Cornucopia is dropped by all birds, like the chickens you were killing. You were probably just picking up the bones/meat/feathers and didn't notice when you picked up the cornucopia as well.

As the guy before me said - kill stuff, pick up all charms, make pouches. That's the closest you can get to powerleveling. There's just no other way.

You can unlock 12 songs just by visiting each runecrafting altar. As for quests, there are some songs that you can only unlock during cutscenes. Doing them tends to unlock loads.

No quests required. It's just south of the Bandit Camp in desert.

Well, trees take a long while to grow, and I haven't tried it myself, but I'd say that planting trees and training on zombies meanwhile (going back to check sometimes) is probably a decent idea.

Growing Avantoe, I got anywhere between 8-10k total farming xp per day. As I said, horribly slow. The apparently fastest way is to plant trees, go do something else or log out completely, come back about when they should be grown, check health, repeat. Not tried myself though.

Nope, farming herbs for making potions is pretty slow xp. It's just the cheapest, usually even profitable.

You can barely skip any quests if you want 270 quest points, so definitely do the 5-minute junk quests like Clock Tower.
