Fox is he's way too much of a fastfaller, you have to know the bosses inside and out to stop attacking and play defensive, which you guessed it, is hard. This is because Fox has no defensive options while he's attacking, while MK does. Seriously, use MK, spam nairs and airdodges. Plus, he has the best recovery which can save your [wagon] if you mess up. Ah. Then Lucas wins. And MK is pretty easy, but I dont know about easiest... COUGH marth IMO anybody with a reflector/absorber/counter/oil panic is the easiest. If a character doesn't have those traits, it's harder for them because they cannot counter projectiles in any way. Speedy characters, characters with multiple jumps, and projectile-carrying characters are also generally easy, but it's not that easy for them still. It's even harder for the big and slow guys because even though they hit hard, they are way too slow. Also, any character which has to rely on other things to attack (Olimar and Ice Climbers) are definitely the hardest, because for Olimar he has to make sure that his pikmin survive, and for Ice Climbers, if one dies it becomes twice as hard. It's just my personal experience, so don't flame my opinions on Olimar/Ice Climbers. :-#

Are YOU a fanboy?
You're wrong. Personal opinion is only a small factor to this all. There are such thing as terrible games, and there are such thing as terrible series. If it hurts your feelings too bad, it's the truth. And that is all there is to it. Okay fine, you win. You are entitled to your own "fact". But seriously, you gotta admit, haters suck. If you ever seen the GameFAQS Sonic and the Black Knight board, you would know what I mean.

The Best F2P Combat Guide (all levels)
Agreed w/ weapons. However, for magic, not a lot of people have 50 RC, and the Safety Gloves is the only best magic gloves until you can get the RC gloves. Also, you still haven't mentioned anything about the Rune Kiteshield and Rune Berserker on that list. All it says is "same as armor".

Price manipulation: right or wrong?
I know there are no rules that say it's wrong, and I know price manipulating is morally wrong too. But RL doesn't relate to RS, right? However, if too many people start to get involved into this, it will greatly inconvenience A LOT of players. This problem can be solved by selling many resources, however, so it isn't way too much of a massive concern, IMO. Still, it's somewhat wrong, and if Jagex manages to fix this, the GE will return to normal again. :

Worst Game You've Ever Played?
Not this again. :wall: I never said I hated Super Mario Galaxy, in fact it was my favorite Mario game. Also, I know the recent 3D Sonics are not great, but people put them down too much. I really don't like bashers of any kind, that's what I was trying to point out to you. And opinion is never wrong. Negative opinion without reason is though.
-
Are YOU a fanboy?
I guess you guys are too stubborn to believe in Sonic games anymore. :wall: And, it's not just Sonic games that I can't stand bashing upon, it's just about EVERY SINGLE FREAKING SERIES that I can't stand bashing. Really, there is no "crap" series. Personal taste has a huge factor on this. You guys are just turning down the Sonic series because you want to. "It's crap" is NOT a valid reason as to why it's crap. People have got to learn this, in fact now I prefer fanboyism/fangirlism rather than bashing. If you just bash games it's pointless, why don't you stop playing those games then? It's better than coming to a gaming forum and start shouting "THIS GAMES SUCKZ0RZ@@@@@@@" and get flamed by others. Also, your "this is better than that" argument makes little sense. It's not a fact, but you sound like it is. You guys should really go hate somewhere else. I really want to stop this flame war. Whether games are good or bad, whether it's a phenomenon or it's getting ruined, it's all subjective. Not common fact.

Are YOU a fanboy?
But there it is, when you compare games like sonic heroes (wich is a decent game) to the other games of the genre (sunshime at the time) it clearly lacks. The speed isnt enough like the genesis era and when they try to place a gimmick they just make it worse (yes, i though team based levels was decent, but werehogs and black knights no) Also, about the Racing, i wouldnt get my hopes up, looks like a rip off super mario kart with finishers/specials, and f-zero is not a party game, its a real racing game, cant be compared to Mario Kart/Sega racing. I've never played SMS, and I've never played SU and SatBK, so I can't say anything about that one. :wall: At least team play was a nice gimmick, hope they can make a better version of it in future games. I'm surprised you didn't put guns on that list, that was probably the worst gimmick in the entire series. (Who needs guns when you have the powers of Sonic? Seriously. -.- ) About the racing, it probably might be just like Mario Kart, who knows? It might be better or worse, we don't know at the moment. It probably might not even include items. I put F-Zero there, because it is also a racing game (this assumes I'm only talking about the single player).

Price manipulation: right or wrong?
No one is starting a 'flame war' (whatever that means), but yours is just an opinion that I am disagreeing with. Whether it is right or wrong morally, price manipulation is not against the rules and many people also benefit as well as lose, whether its the new addy or mith you buy, or bandos! :wall: Yes I did read what you put, did you read mine? As Est0rrath states: This is not real life, it is a game, how are people being abused? These are incredibly strong terms for something that is a game and completely out of proportion to the issue. There are clear guidelines from Jagex on dealing with those clans that manipulate prices for anyone that wants to read them. However the point I was making is that it is not stated anywhere that it is against the rules and I have spent time looking! Please note this direct quote from Jagex: It clearly says it is NOT a "massive concern" and all they are doing is trying to prevent it happening, not making it 'against the rules'. Do not equate RS with RL in case you hadn't realised.....it isn't. :shame: Flame War = Making an argument, while also including insults. And why did I put price manipulating is against the rules :wall: I was assuming that it had traits that most definitely make it against the rules, but for some reason three wrongs make a right. #-o I just think it's wrong, because it involves scamming, abusing, and exploiting. It ruins the game for many people, especially those who frequently buy stuff from the GE. Jagex is most certainly trying to stop it, but why isn't it a massive concern? Why hadn't they say it was against the rules yet? I'm with you on this one, Jagex must sooner or later put price manipulating to a stop, but let's just abuse it for now until they say so. (Sorry for the sarcasm, that's the only way I could argue back with that one.) Also I was only saying things that Pantim said, because he made a reasonable point about real life. It most indeed equates to RS, because whether it is in RL or RS, the economy is greatly altered by price manipulation, affecting a lot of people. I'm sorry if I'm offending you with my arguments, in fact that's the least I want to do. I'm not the guy that calls other people "hypocrite" (looking at you, Quelmotz ), in fact I respect other people's opinions just as I do with my own. Let's just have a friendly debate with this, I don't want it to get too far.

