Damage in Runetek5 is determined before the animation starts, to stop prayer flashers I guess, but really they can just work on their timing. A week or two after jad was adjusted to start animations before starting the attack so you could still prayer switch at him, but it seems a bit buggy.
  2. This is barrel chest at level 58. There is no torags, and it is within the target level range of the quest. And with any lag at all, 2 hits are shown at once often enough. Lunar quests are that bad, when you are the minimum level, and 65 defense. It is my prayer that my upload speed will at the time be high enough in order to register the run command in time. And how will ~30 hours more grinding against stuff that does not do any of these things provide me with the intellectual capacity to discus them? I am providing my testimony in opposition to the statement that Jad is much harder than quest bosses. Quest bosses take 1-3 tries for me, and are always seen as a challange. They can vary from player to player, from punching out the Slagalith at level 40 with your bare hands and no food because you weren't expecting to fight a thing, to strugling with Elvarg because you've never even heard of antifire potions. I'm pretty sure Jad himself will be easy as pie, and that the only reason I haven't taken him out already is that I haven't grind baked enough pies to fill my inventory since I got a magic shortbow, or even bothered to purchase enough food at all.
  3. I couldn't agree more. Same. I dislike MMORPG's where you are set into a specific set of skills. That's probably most of them.. I'd like to share this oppinion. Lets see my WoW account for what I did there... I've a character of each class, for each faction, plus a few on other servers for varying races. Most are around level 30, where I noticed a big change in how the game plays, with my warlock locked in 29, my frost mage at 42 and still not done gnomeregan, and a paladin at 46 that has been out dpsing level 60-70light rogues I've played with (but still out dpsed by my warlock, much to my pride). I don't play it. I'm very much a compleationist, and having to be every class in every starting area wore on me too much, especially when the areas to level in started to branch out. However, in RS, I can branch out however I chose, do every quest without worrying about getting too many kill X quests and leveling (RS did this right by bundling that away into the slayer skill) And any given day, I could be ranging chompies, tank maging zombies, and melee pking with my fists alone... maybe even in the same day. And I can still craft, smith, mine, deforest, fletch, fish, cook, and any other skill activity with a single character. As for my class... well, the only thing I can call myself is Questwhore.
  4. Could not agree with this more. While we get rid of the Fire Cape requirement let's also throw away the need to do hard quests so we can access everywhere because it's unfair to the people with bad internet and they can't fight boss monsters. all quest boss monsters are easy on laggy computers because they have no ko potential so if you lag out it shouldn't be a problem at least for a short while. while jad is the one exception where if you lag your dead. The only exception to this is nomad but he is predictable, even if you lag you still have to time to predict his attacks and is only a matter of trial and error until you find something that works, ie hiding behind pillar early ect. You just can't compare quests to jad. So... taking out the Barrelchest... it didn't have ko potential? ...even if it was doing half my hp in damage every swing at the time? Or the inadaquacy, that takes some good effort to even run from, and you must save food for that? Or Nomad, who could 1hit me currently?
  5. What does this post even mean? Also, "Oh noo, Jagex is not fulfilling their obligation to release huge amounts of content every week! Why can't they update slayer every single week? I'd be so happy." Get over it; Jagex doesn't need to give us a giant update each week. Er... okay, I've no idea where you got with that. But one of the major complaints about the whip being coloured by this particular mini game is that the whip is ineffective 1/4th the time you use it, thus making it not a prime item for attackers. To use range in this mini game, you have to switch between four types of ammo. Crystal bow does not even use ammo.
  6. I wish to contact an administrator about moderator behavior, but do not know which to contact.
  7. crystal bow... you can't even use that at all in this mini game. It IS more useless than weilding your pet rock, with which you still have three attack styles.
  8. I wake in a dusty ally, laying on some broken vodka glasses, my stomach quite upset. Perhaps berries were not the right idea. I decide to investigate to see if anyone knows of this berry tampering that must have happened. I find a soppy looking man in an outfit matching the colours of the two types of berries. He seems forgetful, but poking him with a crossbow seems to have taken care of that. Apparently there is this Juliet person I must investigate now. A rather feirce man named Draul stops me at the door as I find the right house, accusing me of snooping around on the berry official's behalf. I assume this is the right place and quite naturally deny it all, and precede in. I managed to sneak past Juliet's bodyguard and speak a code phrase to here, and recieve a letter... perhaps it is a confession for the berry monger? I manage to help him decipher the code and head off to meet with a "Father Lawrance" clearly some sort of mafia boss.a GASP! Poison and a plot to murder... but I need evidence, so head to inquire of the potion. Certainly getting closer to my goal, the back ally herbilist in a bad part of town has me fetch the tainted berries for his concoction. I return to the berry monger, and he suggest I drink the vile concoction... I fill with outrage, and tell him it is not ordinary cadavaberry juice. But we cannot stop so low, we have to go higher to the top of the berry tainters. I manage to convince Juliet that this is the untainted berry juice from father lawrence. I don't think she looks so good after she drank it... but I manage to get her bodyguard to sound convincing with a little waving of Slashy, and escape the house. After a daring raid, everything worked out in the end, and I got five gold stars!

