Sorry for the hijack. I'm looking at getting extremes :3 I repot 10 levels below my max with pots when I use supers, how should I use extremes? The same way?

Heh. I wanted a general Mage level that's handy "just in case" and lower then 96...might suck it up. Not sure if earth bolting at aviansies is good, but it's handy to know. Arn't they resistant to Mage anyway, being rangers and all? I know the methods I use are ecto/ring 3/cammy tele/ardy tele/troll tele, but I'm not 100% sure about the last 3.

First hit is the base bonus, second hit and onwards is the base + 10% of you opponents stats. Don't Spec first hit.

Is training magic by combat ever worth it? I love combat Mage but don't want it to go over about 5gp/exp, which is string ammy today. Is this possible, or not? Also, I'm most likely going to raise herblore/prayer with my cash unless someone can suggest a better idea that makes cash...Is it worth just gettin to super antifires (with stew) for the meantime? What else could I do with it? Also, with my stats, no void, best way to kill greens? Super antifires/antifires? Chaos tunnel or Cw? Range or melée? Coal bag worth getting to superheat with, if superheating is a viable method? If combat Mage turns out to be expensive, then I'll turn to that...but I'm saving up for a chaotic weapon :P Best way to get to the different herb/tree patches? Quests arn't much of an issue, achievement diaries might be. Second fastest tele to a fairy ring after slayer ring? (don't have the ability to make them). Melée gp/exp if I was to go to monkey ekellies? (the chinning spot). A good magic level to sit on? Is 83 slayer worth getting for gwd kcs if I plan to gwd in the future?

I'm not getting 93 summon, 91 smithing, 70 fletch and 75 rc for a few extra teles. Hell, I can't even get 70 fletch. Can't afford too. I use the medium diary's free tele once a day, then either ardy tele from house portal/runes or skills necklace tele. I'd love to get elite, but you need to fund it.

I never get velds, they're one of the first things I want to block/cancel. I don't get them often, but they suck exp wise for me (I don't cannon), and are generally irritating.

Depends on which setup you use. If you go for the range defence option (ie no Mage defending top), it's probably worth getting a ma ring or using a explores/life. Since you're using rapier, warrior is not an option. I'm not sure if there's any non-ma ring that gives ranged defence, otherwise use that. If you go with karil's top, seers ring. Also, extremes + no ring >>> supers + a ring. Rings give marginal bonuses, extremes give wayyy more.

Yeah, I'll give up the whole efficiancy thing, I suppose it's really not worth it after all. I've been praying all tasks in the vain hope of getting amazing exp... Moving on to cost, when about will I start breaking even pietying all tasks? Oh, also, is it worth raising Mage via combat, ever? If you're not a rich-ass sob. I like dungeoneering, but come across those skill doors that I can't open a tad too often (usually rc or something...>_>). Is it worth getting all skills 70+ or even 75+ just for dung? Also, should I main melee/Mage or melée/range?

In terms of cost, void is worth it big time. In terms of whether or not you'll actually get it, depends on you. I'd say as a very, VERY rough guess (dunno today's prices) that 1.2k chins will net you about 200k exp in one hour. Let's go with chins being 700 ea. You'll probably use like 2/3 range pots and about 15-18 prayer pots an hour. So that's 1200*700 + 2*10000 + 18*9500 = 1.03m. So that's about 5gp/exp. (An underestimate, i'm sure. Bursting is about 8gp/exp.) I'd say there's about 10m exp between 84 and 99? So about 50m. Taking the inverse of 5 to get exp/gp, and multiplying by 40m, we get 7.8m exp. Added to your about 3m exp, we finish up with 10.8m exp.

95/92/99 is a big difference to 80/80/80. I tend to go with the lowest end of the spectrum - so I don't overclaim outragous exp rates. What I will do, starting sometime, is actually collect accurate data...>_>

Agreed. No need to keep your LP that low during the kill, time your overloads. You lose about 33% kils per trip if you don't time them anyway... I've been about 4? times at solo bandos, i've never came close to dying with the equipment i've said before (Piety, super sets, Prosyl top/bottom, Fally 3, whip, glory, d boots, b gloves, sw cape, ect.)