Worst Game You've Ever Played?
So people aren't allowed to have an opinion anymore? Not that I support bashers, but if they provide reasons of why it's bad, then they have somewhat of a merit to call it a bad game. For example, I can most certainly call Super Mario Galaxy the worst game because of its awful camera, it has bad co-op, no replayability, and the stars are too easy to get. (Nah, that's not what I really think, I think SMG is a great game despite those bad points.) Also there is no such thing as "having standards". There is only such thing as "opinion". That's just stupid. Everyone knows that there are surely worse games... -.- That's just a personal preference. What you are saying is about the critics, and what they say isn't fact, they are simply giving opinions about the game. However, critics can sometimes get out of hand when they criticize a game. Take Kirby Super Star Ultra for example - They only rated it a 7/10 because it is just like the gameplay of its predecessor! The truth is, they haven't discovered the hidden secrets of the game (Helper to Hero, Meta-Knightmare Ultra, Revenge of the King, and the True Arena) so that's why they didn't rate it high like Kirby Super Star did. So in truth, it's good to give out your preferences about the game, but when you criticize one, be sure to have your reasons and don't just bash it. :)

Oh, I see. It's just like Mario somehow. (Sonic and the Black Knight, Super Mario Galaxy... hmm I think we have a pattern here!) I don't see why they have to let KIDS by them and only make them happy. It's the same thing with Brawl - Sakurai leaned towards the casual players a bit too much, and most of the Melee veterans are quite upset. (Not that I dislike Brawl, in fact it's my favorite game.) Super Mario galaxy is in no way compared to Sonic and Black knight, don't see how you see any pattern. Also, i'd like to see a 8-year old get all 242 stars. They both create spinoff games, that's my point. They both in NO WAY relate to the originals. [/hide] The difference is Core mario games actually harten back o the originals, improve them, and become outstanding games. Sonic games on the other hand, rarely harten back t the originals (only the day levels in unleashed recently) and sonic overall ism't quite possible in a 3d environment. For speed, 2d is the best, specially in a platformer, where the 3d environments require exploration, something speed doesnt provide and sega/sonic team only realised pretty much now. You're right about the Mario games, however the camera lacks BIG TIME. (Especially underwater levels, I can't stand them.) Sonic Heroes demonstrated a 3D game well, and also relates to the originals somewhat. It's just kind of linear, but isn't nearly ALL the 2D Sonics like that? Also the team gimmick is basically a better version of Sonic Advance 3's team system, because it is more useful in 3D. However, if they REALLY were to make more 3D Sonic games, they should make racing games. In fact they are currently making "Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing", I hope it turns out to be better than Mario Kart and F-Zero. :)

Most definitely. Especially the people on GameFAQS, worst community ever. Oh, I see. It's just like Mario somehow. This is exactly why Sonic's community is the worst. :wall: People never learn to have an opinion, they just get disappointed at games. It's not the fact that people don't have an opinion, it is the plain and simple fact that Sonic The Hedgehog (360) was a giant piece of [cabbage]. Sonic Unleashed is just a plain piece of [cabbage]. Sure it has it's good points but I still find the prospect of a werehog [developmentally delayed] and totally unnecessary. I personally think Sonic team needs to quit. The series is dead, I don't think there is a hope of a good Sonic game on a console unless somebody else took over. You're a basher. You're DEFINITELY a basher. Please get out of this thread. RIGHT NOW. :x

Are YOU a fanboy?
SSBB isn't as competitive as SSBM though. SSBB favors defensive play, SSBM favors a mix of both the offensive and the defensive. SSB64 favors offense only. I really don't want to start a debate about SSBB's competitive play. :wall:

Smash Club.
Yeah, considering that he only does high damage when he is also high damage himself, I put him as one of the worst characters to use for Boss Battles. In fact, the worst 5 are Ike, Snake, Olimar, Ice Climbers, and Lucario IMO.

The Best F2P Combat Guide (all levels)
Safety gloves are quite commonly used though. In fact I see quite a lot of people use them when I train at Flesh Crawlers. Not many people use Green D'Hide chaps for melee though. You also didn't mention the Rune Berserker or Kiteshield either, which is why I put it up there. And I think you should still compare those uncommonly used items so you can inform others in your guide NOT to use them, because of the outclassed factor. Otherwise people will still use chainmail and pickaxes to train. :wall:

99 Cape Bonus
99 Runecrafting - 50% chance of creating an extra rune while runecrafting. Like the Explorer's Ring 3, but works on ALL runes. (In case you don't know what it does, when it makes an extra rune, it gives you extra exp made for that rune, unlike other multiple crafted runes.) Also, support.

The "Official" Level 95 Slayer Monster
Support, even though I'm not a member. :? Slayer needs a new monster, the highest ever is Dark Beasts at level 90, and the exp is not even halfway to reach that level.

Runescape Report Abuse
Most definitely, support. Typing the name out is a pain in the [wagon] when you are trying to report a spammer. :wall:
