  1. Walk by someone standing still offroad. Time Kitten: Need some help? Time Kitten: Lost? about 2.1 seconds into the conversation paranoid person: Stop It! I Was Just Afk, It's Not Like That Is Against The Rules Or Anything? Time Kitten: Kinda is. paranoid person runs just far enough to be out of sight. I figure this out because I keep on walking and pass him again. paranoid person: Stop Following Me! All and all he was on my screen for 8 seconds. I had no reason to think he was AFK, doing anything wrong, or just [bleep]. Personally I just didn't feel like running, or teleporting the half mile through the woods like usual, because I was assembling my playlist at the time.
  2. A note to mention back on the topic of there being so many spawns of each creature... not only is their such, but they respawn ridiculously fast. How fast Kalafai? you ask. There were still red bars over the heads of creatures as they spawned. Now THAT's fast.
  3. I think that's the sound of him muting you.
  4. Shortcut hole immediatly to the left, it's less than ten paces to walk.
  5. Some girl Caitlin didn't like. Apparently they needed a human sacrifice to break open the lower catacombs, and if you spare Reese, he makes himself into the sacrifice.
  6. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Mask_of_dragith_nurn That';s +1 to all attack, +1 to all defenses besides summoning. Oh, and makes you look like a circular saw is trying to make out with you.
  7. Well, Xenia did say that perhaps I should work on slaying all the horrors under the catacomb. I fetch my armour and prepare myself to delve into the unknown. Ewwwwww.... roaches! Stomp stomp stomp, slaying was never so easy! Well, people seem to be handling this area well, so I press deeper, hacking through the cobwebs and spiders, replacing spilled bones back into their resting places as I go. Ugh, bugs, I swat them down, getting ever better at smacking things with shinier things, and I come across a peculiar idol, perhaps I shouldn't... but my fingers are so itchy for it. I have a nice lunch of rat meat and spinach roll, then head back up to the surface, having combated enough vile beasts for the day. Still hungry though... maybe Roddy would know where the local kebab shop or cake stall is. Xenia... Xenia! She offered to buy the idol and any more I found, sure as rain in in Catherby or fog in Lumbridge, I let her have it. I set off to store my armour and some nice spider's thread I collected at the bank. I walked over to Roddy's polishing a nifty gold amulet I'd found down there. If I wear it, someone might think I'm respectable people. Crawdads, he says is the local dish, fresh caught and roasted on a fire between some particularly dead trees. I run off to the store for supplies. Then I sneak behind Farmer Fred's place to poach in his pond because I hear his are the best. I'm thinking just one might not be enough, so I get twenty or so to make sure I can fill myself up. Down with a tree, up with a fire, business as usuall, but now to roast some... aww, I burnt most of them, well, had better get some more. I get as many done as I can carry, but I could really go for some pineapple punch right now. Ach, Demons again! I don't let this one escape, chasing it to and fro as it teleports around til my punches crumble it to ash. Odd, it had a talisman... like the one the Duke gave me, but with the mind glyph rather than air. Ahh, Giant spiders come to steal my shrimpythings! Slashy seems slower than ever... perhaps I should seek a new weapon to add to my adventuring might. Back to the Varrok sword shoppe! I ask the shopkeeper what he has better than the basic steel, and he recommended a dark but shiny Kinshra longsword. Daddy was Kinshra, and his sword sure looked sharp, so I got one. Perhaps I can put it to good use, maybe hack my way deeper into the catacombs and find lotsa treasure! But only the best armour will do with this, and I look to going about getting an upgrade first, top of the line iron all the way!
  8. Just did my write up of Kalafai's passage through the quest. http://forum.tip.it/topic/247197-kalafai-the-wailful-waif-and-her-ailing-tutorual/page__st__20__gopid__4160609entry4160609 A couple things to note. This IS the melee/ranged/magic tutorial, and I got to turn it on as I entered. Also, the staff is bugged, and stuck to my hip as I hand casted air strike.
  9. Good Golly Guthix! Xenia! Xenia, here, in Misthalin! She's like, my role model! I've got all her posters, action figures, trading cards! I traded my Dionysius rookie card for the set! On second thought, I probably should have kept that card to pay my tuition at Tutorial Island. Ah well, I get to meet Xenia! Time to run to Lumbridge! But first I cook me up some of that rat meat for lunch. I only burned one to the range this time... that means I'm nearly three times as good at that! Huffing and puffing from the run, I hurry up to Xenia, holding out my sword for her to sign. I don't know what happened then, but later I woke up draped over a tombstone, my head hurting quite nasty. I finnally manage to press though the crowd to talk to her... Good Golly Guthix, she knows my NAME! This is the best day ever! And she needs my help! Walking down the stairs after some cultists... I don't think I want to get old. GASP! And arrow! Xenia is wounded... maybe a last autograph would be worth something... No, she thinks I can rush him, the mighty archer that defeated Xenia! Ah well, at least I wont hafta be old when he skewers me. I, Kalafai, have knocked down the man who has bested Xenia with a bow! He grovels at my feet, and I let him live to spread word of my might as I lay claim to the mightiest of ranged weapons! With bow in hand, I chuck my stabbies at the mighty sorceress Caitlin next, and nail her good, the long, straight rods piercing her soft flesh. She begs me to finish her, and a laugh in my mocking tone, "No, I shall not. You shall return to the world above and tell great tails of my mighty bow. I lay claim to her long, smooth staff, and all her many runes, and carry on into the dark! I offer Reese his life should he grovel at my feet without contest, and tell of my victory against the great Highwayman #5 but he listens not, and it comes to blows, sorcery vs sword. I feel my magical might grow ever stronger as I stand over his kneeling form, and raise my staff up high. His parting curses are no match for the bludgeoning doom of a stick. With the hostage rescued, Xenia gives me some many air and mind runes and arrows to help me on my quests, and I feel more confidant in every skill I have shown before her.
  10. Anyone tried using the mask on the helm yet?
  11. Oh, I'd like to see the 300qp helmet combod with the quest cape please. Really like to see it with a trimmed quest cape, though.
  12. The mask in 5 parts, scattered thought the catacombs. It's like bronze RFD gloves for your head.
  13. First off, Quest wise, I think this makes a great introduction to the combat triangle, making up for the lumbridge tutors no longer actually tutoring you. It shows the beginings of escort quests as Xenia taking a hit (she has some 4 live points, got hit a 2 while I was there) resets the room. You are prompted to try out range, and given a moral decision. The first opponent is easy enough to spare, the second is iffy, but her honorable kneeling while asking me to smite her was good enough to let her go, the last.. well, I vaporized him on the spot. Second, the dungeon. No more ranging rats and running from highwaymen who get lucky, you get distinctive critters that use all three sides of the triangle, and respond to the respective side of such. I might even be tempted to come back with crumble undead. A chance for newbies to venture into a progressive dungeon and try out a boss fight before they are ready for the stronghold of security, i approve. Equiptment... Nice to have unique looking things, but in the end you get a shortbow, and bronze sword, and a basic staff (not even magic staff) with unique models. Though you can quickly upgrade in the dungeon as you go along, getting a bronze mace to deal with the critters, a magic staff to give another boost to the woefully inadiquate air strike. Runes and arrows are common drops enough to keep your range and mage going, along with bronze, copper, and tin so you can smith up new melee gear should you die a few times. Bronze chainbodys/meds and leather bodys/coifs were also present, keeping your newbie all equipted. Still doesn't compare to mining out a gem and getting full iron right off the bat from the GE, but good enough for the starting player. As for the mask. Overpowered. "WHAT", you say, but here's the thing, remember, this is a f2p item, and even with p2p, the attack bonuses from the fighter helm have been removed, making it a choice, if a poor one. Hmm... the necromancer has the same staff as Dahmarock
  14. Looking forward to doing the Kalafai the Wailful Waif writeup to this. Too bad about the strength exp though, guess a bit more sloppy to be a staff of light pure.
  15. I managed to squeeze in another 20k over various skills at the 1.1 modifier last night.
  16. Notice the entirely different rendering engine? I account the eyes to that.
  17. He's still casting is final combat spell, most likely.
  18. Mayhaps after you've finished the replica, you can move the curse over to it, and then you have a live Dahmarok, and an active distraction at the same time?
  19. I have to say I like this distraction, it motivates me to hit all skills, and keeps me from hoarding my MtK herbs for cash.
  20. In that time, I could have cleaned my room... phft! Like that'll ever happen.
  21. Now, I'm interested in moving up highscores brackets... but one thing I've noticed, is that very rarely am I even second from last rank within a particular total level. And when I am second to last, it's not by very much. Right now I am at the very bottom of total level 1660 by some 300k exp. Typically most of my levels just need "topping up" but I doubt that would change anything besides put me even lower on the next level's rung. My levels range a tight bracket from 60-77 (and closing the gap), most hovering around 70. I'd think I'd be the common player, enjoying all the game has to offer, and following up each aspect around the same, with occasional spurts to match a quest. Turns out I'm not, and always the highscores jeer at me for being overly average. I only expect this to get worse, especially as my skills bunch up under the 80 mark, then suddenly tick over all at once practically so I can be a perfectly versatile stealing creation player. I do wish to ask, why aren't so many more playing with their skills anywhere close to eachother? I quite enjoy the pacing of each skill declining together rather than one still being fast and the others already slow. I do enjoy going from one thing to the next, seeing Damarok as being a nice incentive towards players like me, stealing creation's broad blanket over all skills, or Tears of Guthix picking up the slack in the skill I've left untouched the longest... I thought I was playing how the game was telling me to. http://services.runescape.com/m=hiscore/overall.ws?table=0&user=time%20kitten&category_type=0 http://services.runescape.com/m=hiscore/hiscorepersonal.ws?user1=Time%A0Kitten
  22. 2 more agility levels, leaving me at 69 Herblore, yet another herb to clean (just cleaned the last 50 herbs in my bank to finish the level) Crafting as I was getting the crafting stones. A hunter level, also trying to get stones, but only got one. And topped it off with a quest, Within the Light. Might finish off the agility level before the weekend is up, because +10% is still a pretty good modifier for agility. But right now gonna hunt to see if I can finish off that statue.
  23. repel onto the path from above... bring rope... I believe.