Hey, it gives you something to do :D I'm aware that being efficiant requires money and an attention span, I'm a little lacking in the money department. Slayer's stupidly slower then training melees at AZ's or something. Besides, the game is basically about how efficiant you can be, cause you're only gonna live so long. If you're sick of low stats, do something about it. Other players don't magically obtain 99 slayer and other combat stats. It takes work; effort; time. With your stats the only way you could be getting that low of exp is if you're not paying attention or just checking your exp every five seconds. If you still disagree with me, use super atk/str potions on every task. And don't even start with "Oh my stats aren't nearly as good as yours that's why I'm not doing as well." I slayed with 80 atk/str/def and easily got around 20k xp/hr Dunno how you did it. I'm not afking, i'm constantly watching the screen and flicking to my stats tab so I know when to repot (10 levels below max, about 1.8? spec bars) and when to spec. It's my stats.

If for some reason your mage prayer is glitched, chuck on melée/piety, claws/whip, Mage defence gear and rush him@@@@

I can't help much, and am also interested in this topic as my Mage level is the same as yours. Is string ammy still viable (2-3gp/exp) after they fixed the rouge?

I'm using that gear, except glory instead of fury. Lowc, I've had low stats for ages, and I'm sick of it. Maxing with slayer will take like another year on top of az's :S Mr, 99 attack is a big difference. Easily explains 20k+ exp/hour over mine.

Mr, look at your stats, then look at mine. I also don't cannon any tasks. Djay, I have no prayer switching skills, hence why I don't wanna do td's. I can't make cash, and can't get a fire cape. I just want to know which saves more time, gaining superflous exp is no bother really. I like slayer, but it's slow. I like mining rune ess, too, but it's useless. I love worrying abot efficiancy, as I don't wanna waste a few hundred hours. Also, I don't want a fire cape now, I see it as a useless show off item ( I pray most thigs anyway, so sw cape is better). I just want to rush him with some degree of success, i've seen it done, no matter the reqs. Edit: I meant now as in right at this moment, and why not bother bursting at ape atoll? People chin there, and they can't be that resistant to Mage...

So I'm like a little sick of pietying all tasks because I chew up a metric ton of prayer pots (fiends ATM, and I'm too tight to buy a zs so I'm borrowing, and it's chewing heaps of prayer pots.) I've basically been assured that you at least break even (I personally haven't, but meh). Meh. How much faster does pietying all tasks really make it? Is it exactly what it says on the tin? (20ish percent) How long does it take to break even? In addition, if I wanted to get high melees, boss, and slay, which would be the fastest route? Is it worth maxing out before slaying? Slaying with my pathetic stats gives slow exp, about 15k/hour? On average. I'm training for bosses so I can make cash, also a factor. Gp/exp bursting lobs? Mage exp. Or in ape atoll tunnels. No battles. Foolproof fightcaves method? What levels/gear do you need to have to spec out (noskill) jad?

Perhaps vengance other for pvp? Or boosting to barrage/veng.

I piety all tasks, and it costs, but I can't seeing it be over 1gp/exp.

Quick question: do you lag alot or something? Looking at your stats, there should be little to no risk of you dying at bandos. Hell, I've done bandos in prosly and a fally shield 3, super sets, haven't come close to dying (solo). What's your budget, too? Claws are only good if you've filled out everything else, otherwise dds does ok. Setup if money isn't an issue: Sw cape/fire cape, v helm, karil's top/bcp, tassies, fury, d boots, ring of life/zerker, cls, dfs/ely/divine/dung shield. Invent is like zammy dhide top for kc, dds, 2-4 overloads, super prayer for emergencies (If you run out alot), rest brews and restores (5:2 or 3:1 brews/restores is a good idea).

Not everyone's really pro, and everyone has different ways of doing things, but I do strongly reccomend getting at least 70/80 defence and investing in good armour, if you find yourself dying alot.