The best pure is the one skewered on my stabby.... but besides that, I'm looking to hybrid magic with attack, 1 strength, and howevermuch defense is appropriate... til I get board.

They can, even if your reference the school's own official dictionary for it. I spent half of third grade fighting the power over this. They responded by entering me in remedial special ed courses for the next 9 years. Remedial FOR special ed.
  11. Or if you don't have the levels, perhaps cannoning daggonoths?
  12. It was always that colour. The flexable section (red) was extended to show the individual colours better.
  13. gee, looks as though you can totally fail and still get the full 40 minute charm bonus... might be nice to hit before slaying something already pretty good for charms.
  14. Erm... gratz on your potential mute anyways? and boo you for making people cry.
  15. Well, with nothing in the news bar, I wouldn't have known.... Wait... aren't infinity robes... RAINBOW coloured? as in already all colours?
  16. Tsk, Castlewars does not need an update. People don't play it for the rewards, they play it because it is fun. And always ever, one level 60 that can manage their run energy can turn the tide as the point is NOT combat, but to capture the flag. A few examples of what I've done personally, always against greater opponents. I've held someone 40 levels higher than me in top gear that would have easily plowed through to the flag from passing the spawn room. Simply enough, I just engaged him in a fight, which he thought would be a quick kill, and stood there using bandages for five minutes. As it was a 4vs4 game, he was the entire offense of his team, and the heavy fighters that were the rest of my team tore through his teams defenders. In a large game, I've kept barriers up. Yes, they fall quickly to explosives, but people leave auto retaliate up, and ice barrage people like to defend, so I kept putting them up as fast as they went down. In a more medium game, without too many ancient mages, I've slipped through the defenses countless times, and capped flags like nobody's business but my own. Now, I haven't played this game for some 40 combat levels besides for the diary. All these things were done by a level 60, non pure, who plays to win. The point of this is, it doesn't matter your combat level, it's possible to have fun... in a minigame with fighting... against fully decked out players... by realising it IS a game, and playing. Yes, even if you are level 3, there is something for you to do. You can help with the barricades, keep the tunnels blocked, operate the catapult... even join the catapult's chat and scout out co-ordinates for it to hit... and you'll be effective against even max level players when practiced.
  17. Probably ate it while tunneling through ancient, underground ruins. I'd say used to be a jungle there way back when, and they munched up an army of Icyne mages that would have made a quick and decisive victory over the godsword.
  18. I want my old music player back. The one where you had a button to loop, a button to keep from switching to local tunes... I don't even remember the thrid anymore. But now we don't even have the loop button. I want my functionality back.
  19. and after the SoL is at 15mil for a few weeks, it skyrockets up thar with godswords and yer So outa Luck.
  20. Let us not forget the Kalaphite Queen, a boss that is still rarely soloed, despite her age, that forces you to both melee and something else, has a particular weakness, has a particular weapon effective VS her, summons minions, and fights from all sides of the triangle.

Unless he's using the ipod for a fourth
  22. Due to the fact that you can wear range armour with good bonuses and the mask instead of having to wear the full void set, yes it is better. And it's 15% not 10%, and it's hours and hours less minigame req.
  23. Why not just have people on lunars and use spec share? More awesome... but, lets see, you need reach weapon... how well does slayer dart hit her?
  24. If oyu really think about it the staff special is pretty useful everywhere. Barrows, pvp, SARA (WE CAN FINALLY TANK SARA), Slayer tasks, the list goes on... Nope. If you unwield the staff, you lose the special effect. Or, since you are there to soak up damage and attention while tanking, other people can switch to their whips and bolts while their own special bars recharge to actually do the killing.
  25. effect wears off when you unequip the staff. You'd need to mage the boss. Staff is also a Dragon Hasta. you can has stab boss. With shield or defender. With the looks of it, you'd think you could saradomin strike with it. And... Jagex has answered our pleas, we naow can has black mask for rangier and magie. And we now can has mage to level of godwars weapons.
